Thread: Combat Medics?

If they nerf the CM healing abilities (which is stupid considering that that is what a CM is good for...healing), then they had better add to his offensive ranged accuracy or speed or something. Because being a MBH MCM leaves you with very little ranged speed, accuracty and not very good with any particular weapon. Unlike MBH Pistoleer/rifleman/carbineer. So if they nerf healing, they had best add to some ranged stats.

They aren't nerfing it.This is just more BS by jedi who can't stand any template beating them.Total wishful thinking so don't worry about it.

If you are just going CM and no ranged profession it does, otherwise no
So then you just want ranged CM nerfed, because ranged is so vastly overpowered?
bmill wrote:As I originally indicated, it was only a rumor that I had heard. Seems to have been dispelled. However, I have added CM 4xxx to my template and I fairly enjoy it. I've noticed however that you can inadvertantly heal your dueling partner with spray or toss though. Not a great thing, but it's avoidable. So last night I was in Theed hanging about, and entered a duel with a level 72 CM and Carbineer. I don't think that this person was a master Carbineer, but probably was an MCM. The CM opened with paralysis and then blitzed me with thyroid, some kind of blind, a CM snare, seemed like a negative action regen state, and set me on fire. I was powerless do anything but watch until the paralysis wore off. Nice opening move.... So the fight continued, and I was doing massive damage with my 1318 trandoshan rifle, but at the slow speed that the thyroid caused, I was nowhere near fast enough to deal out enough damage to heal against. So this went on for a few minutes, me not being able to deal damage fast enough, the CM's paltry laser carbine not being able to get through my superior defenses, but enough to have me healing every 30-45 seconds or so. This CM was good though, I dropped the attack prior to thyroid wearing off and was ready to blast away with KD/Startle/Critical which, with my rifle is typically good for around 1500-2000 damage against an opponent not stacked against the damage type, as this CM was.Never got the opportunity to land all that. AS SOON as the thyroid wore off, I was paralyised again, and the above was repeated. The duel continued and was basically a stalemate until I fouled up on my own and hit a few wrong keys in succession. I conceded the loss, and the CM corpsed me. Real nice, right? This after she established that it was a no "friendly", deathblow duel... But that's besides the point.I felt that given more time, and my vastly higher damage output capacity that I could have worn the CM's mind away and blasted the pants off her. Eventually we dueled again, and this time, I did a very good job of staying out of her range and was only thyroided/set flame/action debuffed once. The whole rest of the fight however, she had a friend with CM 4xxx (at least) bacta tossing her. So I ended, and was called out for it. There was an exchange of words about the assist and we returned to the fight, again I did very well almost had her twice, and the friend kept healing, I ended again. This circle went a third time, this time with my having another healer and the CM with her healer. Again.... stalemate and I ended.Funny this was, that the CM couldn't accept that it wasn't because of her superior skill that she won, it was that I had fouled up, and done it at the worst possible time. You say this after a fight, and you are making excuses, lol.... The second fight, she just could not take me down, and then the end part with all the outside player assisted healing was just a farce and no real comparision. But of course the CM and her buddies were trashing me to everyone who walked by, etc, etc, etcAs irritating as it was, I have to admit that the CM profession overall is a great offensive neutralizer, but I would still take my rifles, pistols, and carbines over it anyday of the week, and twice on Sunday. But that's just my style, I'm more direct.
For anyone without the attention span required to read this, allow me to summarize:
I had a long fight with a CM which seemed to be very evenly matched. I made a mistake and lost. Please nerf CM so that I can win even when I screw up.

Lol... nowhere in that post did I say that CM was overbalanced and required a nerf. You are a fool to think that was my intention. It was written to illustrate the point that CM's aren't the "end all" "be all" that people make them out to be. The point WAS that this MCM despite all the states and whatnot simply could not produce enough damage to take me down with me having CM 4xxx only. I couldn't produce enough damage FAST enough with the CM's speed decreaser on me to take her out... it's really quite simple.
You have a history of history of posting baselss accusations and flaming people with no credible reason to. Thanks for your opinion though, however un-needed that it was.
Never once did I whine that CM's were overbalanced. I was attempting to get either confirmation or denial of a rumor that I had heard. You on the other hand, took the pleasure in flaming me a few times in this post, and have done so in the following other posts:

Wow.... funny that since you don't have a history of it, that I was able to find some within the first 2 pages of your posting.
I said it before, and I'll say it again, nothing in my post was a whine a rant, or a call for the nerf stick. Just a discussion. Lay off.
Karbal wrote:Ok... once and for all .. you can't nerf one healing profession without nerfing them all!! That means Doc's CM's and Jedi.
All three are pretty darn close accross the board. The MDoc may be the best of them all, but then again, he's a Master Doctor!! There are a lot of CM 4000's and Doc 4000's and Jedi Healing 4000's. It is designed to be that way. It's a choice you have to make, sacrifice some accuracy, speed, and root to dabble in healing. If I choose to dabble my skill points to pick up CM 4000 then why sound I be penalized or nerfed when the Doc 4000 and Jedi Healing 4000 can heal just as well as me and not be nerfed.
If you don't like being beat by a healing dabbler then adjust your template so you can.
I was anti medic since game launch until I threw my hat into the Jedi hunting arena. I had to figure out a way to beat them somehow. I picked up CM 4000 and have been very successfull. Not just in PVP but PVE as well.
Try it out. You will like it.
They actually are not close accross the board, a cms/docs healing is much higher then a jedis healing bc you guys have 3 types of heals while we only have one, so you have 3 timers and us 1 which raises your hps (healing per second) to a much higher level, thats why a cm or a doc can heal 4500 dmg in 3 secs and it takes jedi 18 seconds to do that.
So dont say they need to nerf jedi more.
Id say lower jedi mind/action/force costs and raise cm costs a tad bit, I have no problem at all though with the amount you guys heal though, makes no difference a jedi with a good saber will win.
bmill wrote:I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinions of others, right? You have yours, I have mine.I still haven't seen any supporting arguments from you to back up your claim that I am calling for a nerf of CM healing OR that I was whining.
Yes, you were very careful to word your posts so that you could claim this. Well done.
