How can you buy a PROBOT? I've seen what they can do and I want one, but there aren't any in the bazaars.

You'll never see a Probot on the bazaar. Remember that the bazaars have a 3K price limit.

Also, please remember that you can't tell ANYTHING about the details of the droid by looking at the deed when you buy it!

That means you really need to find a reputable droid engineer and deal personally with him. Do *NOT* buy from a vendor unless you know the droid engineer's reputation!

Another point: droids are very customizable. My Advanced Probot is also a crafting station and cargo hauler, and he's got an amusing personality chip. If you want to pick your type of crafting station and module, you will need to speak directly with the droid engineer who makes it.

On my server the regular probots sell for around 15K and the Advanced Probots (same thing, better stats) sell closer to 25K.

Neat trick for those who play healers (doctors / medics) in the field. Get a Probot with the medical module (allows wound healing in the field) and also a Food/Chemical crafting station module so you can make medicines. When your group goes into a fight, tell your Probot to "guard" you. He won't attack the monsters without direct orders, thus avoiding the exp drain for the rest of your hunting party. However if a monster goes after you (why do they like healers so much?) then the Probot will jump into the fray.

Very useful!

Probots are so useful. I bought mine as I needed help with some destroy missions to take on bigger creatures and as a general body guard, and I could use a crafting station and I don't want to have to go back to a city. So my Probot is fitted with a general item crafting station along with some currently bugged storage space.

It means when he's low on power I can craft and experiment my own batteries and I can make pretty much anything else I need when out in the field. I also managed to take on and kill 6 sludge panthers before the droid was incapped. I gave him a battery and then we just headed home. I could have stored him I guess but it I didn't want to waste a camp to bring him out again. They recharge HAM on their own slowly anyway. But having him around means I can so much more easily solo bigger creatures. And the hide comes in real useful for my tailor.

"Marvin"also has some personailty chip (not sure which one) but he's so funny when fighting. Comes out with things like "I wonder if there is an afterlife for droids. Probably no, just my luck." and "It'll take more than that to bring me down. Not MUCH more , I admit..." and "I'm sure it's great to see you. Sorry if I sound depressed, I'm always depressed."

Marvin cost me 24,000 credson Eclipse/Naboo.

The easiest, quickest and best way to find out who is selling probots on YOUR server is to go to your server page. Chances are that you will either:

A) See a thread for a vendor that sells Probots

B) Start your own thread entitled "I would like to Buy A Probot"

If you do the latter, your thread should be hammered with vendors trying to sell you their brand of Bot. PIck the best deal and enjoy.

*** ALSO, know that there are regular probots that go @ 15k and Advanced Probots that go for @ 25k.(The advanced bots are the ones that do between 100-130 damage)

Probots are very usefull, especially in lower levels. You can use the probot to tank most everything on the starting planets, and tank most things on endor as well. Very usefull for us ranged people. Just send in your probot first and allow it to get agro, then just sit back and pop it till its dead. The nice thing about probots is that it does little damage, so it takes less xp away then some creatures you can tame.

Why water your probot down with a crafting station? You can have multiple droids you know.

Well honestly, the Probot should be nerfed a bit.

Don't get me wrong - I love having a powerful indestructable tank as my pet! But at the same time... I'll never see that Droid Engineer again.

The Droid Engineer profession will be a sadly, sickly thing if droids all last forever in perfect condition, without needing repairs or replacements.

I got my first probot and went out to test it. When I said attack, it attacked but only when it ran or floated over the the target and then attacked. I thought these probots had range attack also. This is a standard probot w/armor 1. What do I need to do to make him do range attacks?
