How can you buy a PROBOT? I've seen what they can do and I want one, but there aren't any in the bazaars. If you know, contact me. Claki Crestingwaver, Radiant Server.

IM going to post because of all the good points here, but this post has scouts in mind. I am a scout and i have a probot. I use a DLT20a also. If any of you are scouts i highly advise you to get a probot. I was able to get around 9k exp hunting blue cridders in about 3 to 4 hours. and that was going pretty lax on the hunting. They are well worth the 20k. just run a few missions for about 2 hours or so and go get one. They are one Hell of a help on the feild for scouts and if you dont have the best armor (like me) they make great tanks. My one warning on this is not to use them on NPC's with guns. They dont hold up that well agenst them, but as far a creatures go they are some of the best feild support you could ask for if going solo.

i believe the '10 missions with a droid' thing has been declared an 'exploit', and was 'fixed' in a recent patch - not sure you can do it anymore.

as to probots (same as with pets, i guess) - is there a way tomake the commands you issue themappear ina separate chat thread so everyone in the vicinity doesn't get 'spammed' with them?

that seems to be one of the beefs in groups that are using ch's of late - as an aspiring probot owner, just hoping to avoid having to do the same thing to my groupies.

Do you get any kind of XP when your Probot takes part in a fight?

You only get xp for the work YOU do.

Its a crosspost, but there werent any recent responses on the Marksman board.....

Where can one scare up a probot? Do we have to wait for a good droid engineer? Or can we usually find one on the bazaar?

Also another question, how do you maintain the probot? Batteries, reparing etc....

Thanks in advance!

I believe the bazar has a 3k limit so you most likely will not find probots on it. I could be wrong but I do not recall seeing anything above 3k on the bazar and I hear probots go for around 15k.

I got an ADV Probot with all the modules I wanted/could fit in it for 20k. If you're on Starsider I'd reccommend giving "Spoon" a tell if you have the credits. He's really nice, and I think the Probot is worth it. Makes running hard missions much easier. Mine has 3190 HAM, 1.56 attack speed, and 130-140 damage.

Michela on bloodfin makes great regular and Adv. Probots with 2x lvl 3 armor modules. She only sell probot with the armor modules she can currently make. She sold me a prbot for 15k.

BUYER BEWARE. Ask what armor mod is on the probot. Also so people are trying to scam others by selling probots for 30k with amor mod 1 dont pay this insane price.

I would strongly suggest that you find a Master Droid Engineer (use the search feature on the People screen!) and purchase from them directly.

Remember that Probots and Advanced Probots are customized items. The Droid Engineer can add in various modules (crafting modules, cargo module, data module, armor levels, and personality chips) depending on what you want. Buying out of a vendor doesn't give you the customization options - and there is absolutely no way to tell from the deed what you're getting! Buying directly from a reputable DE will give you a better product.

As for maintenance: you can heal and recharge your Probot just by storing it to the datapad and recalling it again... but of course you can only do that in a town, a campsite, or near your residence.

Assuming you are out in the wilds and don't want to stop and camp, you'll have to feed him a droid battery every now and then. Batteries are cheap craftable items, so artisans can make you a stack.

Probots do take damage and can be incapped (funny graphics when that happens btw) but theycannot be destroyed, and are fully restored when you save and recall them.
