Thread: jedi cloak and run

Here's 2 strategies to try:
1) get a droid or pet to follow them BEFORE you attack. let it get close so they can't run off as easily, so they'll have trouble cloaking. If they're catching youand running early get a friend with a pet who is not a bh to go hang around or talk to them, then have the pet follow them. It'll catch them off guard and they won't be able to attack the pet.
True, it *could* work, if the Jedi was really stupid and unprepared. Otherwise, that CL 18 bot is dead before you even get a shot off. "Having a friend" around should not always be the solution, if BH/Jedi is intended to be 1v1...
2) Apply a DOT (or ?state?). If i remember correctly, jedi can't cloak when they have a dot (eg bleed, poison, disease) and maybe even a state (blind, stun, dizzy--not so sure about states). As a BH you can apply blind, stun, and dizzy, as well as a bleed without picking up any more skills outside of BH.
I don't think is true. I could be wrong. Other than bleed, I don't have any DoTs. I could be wrong, but I don't think any of the states you've described prevent a Jedi from cloaking or de-cloaking.

thats my point exactly. MBH does not have the stat mods and akill points to be combined with any template to properly go toe to toe with a jedi.
As I said, MBH / CM 44x4 / whatever has a good chance of surviving a toe-to-toe encounter with a MLS as long as the BH uses the right food and strategy. Paralyze is very powerful if used right, CM 4xxx heals are uber, especially if combined with Ruby Bliel / Instant Stims, and BE-enhanced x4xx attacks can overcome Healer 3xxx Force Infusions.
This is true, and is a good template. I've watched a battle last 30+ minutes against this template. What did the Jedi do when the tides finally turned against him? Yep, you guessed it - FR. 30+ minutes of fighting for a person to click one button (FR or FC) to escape death is a silly PvP tactic in any game. What a waste of time...

Thats where the strategy part comes into play - KD and Paralyze work wonders in keeping a Jedi close, even a Force Runner. No running when knocked down.

If I have one attack in my queue, that Jedi with FR 3 is loooooong gone before I have a chance to change it. That's not a tactic. KD is also on a 30-second timer. FR is a one-time escape tactic. There's a huge difference. Also, I can't think of any combat profession that can't cure a 'state' with one click. It's not tactics that's the issue here - it's balance.

you coudl get a freind to use a droid instead cus then he wont just blow it up in 3 sec
This thread is truly getting sickening. It's Jedi saying "we're not uber" and BHs saying "we want a chance to kill a Jedi, not lose them from radar to one click of a button.
(* btw, I already addressed this issue in a previous post- Jedi/BH is now *1v1* - Getting a friend to throw a bot at 20 meters is just as cheap as house running. Personally, this is NOT the solution (although yes, it can currently work.) It also does not prevent FR.

Dont look at me, i said cloak should be nerfd so that you cant use it while in combat, and as for the force runner's burst run food does wonder's at catching them.

CU design - react to your opponents moves. If you are not able to hit "Esc" - "KD" when you see the Jedi with an animation below his feet, you simply are too slow. You have 35m range with a pistol, even with FR3 the Jedi will need some time to get out of your range - and the KD will buy you time to get in range again. Paralyze lasts longer than 30 seconds, so as MBH / CM 44x4 you should always have a KD ready when you need it.
You can use parawan to keep yourself within 20 meters as well. If you are up against someone with cloak chances are there template does not have much offensive output... so don't be worried about staying close. As for cloak not working in combat, that's like saying you shouldnt be able to use a saber while fighting.... it's an escape tool for a reason, because us force powers guys are soft and die very easy.

until then, you are peeing in the wind with any attempt to force jedi to fight how / when you want.
