wow, did I have fun yesterday.

So, I'm currently doing the quests on the Rryatt Trail. I think Owen mentioned how cool they are... and they are! As I was somewhere on level 3 I believe, for those that have been there I was approaching the area where there are ALL those moufs (the big bear-like creatures) that are all in the mid to high 50's I believe as far as CL - not hard to beat, but when 10 or 15 decide to swamp you, you're going to get the hurt laid on you HARD and probably get incapped.

So, as I sort of looked around a bit, scouted out the terrain, thought about how to get through them to the escaped wookiees to the NW (thanks, areatrack!)... I watched a Master BH with whatever other ranged skills master go plowing ahead, smack into the group of 20 or 30 beasties. Immediate aggro, laughing my butt off as he goes running off with a huge train of critters following him. Evenutally things calm down, no idea of genius-boy got incap, dead or away... but eventually all the critters moseyed their way back. So, blindly running into the pack didn't seem like a great idea, but I already knew that. I decided that, since camo still isn't working (and we have no Kashyyyk camo yet to my knowledge), I would see how maskscent fared and decided to "test" how quickly and well they'd break it in a couple scenarios (hey, if I die, I die... it IS only a game...)

First attempt - masked and run near a few, broke pretty quickly. Fall back, wait, reapply mask.

Second attempt - walked up, broke but lasted a bit longer. Fall back, wait, reapply mask.

"Third time is the charm" - masked, CRAWL, never broke mask. Went straight up thru the entire herd (? Pack? of 'em probably went by 20 or so without mask breaking at all. Got through to the other side, did the mission where I had to take out the wookiees for the Trando to "send 'em a message", then made sure I was masked and crawled back thru the herd and continued on my way.

So... maskscent is still your friend, and using the knowledge we've gained as Rangers hunting some of the baddest things in the galaxy still can make the difference. I love this type of playing - patience is key, and the whole thing just felt SO Ranger-y to me last night, crawling along the trail with maskscent up, using my Ranger skills to actually avoid aggo so that I could get where I wanted to be without disturbing the local fauna. Was going to try the same thing on the Webweaver level, but got an offer I couldn't refuse from a guildie to get a better ship and some sweet, sweet RE'd parts so that I'm not flying my Tier1 hunk-a-junk with like 10 hitpoints anymore so I'm insta-killed when anything more threatening than a freighter looks at me in space.

I'm REALLY diggin' this expansion. And I can't WAIT to take anyother pass at the space mission gating me from Ettyy now that I've got some decent equipment for space.

the webweaver cave is so frustrating it's extemely hard not to blurt out a string of vulgarities when talking about it. THANK GOD I'M DONE THERE!!

but the new loots are great! i've got two very cool looking books, some potions, A Novice Bounty Hunter Pistol and oh and TWO SKULLS!! great great great loot!

and some really cool quest rewards. I unknowingly happend upon the Junti Mace quest! but, i can only equip it, cant drop it And i also got a really cool Lance with Skulls on it!! this is my kinda loot!!!!!!!

but some of the bugs are just so dang frustrating that it sometimes removes all the fun.... so far, the Webweaver cave is the only real problem area i have found. and hopefully the only one.

but i've still got a lot to do! and it sound exciting!

dont be disillusioned the real BHs will show now. Droids are for the Lazy hunters. Even if your in an instance or a cave they can wait at the exit areas they can go in each till they find you they can even bring a ranger. DONT think your ever safe if you are on the terms.

Be afraid.... Very afraid but enjoy the time you got out there. I hear the bottom of the caves and Ryatt Trail (spelling) are good spots but so do the BHs.

And dont forget to watch out landing since there is only ONE land/launch spot so you have to go through there and never know whos lurking there i know my guild is there alot one BH killed 6 light jedi today just at the landing port. Krashyyyk might be droid safe but its far from BH safe.

kashyyyk is only safe if you stay at the bottom of the caves and never return to the surface until you're knight.

You CAN log in and out from the instance

You CAN sit at the bottom of the caves and kill unsor'is all day if you want

You CAN rinse and repeat until you're bored out of your skull

You CAN travel while cloaked

you CAN'T expect the bh to not try to get to you, without a group they will most likely fail, with a group they will be slowed down.

you CAN'T expect to pop out of the cave and not be shot at

you CAN'T expect to have a pleasurable experience waiting for you at the shuttleport unless

We're all going to die, a BH owned 72 knights last knight as they were leaving kashyyk. They don't need droids their skills are far superior to ours and can outsmart us half the time, because we as jedi aren't people and just deserve to die because we are the cause for all that is wrong in this game. We are all a bunch of noob 12 year old kids that whine about everything and are instantly an I win button.

So remember, BHs own all, as they should, and we are just about as safe on kashyyk as we are on theed.
