To those saying it will be a change in the unlocking method:

It did not say easier.... it said different, as in you wont have to change your character like you do now via holocrons. It may even be harder, but in a different way.

That quote is from the Jedi forum. I think it's pretty clear that the intention is to change the method of unlocking.

Wonder if we will have to do group raids to kill large creatures for different drops and stuff like that. I also wonder if the quests will be different for Imperials and Rebels. If they have me run around killing stormtroopers as an imperial, guess I still wont be a Jedi. OR maybe imperial players now start their Jedi as an imperial initiate instead of rebel..... only time will tell.

This is a game, not the movies. If the movies reflected anything in the real world, the rebellion would've been crushed in a week. A lone XWing blowing up a battlestation the size of a planet? I think not my friend.

Games are supposed to fun for everyone, challenging, presenting new frontiers to break, new ideas and things to try out.

Having to grind the same thing for weeks on out in a lonely forest with 0 player interaction is not exactly my idea of having fun in a game. And on top of this suddenly someone coming to kill you with 3 headshots and making you lose a week-two worth of horrible repetitious grinding.

If you wanted a game where being a Jedi was rare, they should've allocated a "20 Jedi maximum" on each server and then make those characters uber-powerful. But again, this would've broken the "fun factor" for those trying to attain that status.

A game. Not a movie. Not "reality" as such. Take it as a game, let it be fun for those who spent ages in opening their FS slots.

I opened a christmas holo, it said master musician. I promptly sold the second (cool 300K) once I realized that no matter what, I would have to grind through most of the professions, because you can't know the fifth profession. I decided to enjoy the game w/o a jedi character because I didn't want to become a lame hologrinder.

To those that think unlocking your FFS will not change, From the Jedi Coorespondant:

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The second phase will be to rebuild the Jedi system to be quest-oriented; and toinclude the familiar elements of Force Sensitivity, Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi. (It should also be noted that players who have put in work towards becoming a Jedi will not lose their effort. Some sort of recognition of players' efforts will be included in the new system.)

______________________________________________________________________________________

I interperet this to mean the holo slave with 20+ professions mastered, will have to do less to unlock their FFS through quests than a character that has only mastered 1. Maybe, maybe not.

I read tihs as them not only changing the path to unlocking your FSCS, but also revoking the slots from those who already have a FSCS. I really hope they do. With such drastic changes to the system, there is going to be a great deal of animosity towards those who are already Jedi, and those that got cut short in the grinding. SO, wipe them clean, and let them start again with help from their "recognition" they will receive (shorter quests perhaps).

Holo-grinding was a stupid system from the start. If you didn't realize that in the beginning, and kept grinding...well all I can say is you deserve what you get for following such a poorly implemented plan.

To open the FS slot... very unclear and "blurry" statement. Kinda makes me thinking that.. well, I have 10 dollars saying that devs. have not yet decided whether or not HoloGrinding should be taken out and replaced with a Quest system.

I am thinking they are looking at several options for opening the FS slot :

1) Keep Holos, let those who want to grind, do so.

2) Replace Hologrind with a Quest

2) Add Quests - those who dont want to grind, can go this alternative way.

3) To open the FS slot, you have to Master 5 profession and THEN do a Quest.

Nontheless, they are probably making this unclear statement, in order to view feedback, and then decide what they are going to do.

My own translation of the statement was, at first :

"When you have become a Jedi, you can gain Jedi xp by doing specific Jedi Quests". After reading it over and over, and reading other peoples thoughts and arguments, I am now more unsure.

Confused.

Scared.. did I spend 500 hours in the cantina GrindDancing for nothing?

**edit** this game and the devs i quit. this is bull**edit**. all these whiny players out there cryed their little hearts out to the devs "waaaa i wanna be jedi but i dont want you to tell me what i have to master waaaa gimme a more straight forward solution" until they got their way. now they got their way and it makes this game just as bad as every other star wars game out there. SO MUCH FOR ORIGINALITY!! **edit** this

So you know the new system? Please tell....we are all DYING to find out.

<end sarcasm>

yet another rant about something nobody knows about. What if the new idea is harder? and creates even less Jedi? perhaps you should think before you post.

There is no way they will take away the slots that people have already opened. Talk about rediculous and unfare.

People are just reading way too much in to what has been said. Take a step back and read it again. They said "players who have put in work towards becoming a jedi.." that's people grinding out professions now will not have to start completely over. They've said in the past that "Jedi" does not mean Jedi Master, they're referring to FS characters.

Hopefully there will be alternate ways for jedi's to get xp other than just killing creatures, add some Star Wars feel to it. That's a great idea in my opinion. Well just have to wait another month or three to find out.
