Guys, guys, guys

settle down.

So what if Tanks told them all how to pull a mission and launch a droid. That is the easy part. He hasn't told them anything of tactics, dirty tricks, how to properly set up a bomb droid, etc. Just don't tell your secrets until after this craze dies down and the wannabes get weeded out.

Heck, I have been a BH for over almost 9 month and I am still relearning my tune in terms of the new combat system. I haven't even fully respeced yet, I am still playing around with skill combinations and what type of gun I like, etc.

Until then, the JEDI can continue to pad their combat rating with noobs. That is fine, that will make them soft.

GJ Tanks... Lets see if we can get all servers full of Respec BH's, using the broken stopping shot, so they can gank on new Padawans trying to earn a 200K low level Jedi box... which currently would take weeks...

Ty for showing respect for people that took months grinding FS, using millions in armor, foods, weapons, etc... just to get ganked by one of the million new bh's while trying to level the only way new padawans can level... hunting with a couple friends in this new wonderful "must group" system you've created

Pistoleers stopping shot is not broken. The root from that shot is not meant to break on another shot. You are thinking of the Smuggler root.

I am still frustrated people can respec Investigation.

I am a respec'd MBH and not ashamed to admit it. i feel i worked hard for my pre-cu master rifleman and master swords man. That was my template for several months before CU. I was finally starting to learn and become good at the little things that make a true gamer great. Then BAM! CU comes along and basically makes everything i worked for change to something I no longer enjoyed. I have earned the right to respec to different templates so that i can again find a place in this game that I can enjoy and have fun with. At this point BH is a very versitile profession that allows for a LOT of personal preference and individuality. Things like that don't stay secret for long.

Just try to hang in there everybody. The adjustment period won't last forever. Everyone should respec as much as possible to experiment with as many different templates as they can. Find your fun zone...i dare you.

I'm a respec also, didn't have much professions to pick from. I was a combat medic or over 8 months but when the CU hit. I just couldn't play my super nerf'ed char anymore. 1112 mind poison and 854 mind disease turned into 200-300 poison and 3-5 disease. Ok maybe we shouldn't have been able to make something like that. But all my dodge +'s gone +23 on my shirt made useless, +s for acc while shand/moving. Bah Bah taking out my first Jedi yesterday made it worth it. Just wish there was some doc's around, then could get them rez'ed without feeling that bad about their gear getting damaged. An having the extra pistol speed is nice, also starting to like my pre-cu elite carbine with 990 max damage. Makes up for both of the DE10 pistols that are only for looks now. This CU turned this game into a group, ranged combat based game. Sooner or later they will rebalance this balanced CU. Then everyone will be happy, I hope.

Reading the updates for May 5th, I think they are in the process of making Jedi more powerful. There really is no reason why they should be so easy to take down (not that I will try, I neither want to grind it or kill it, I merely ignore it).

You know that scene, the one where Marlon Brando did that little hand wave right before he died. Yeah. That was beautiful man.

I wrote this before the NGE, now I feel like Brando

I actually didn't respec to BH, just used the 4x xp to grind my way to it. I'm 1xx4 at the moment (goes with my Master Rifleman) and I'm learning the tricks of the trade this way.

I would like to ask one question though: if we kill a Jedi, does he lose his xp? I hear lots of talk about Jedi being "set back".

Yes... a jedi will lose 2X the bounty in xp.

Speaking of griefing and hating.

People are respecing to BH. GET OVER IT. It was idiotic before; grinding the invest tree was broken.

You respeced to MBH and now want to enjoy hunting Jedi, but have a problem do not know how the profession works.

Well, the following is a short summary.

Bounty Hunters hunt marks, NPC and Jedi, using droids which are sold by droid engineers. There are two kinds of droids, an Arakyd droid, and a seeker droid. You will use an Arakydn only once in a mission, but might have tolaunch several seekers.

The Arakyd droid is used only once. It is the droid you use to find the planet that your mark is on. You will use the seeker droid once you arrive at the planet.

The sequence for a bounty mission is terminal->informant->Arkaydn->seeker->mark.

Lets start a mission:

  • Go to a BH terminal and look for missions. Once you select a mission it will be downloaded to your datapad.

  • Next you need to talk to an informant (list is stickied), but the most common one used is in Kaadara next to the star port (convenient).

  • You talk to the informant, and he will give you the bio-signature of your mark.

  • Now, you are ready to launch and Arakyd probe. You have to go outside the city limits for this.

  • Using the radial menu on the probe, launch it, you will see some system messages and in a short while (20 secs or so), the probe will land.

  • Go to the Probot that lands, click on it to activate the radial menu and transmit the bio signature.

  • After a short while you will get a message saying that your mark is on Planet XXX.

  • Go to the planet, and you will see a waypoint to your mission. That was the mark location at the time you transmitted the bio-signature.

  • Launch a seeker droid, using "Find and Track" option.

  • After a while your WP will update and will keep on updating at regular intervals. If you get a message saying "...droid lost target", launch another seeker.

  • Go to your mark and collect you bounty.

Now, the above sequence of events is for any mark. Of course for Jedi, you have to check to see if he/she is online. Best way to do this is to put them on your friends' list. Do not pick up the mission of Jedi that is not online.

Most importantly, try an NPC mission if you have never hunted bounties before. It is a good exercise to learn the mechanics of droids and missions, plus 30K is much better than regular destroy missions anyway.

I love how the BH Correspondent glosses over the details of actually following through on the last step. I love the respec BH's, they give me practice in post CU PvP to take on 'real' bh's that might actually bring a friend. BH's think they're hot stuff with some pistoleer roots/snares, but they tend to panic when the jedi rushes them with a root, snare, kd and lighting fast saber attacks
