Yes. Being able to target a cloaked player is an exploit. You can't target what you are physically unaware of. And I think you know this.

The imperial high command in my server have put out a Jedi macro that loops and targets [list of BHers (mainly from my guild)] because most of us use conceal.

Hearing someone say that targetting jedi is unfair just seems cheeky to me atm. Don't get offended by my posts

Targeting jedi isn't unfair, only targeting one your not suppossed to see is exploiting a game bug.

I *hate* this abuse. I have the /duel macro used on me constantly, and it always results in the mark running away.

Although this one time, I was hunting a Jedi on Dantooine. My seeker "ran out", and when I had another up and running, my mark was all the way on the other side of the planet. So I figured I'd go to the nearest shuttleport close to me and then shuttle into the nearest town (but not in the nearest town) of the mark. As I approach the shuttleport, a Jedi who was around there send me a /duel request, probably thinking I was after him. So I accepted his duel and screwed him up so quick that he couldn't end it. Then I politely informed him that it was an exploit of the system to use /duel to find who is hunting you.

ya know, I agree that we should not be able to use /target on cloaked players.........

But Jedi (and others) should therefore not be able to use it on covered players until the cover breaks.......

so, doesn't that bug affect both sides?

ok, lets talk about exploits bh v jedi:

for information, im bh and jedi... i like both sides....

some of you say, to check if someone has your mission with /duel is an exploit. i dont think, but let us believe its true! (by the way, i never used it)

then to check if your possible target is online or not with /addfriend is also an exploit. think about it. both thinks are not used as intended. maybe exploit, maybe only a side effect. but if the one is an exploit, the other is also....

my 2 cents....

This could never be considered an exploit. As all it does is save me about 1minute. I pull mission go to Soynet for Bio-sig, rush out of town and try to launch prob, get told it will not launch as Jedi is offline. From the time I take my mission to the time I try to launch is about 1 minute. Got a term and spynet op. right next to each other and both are next to an exit of the city. hmmmm..... Try again. And yes usuing /duel is wrong as it sets the jedi up for a duel type encounter. If I ask to duel you and you accept I get first strike, but your still more ready for me. The object of a hunt is to SURPRISE the mark. Now, to the BH's who have a constant problem with this, stop approaching you mark like your on a Sunday stroll. Stalk him and attack before he know where you are coming from. Now either both sides will flame me or both will see my point.

run down the the feral wookie camp, and every jedi there will send a duel request

running an acceptduel macro will just get 3-8 jedi dueling you at once. and you have to target and /endduel each one.

it is an exploit, to use it to discover a bh has your mission. this is information OTHER game mechanics deny you.

How is it a Exploit it gives no unfair advantage to anyone, noone gets a advantage in this, the Jedi know a BH is coming for them so what if they know its you? can they attack you? all they can do is run.

Yes they will just find out if you have their mission, id say attack with the use of surprise.
