i think that everyone needs to re-read the Friday feature again...personally, i think they're changing the profession, not the path to open your slot.

it's a tad ambiguous...

is it the Jedi system changing, or the path to open a FS that is changing?

are they removing the "grind by yourself" aspect of Jedi and replacing with more Jedi-centric quests, or are they removing holo-grinding.

Here's a quote:

Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi.

All the changes listed have to do with the Jedi profession itself, not with the way to become FS.

I wonder if everyone is screaming for no reason. Of course the devs live to confuse us...so...

McGridle **edit** you have no clue what is going to happen. As far as we all know this might be the best change. Don't let the door hit you on the way out we don't need people like you.

With thunderhearts comments on SWG Stratics, he said the Holocron will become useless. And said that he will still have one just to keep as a silly item.

I hope they change the whole holo grinding thing...my second holo told me to go Master Musician and that is pure crap. It will take forever to master that...even with Macro's. Maybe you have master one certain profession and do some other things that don't involve profession.

As long as we dont get something worse than the holos

Lets face it, the missions are dull, got to terminal/recruiter, go to point A kill everything there go back for reward ad nauseum. Or even worse you need a quest to get certain items a la RIS armor. Welcome to the Woolamander temple, please take you ticket and stand in line ready for the next spawn. In some ways the holo grind was better than getting holos themselves. That imperial base on Naboo was just a frustration. It promoted the worse aspects of the whole game. Kill stealing, ninja looting and pissing people off.

I am frankly worried about quest implementation.

My apologies if I'm reposting this, but I think that the number of jedis out there has become too high for the number of players and the devs need to figure out a way to control the ratio of jedis and "regular people". Just my two cents.

I always agreed the hologrinding was crap, and it seems now the devs have finally listened. The way to the FS slot should be a quest, not hologrinding. It is unfair to people. Hologrinding takes the fun out of the game. Dropping hard earned skills is no fun either, especially those who decided to become bounty hunters. Hologrinding emptied the cities, made the GCW a joke, and made players unbearable with the camping at the holocron cave. A jedi cap is the worst idea and it would destroy the game. Alot of people would definitely cancel their accounts if a jedi cap was in place.I know I would cancel my account if that happened. Everyone pays their monthly dues to play, so every account is entitled to the FSCS.The devs should take into account the players that did hologrind so that their work is not lost. This news of a quest based system has just saved an account, and possibly many others who felt the same way. Many jedi won't ruin the game but increase the fun factor, the people who want to be jedi will have their fun, and the other people who want to hunt and kill them will have their fun too. Hopefully, this news will save whatappeared to be a dying game, and bring it back to the greatness it deserves.

The second phase will be to rebuild the Jedi system to be quest-oriented; and toinclude the familiar elements of Force Sensitivity, Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi. (It should also be noted that players who have put in work towards becoming a Jedi will not lose their effort. Some sort of recognition of players' efforts will be included in the new system.)

OMG! I just came to think of something. What if they really are just talking about those that already are force sensetive? I meanfs is just fs your not a jedi just because you are fs. Im pretty sure they mean that.

And this part "(It should also be noted that players who have put in work towards becoming a Jedi will not lose their effort. Some sort of recognition of players' efforts will be included in the new system.)" I think they mean that the ones that are fs already will have to do quests in order to become stronger and become jedi.

What a bummer....I sold 2 of my holos today....wee

I have to say i am in full support of a quest system. I have not liked the holo-grind from day one. I did not come here to be a master chef... or a master musician. So far my holo's have led me to drop the professions I chose because I wanted to play those. Granted I didn't HAVE to follow the holo's, but I DO want my FS slot opened... and that is forced upon us now with the current system. I say make the system quest related.. make the quests hard as hell.. I would rather have to go and quest on highly difficult errands than sit in a cantina grinding entertainer, or grinding some artisan profession that only bores me and makes me dread coming in and playing this game. I find mysef spending more time on my other servers just to get away from the holo-grind I am doing on wanderhome.

So long story short... I love the idea of a quest oriented path to unlock the FS slot. I think the one thing that should be considered is this as well.. If we go to quests and such... keep in mind there are some professions that cannot hunt and kill as well as others. Some quests should be geared towards the dancer classes and the artisan classes that maybe aren't quite as tough. Just a thought... I prefer harder more challenging quests but I am a combat class and can handle it much easier.

Just my 2 cents worth
