Thread: Did the Empire really want *all* Jedi dead?
You forget to mention that at the time this game was being made, Episode 3 was barely a glimmer in GL's mind. Ep 3 came AFTER the implemetation of this game

not to be rude, but what does that have to do with anything?
we have to talk about SW in the context of everything that has ever happened in it ever that we know about. what was right for yesterday isn't right for today.

Fair enough post, and valid enough. The thing is, if we were to attempt to explain why those Jedi were never on the terminals the answer would be: because there was no one to report them. I'm not saying that the vis system in this game isn't borked, i'm saying that according to all star wars sources, during this time the emperor and vader are actively seeking out all jedi(dark or light) and destroying them. Dark jedi are a challenge to the emperor, and light jedi could end his reign of terror.

This is true but consider this. Justbeing a Force User does not make one a Jedi. The Jedi are an Order of Force Users that abide by a Code.
As you say, Palpantine said all "Jedi" are enemies of the Republic. This was intentional IMO because he knew there were other Force Users around that could be used to his advantage.

I can see that. But for the purposes of this game, everyone that wields a saber or uses force powers (player character wise), they are Jedi. Whether they follow the Jedi Code, Sith Code or whatever, they are still Jedi in terms of this game. Order 66 is in effect, so they will be hunted.

its a game, there are jedi, get over it already. And if you guys want to fight the droves of light jedi, without darkside support you're more than welcome to. Somehow i doubt the Empire will be able to stand long without it though. Its not the movies, play the game and shut up, or leave.

How about u shut up. If u can't make a post without flaming someone and without understanding what a person is saying, do us all a favor anddon't speak. I swear you people look for any excuse to talk **edit** to someone.
Sorry I cant be bothered to read all of that OP (nearly fell asleep reading first paragraph) or any of the replies about whether EU is canon or not.
Could you just highlight for my benefit the bits in EU that mention Jedi gank squads duelling outside Bestine SP shouting at passers-by stuff like "duel me nub" or "go and declare ya **edit**" as I have often wondered where that came from.
If you cant find any stuff like that could I just remind you, This is a game, it has nothing to do with the films apart from 2 words in the title, In this game all Jedi are criminals and hunted.

oh i understand completly what people are saying. This was directed to the people that whine and cry about the number of jedi in the game. i have no beef with you whatsoever,so i would appriciate it ifyou would stop talkingdown to me. All i ever see on these boards is whining and crying about how jedi exploit or how they shouldnt be able to run etc etc. Not just this board, but the jedi too. People take this game way too seriously. Maybe i wasa little out of hand, but there was no reason to say to me what you did.

it doesnt get any clearer than that. How many of you are FS?? Howmanyhave the RangedAccuracy tree, using aspects of the force to guide your shots? Using some of the Logic here, some would say you deserve death as well under order 66.

I just can't stand people who get on these boards and talk trash to someone hiding behind a computer screen knowing full well that if we were face to face, they wouldn't even try it. And as far as this statement goes, I wouldn't mind being hunted. Add me to the terminals for having 3 branches filled. See. I can accept that being Jedi entails being hunted. I have known that would be the case ever since I started playing in 03. Order 66 is still in effect. Palpatine decreed it. And when I get me last 3 branches filled and unlock, I accept it.
It's funny howsome Jedi always say that this isn't the movies, but when it comes to a BH or someone else kicking their ass, they get pissed off saying that in the movies it would have never have happened like that. That they should be just as powerful as they were in the movies. You tell me which is it?
