Thread: 'Hunters: for the good of the game . . . Lay off the Paddies for the next few weeks . . .
What the orriginal poster here is saying, is to lay off the padwans untill they have some ability to regrind the xp that they've lost.
Even with mls, I'm able to kill 4 or maybe 5 lvl 79 creatures before my force runs out. force cost on specials has increased by about 5x. not to mentioned we also have an action cost on specials too. the current solo grind consists of.... kill 4 or 5 creatures to gain about 4k xp then spend the next 5-10mins sitting around letting force regen. To grind solo high level jedi will only gain around 20k per hour. low level padawans will be lucky to get anything.
if we want to get anyway decent xp we need to group, which means vis, which means BH come. As it is, killing a 150k mark could mean a week or so of regrinding. and thats ignoring any xp loss from cloning.
The whole argument of "should have stayed of the terms" is obsolete now.
The topic starter is mearly asking to keep hunts aimed at jedi worth 200k or more untill low-mid level paddawans have some viable way of regaining negitive xp.

I'm not talking about the relative balance between BH&J . . . I'm talking about the Upnerf being very, very hard on unfinished templates finishing and/or getting out of an xp hole. I don't care about Knights, I wouldn't care about fight-clubbers if the FRS was online.
daz007 said: well they shouldn't be logging in until it is fixed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a valid point, but they're just as curious about the Upnerf as you are and want to test their skills. All I'm saying is to give the unfinished templates a week or two for everything to settle down after a few balance passes. Will a few days of NOT ganking paddies really hurt you?
Tucheck said: Don't listen to this BS....Paddies want to level, and that's all. 150K can give me a good run for the money. I will go after whomever, whenever, however....as it was the player that got on the terms who made it possible.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is also a valid point. Paddies want to level. But if they can't level this week or next week at all, and/or they lose a zillion xp, THEY WILL QUIT THE GAME JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE and our game will die because there aren't enough subscribers. It's bait and switch, Tucheck --- let them get fixed, let them think they're going to be OK, then when they ARE balanced a little bit more, THEN you can gank all the paddies you want. I'm not going to mix threads and make this personal here --- I just refer anyone who is curious to Tucheck's "Force Infusion" thread for Tucheck's story.
MasterofEverything said: i'd rather hunt NPCs and have no jedi than jedi missions and a lot of Jedi. So, no.

No, I don't think you would. You're not going to get rid of the Knights (eBay, anyone?), you're just going to "grief" the paddies. If they're afk-grinding in the Warren, fine, jeez, kill 'em if they're that stupid, but the jedi haven't been completely balanced yet, so your "victories" are hollow anyway.
Ezis said: I would agree with this, but I happen to have a Padawan that I saw on the terminals today for a 226k payout. He only has 0-1-0-1 in Jedi skills, yet he's got the same price on his head as a full template, double master Jedi. I can't say I agree with the price on my head, whoever comes for me is going to get an awful lot of money for a short, easy fight.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ooof. That would suck to be you. I would come after you if you were 226k. I was unaware that that was possible. Yikes.
evil-bountyhunter said: already killed a paddie my first kill infact man i was so cheap another BH was attacking so i just waited and when she got incaped i DB befor the other BH man im cheap.........and i love it

Well, at least you didn't get the mission together and go kill a paddie.
DarthKaelan said: I was honestly willing to think about it until this post [where BOYD says to "go kill yourself"].

Ok, if there's some assclown who's being obnoxious, fine, go kill him. But please remember that there ARE care-bear players who just want to swing a 'saber around and be able to defend themselves who DON'T grief people or threaten them.
All I am trying to accomplish with this suggestion is to keep SW:G alive. If the next week or two gives paddies a reason to quit, as well as the crafters and entertainers and doctors, then in about six weeks, not only will there be no jedi....there'll be no servers...

If you are hunting el cheapo missions just for thrills, at the very least do it solo. There is no reason a bounty hunter needs help for missions under 150k.
Unfinished template paddies have a very hard time right now getting ANY xp and staying off the terminals.
In a week or two, a balance pass will probably change things a bit in their favor, and all bets are off.
Does the big game hunter kill every elephant in the jungle? No, he only kills a few and lets the babies grow up so their worth fighting.

