Dont forget you need the master marksman and master scout skills too.

I'm glad this post came up, I was under the impression only one discipline (rifle for example) needed to be completed to become a "master marksman" I've been using a rifle exclusively in order to gain xp's for that discipline. Obviously, needing all four will take much longer to achieve this title. In the long run that's good, will keep the number of bounty hunters lower...But man, when i think about how many hours i'm going to have to put into this game to become a bounty hunter, yet still remain married and keep a job, blows me away. Something will have to give. I'm thinking i can live just fine on foodstamps and hookers...

There are so many completely insane and retarted quotes here from so many peopleI dont know where to start, butI will just say this: AzureLochtar you are a complete moron for thinking all you needed was 40,000 combat experience, and so is your dip**edit** friend for thinking its unclear on how to make novice bounty hunter. I would feel joy in watching you cry from me yelling at you, you have pissed me off with your stupidity, may god have mercy on your soul.

You used the wrong pronoun. Instead of some, you should have used "those." Otherwise,"hunting skills"isa new subject unrelated to the subject of the previous sentences above it. That is how the English language works.

"Some" is acting as anadjective to "hunting", so it's not a pronoun. You were saying about the English Language? And I don't see how it makes any difference to what was said. But now were way off topic.

I have a question. Im aiming for BH also but when the space expansion comes out we will only have a few skill points left to spend on plioting etc. Will more skill points be available to characters for the space expansion? I ask because in the films and books you never hear of a bounty hunter that doesnt have his own ship and isnt a bloody good pilot. With 33 skill points left this cant be acheived unless we got more skill points allocated for the space exp. Any ideas?

That's a very good question, and one I believes deserves its own thread.

I'm a complete moron? Okay...perhaps I should take a screen of the Bounty Hunter tree, and we'll see how much of a "moron" I am. When you click the "Novice Bounty Hunter" box, it says, "You need 40,000 Combat XP and 6 skill points to learn this."

It DOES NOT SAY, "You must be a Master Scout and Master Marksman, have 40,000 Combat XP, and 6 skill points to learn this."

The ONLY INDICATION that Marksman and Scout are even somewhat related to Bounty Hunter is that below the "Novice Bounty Hunter" box, there are links to the Scout and Marksman skill trees. Hmmm...why are those there? There is no mention of them being required to become a Bounty Hunter...I guess they are just "recommended" since they will help you become a better Bounty Hunter. Only by reading the Prima Strategy Guide could you be 100% completely sure about the need of those two skills before becoming a BH.

If you then click on the Marksman and Scout link, you will notice the "To Bounty Hunter" link above both "Master Marksman" and "Master Scout". That indicates that they are required skills for "Novice Bounty Hunter", just like "To Rifleman" is listed above "Expert Rifle" skill. It follows the same pattern as "Specialist Rifle" being required for "Expert Rifle". Although the interface would have been better if it listed the immediate prerequisites for skills in the pop-up box, it's still pretty clear that they are required. And including them in the pop-up would have been redundant. Better, but redundant.

It may be possible to get some basic piloting skills, other people will have the same problem though having to choose between their proffession and being a decent pilot. I would prefer that they add skill points exclusive to piloting, these points could only be used for piloting professions and none of the current skills. Using your "basic" skill points should be possible though. If there are a few kinds of piloting professions this would allow people with few skills pointsleft to become a good pilot but those with more points left to become and even better pilot. It all depends on how they plan on using piloting anyway.

Is it tough to reach BH?

Yes.

Will I do it anyway?

Yes.

I LOVE (yes LOVE) the fact that its hard. I feel the satisfaction each and every skill branch. My Fiance' and I are both trying for BH. Its an upward struggle, but man, when Ihave that profession name above my head, people will knowI worked for it. I have played alot of other classes and I love each one, (crafting in this game is simply great) but I will know when I hit BH that I have strived for, and achieved, one kick ass class. It should be tough. In Star Wars, a weak bounty hunteris a dead one. 'Nuff said.

to the poster who believes you can be a bounty hunter with brawler and scout, you are sadly mistaken.

It would certainly be wonderful if that was the case, but there are no choices in prereqs, you are a marksman, or you are not a bounty hunter, simple as that.

Sorry to dissapoint you, it dissapointed me too.

Earlier there was a post that said anybody can be a bounty hunter, even a womp rat. I am sorry to tell you that not just anybody can be a bounty hunter. You can pretend that you are one if you get a destroy mission and have to take out a kreetle lair. Good for you, your a glorious bounty hunter. If you look at the Master Bounty Hunter Skill, you obtain the last bounty hunter +1 skill, which allows you to obtain BH missions that nobody has access to. This means that only a Master Bounty Hunter can truly be your Idol...Bobba Fett. I don't remember him running around killing womp rats.

The are missions that more closely resemble a Bounty Hunter, then destory missions agains a critter lair. I've had several NPC generated mission to assassinate another NPC. Of course, these are more like Hitman missions than true Bounty Hunter missions. You're given the location to go to, instead of having to have to track the target down. But, for those that want to live under a delusion, they work nicely.
