Sure, I'll duel you. Your weapons and abilities may be more powerful than when you first started the game, but in terms of death...you will die just as easily now as you did when you first started the game.

I've figured this out overtwo and a half weeks of playing...my weapons get stronger and I can kill NPCs faster, but your actual DEFENSE doesn't become any stronger. You never gain more stat points than what you start with, so the only way to have a stronger defense is to migrate points from Action and Mind over to Health.

But, as stated, while your defense never gets stronger, your weapons do...so, if you have an extremely powerful weapon, you could kill someone in two hits.

As for the person talking about mastering only one skill tree, you can do that...but you won't be BH. Let's take rifles, for example. If you want to be a rifleman, all you need to do is acquire the four "Rifle" skills under the Marksman profession and become a Rifle Specialist. Once you do that, you can go to the Rifleman profession and become a Novice Rifleman.

Allakhazam has a great tool you can use to figure what skill points you need and will have left to learn other things.

I plan on being a Bounty Hunter so I have been keeping a close tab on BH threads. The information is printed, it isn't guess work like the mythical Jedi.

Page 75. $49 retal manual (im not sure if the collectors have a different book)

Hybrid Professions

Bounty Hunter: A mercenary who earns his living by hunting down "criminals."

Requirements: Master Marksman(Marksman) & Master Scout (Scout)

There is no mention of Brawler. I'm sorry Agart but you seem to be following the path of "if you dont know a rumor, start one."

The Master Marksman and Master Scout are titles of your profession. Just as a Novice Scout with Explore IV can wear either Novice Scout or Explorer as their TITLE

When you break it down it's simple. You need to hit the gates. All 4 marksman trees mastered, All 4 scout mastered. The 640 AP for each. Then 40k combat xp. Then you can train as a novice bounty hunter.

On your CTRL P screen you can select a huge amount of titles when you are a novice BH.

explorer, hunter, survivor, ap gunman, ap carbine spec, ap rifle spec, master marksman, master scout (im not sure if you can even chose novice as well)

What i recommend is try another elite profession while grinding out the 40k combat xp needed. I plan on advancing as a creature handler while gaining the needed combat xp. It might lead to another character on another server. Or you can gain in the pistoleer, carboneer trees as a BH suppliment.

Your defense DOES go up...it's a skill bonus that is given for certain skills...check your trees

I'm glad they're making the skill costs of a BH so high, I'm up to the challenge and those that aren't will make my BH that much more special. The only concern is when the expansion comes out, how good a starfighter pilot I can make him as well. Hmmmm, may have to give up some hunting skills

You do that and you're screwed! The way I understand it, you give up any skill on the lower two trees and you no longer qualify for the hybrid tree. So, if I'm correct, you are a novice BH. You decide you don't really need survival 1, so you sell it back for your points. POOF! no more BH! Why? Think about it. You don't have all of your scout tree full anymore, so you are no longer a master scout. If you're not a master scout, you can't be a BH. Makes sense actually. If it didn't work this way what's to keep me from making novice BH, then selling back all my marksman and scout abilities to learn another trade. Maybe I'd become a BH/smuggler. Wouldn't really be fair.

Actually, you CAN'T give up skills that are required for another skill you have. Plus, I WAS talking about upper level skills. But thanks for playing anyway.

When I read, "Hmmmm, may have to give up some hunting skills", I too thought you were referring to the Hunting line of skills in the Scout tree. In retrospect, you seem to be talking about bounty hunting skills (for instance, Investigation.

You were being a bit unclear, and the person that posted afterwards and quoted you made perfect sense. "Thanks for playing" yourself, Skippy.

Here is what I've learned from MMORPG's:
1) Pet classes rule all - get someone else to do your work for you.
2) Release substandard product and fix it as you go.
3) The only real deterrent to cheating is ethics.
4) Analytical skills are often not required to be a game developer.

Hey Peeps,

For one thing, being that you need all that crap to be a bounty hunter, its a bunch of bull. Especially for us who would like to be pro at other skills, such as artisens so that we can craft our own armor and weapons. But it is a good point, in that, too many people would wanna be right up

there with boba fett. But basically, do u really need to have the job title of bounty hunter, to follow the basic actions, and ideas of a bounty hunter?? I am a huge Boba Fett fanatic, but im not gonna waste all my skill points on that. It really sucks that theres that much crap involved with becoming a bounty hunter. I may not be a official bounty hunter, but ill allways be one at heart, and i dont think you need a title to do what bounty hunters do, search out objects or people for a price. Any stupid wamp rat could do that. So power to the wanna be's. And im gonna kick some @$$.

Its not 100% clear, but yes you have to become master Marksman/master scout then go for BH training.

The upside is that you can spend the remaining points in an advanced profession which offshoots from scout/marksmen, which is bound to help you as a BH.

Actually, You DO need the title Bounty Hunter. I'm afraid you cant be an "unofficial" bounty hunter due to the fact that this isn't a PVP all the time game. Now of course you can hunt Rebels if you're an Imperial and Imperials if yer a Rebel, but to huntjust any other person such as a Smuggler with a bountyon his head, you'll need to be an official BH.So truly, you can't be an unofficial one. While currently ALL Bh's CANNOTFIGHT PCs (WHICH THEY SHOULD) , hopefully the KIND PEOPLE AT SOE WILL IMPLEMENT THAT LITTLE FEATURE THAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD. I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE THAT WOULD BE QUITE DISAPPOINTED IF THEY DIDN'T. *cries*

only time will tell.

Since we were discussing Bounty Hunting, it would follow that "hunting" wasshort for Bounty Hunting. If I was referring to skills in the Scout tree, then I would have said Scouting skills. Funny how that, being the english language, works.

So let me get this straight (for my own personal edification)

You need to get all four levels of:

Exploration

Trapping

Hunting

Survival

Carbine

Pistol

Rifle

and Ranged Weapon Support??

By getting all four levels of these eight skills you "Master" both Marksman and Scout whereby quialifying for BH, BUT in addition you also need:

40,000 Combat exp

and 620 Apprentice exp??

Is this all correct? Sorry for dumbing it down to basics but I really want to make sure I understand what is required.

Thanks