sure hunt them hunt them into the ground ............then they will cry becouse they sure can loose a ton of xp but they cant earn any ...know what happens then sparky?
Negative xp wipe bh's get the nerf stick so hard it will make our heads spin. Low level paddies get beffed up and you will be the first to cry.
FourD wrote:Some people would refer to that as the inability to fight solo (made much worse with a jedi). The CU forces people to fight in groups, then punishes the jedi for doing it. No I'm not one of them, but they do have an incredibly hard time right now.
Level 70 Jedi padawan
Only about 10 of those levels are actual jedi skills
This means that when he whips out his saber, he is the equivilant of a level 10.
Unfortunatly, to get any exp, he has to kill level 70 things.
Quite a problem isn't it?
I was hunting today in a group when a bh came and killed ourfriendly jedi, depriving him of all the work he's done since the CU. It's a harsh time for them, just lay off a bit until your not brutally smashing someone's good time.
Not a problem at all. Well, it is a problem, but its not one that's HARD to solve.
As soon as someone completes their Padawan trials they need to surrender most (if not all) of their combat boxes (keep maybe novice medic). Now the Padawan is a low level (not sure what Novice Medic gives you for a combat level) and can get XP off the low level critters. Hunt on the starter planets away from the major cities (Coronet, Mos Eisley, Anchorhead, Bestine, Theed, Kaadara) where you can find lots of low level creatures to kill.
I can already hear the whine: 'BUT THEN I WON'T HAVE MY NON-JEDI SKILLS TO DEFEND MYSELF'. Umm... everytime someone mentions picking on low level padawan, BHs bring up the fact that Padawans still have their non-Jedi skills to fight with. And the BHs get ignored. Now, that I'm suggesting your drop them, you'll say you NEED them to stay alive.
You can level in the game solo (it takes time, but you can do it). Buy a high quality combat droid or good pet to group with. They won't cause visibility, but they will sure help you out. Been using a probot combat droid to do the novice BH missions. Makes things MUCH easier.
Learn, adapt, and get on with the game. If you can't adapt, don't complain to other people: it's YOUR paradigm problem. I'm already adapting... I didn't get my template completed before the CURB hit so I'm having to grind it out... I'm learning, I'm adapting... and I'm not whining.

Interesting post...but I must disagree. Any of you on Corbantis know that there is in our future, on not too distant a horizon, when the Jedi will outnumber the regular profs. I don't think they belong in the first place. I mean anytime, day or night, you can go to Coronet, Theed, MO on Dant and see Jedi dueling. It's rather frustrating. So, no let up here.
So your answer to the growing number of Jedi is to kill them? Do you really think that will reduce their numbers? It doesn't seem that you realize this, but there is a cloner they can use by the way...
The real answer to the high number of Jedi in this game is to provide other high end professions as alternatives to the Jedi. This would give players something else to do after they have mastered a dozen professions and have turned to Jedi because they are bored of the rest of the game. This has been brought up many times, but since it requires work on the part of the developers it probably won't happen.
Yes. That is his answer. Yes, they can clone. The goal here is that they'll be disheartened and stop being a jedi. That's the system the Devs have in place to control the Jedi population. They got rid of permadeath, because people were whining that Jedi sucked because that made it hard to grind, and blaming the Devs. So the Devs came up with an ingenius system where the Jedi would blame the BHs instead, for making their chosen profession a pain. It's really a beautiful move on their part. They get to claim that A. they're not responsible for any disenchantment with the Jedi profession, and B. That they're not responsible if Jedi aren't rare.
umm first off to some people who dont have a clue... take your armor off and try hunting.... you get hit so hard by mobs around your level you spend more time healing then you do actually hitting the mob you have to turn and run...
this is what padawans have to face.... mid level jedis have it even worse then ever because they dont have enough back up professions to help them...
i wont hunt padawans while this mess is in place... takes like 15k an hour and hunting 4 levels lower then what my alt jedi was...now add in the time after killing that one mob the wait it takes to wait for force regen to get back because channel force 3 times and you are below 2000 health with ease...
there is a lot of bugs and problems with jedi right now....
and if you guys keep killing padawans will end up quitting and there goes our content.. the only content in game.... i see more knights quitting as it is on my server... i say give a week or two for them to iron out bugs....if anybody thinks a padawan can get knight in a week or two you cant be that stupid to even think that....
BH's for once have the game on almost even ground, so we're not supposed to hunt?
I don't think so.

Ok did i misunderstand this post? Is someone actually suggesting that I shouldn't hunt low level jedi's? Interesting does that mean I can suggest Jedi's don't camp loot spots?
I find all you Jedi's on this forum funny, you loved it when you were worshipped my the masses as gods, and now you weak as sh1t you moan like my wife!!!
Theres more chance of hell freezing over before I stop hunting ANY Jedi which appears on the terms.
I am a pvp god still and i dare you and ure lil friends to come prove me wrong .
Simple fact is this hunt low levels into massive xp loss =paddies cry=-xp wipe+bh gets nerfed+low lvl paddies get beefed up=you are the first to cry .
