OK, I am not coming here to whine or anything first off, I just wanna know where everyone decides to draw the line. Do you kill a LD Jedi or not? Tonight I was out killing aakuans, whena blue dot comes along and opens fire. He roots me, then tries to kite me, so when the root where off I turned the other way and blasted his BARC into oblivion, and activated Improved FR to escape. I am all out of force, so its run or die. I get a few tells about the BARC (nuthing bad) and I get a few tells about runnin away (what, knights can't run either? ). I told the BH I had low force and a really unstable connection, and I had LD'd a ton earlier that night. I play on 56k so I LD frequently, but lo and behold I LD right after that last tell and my toon is sitting in the world helpless because of my comp problems. Needless to say, I came back in in the cloner.

But where do you guys draw the line? Do you kill an LD jedi, even if it's a computer problem?

As a BH I would never bring my BARC on a hunt, cause I couldn't blame a jedi if he blew it up.... however if he did, well ya there still wouldn't be mercy even if i was previously inclined to show some.

BTW you say the BARCs are repairable, does that mean that they cannot be destroyed like swoops, that they are always repairable?

If you LD in a fight, I don't care what you are or anything about you. I will DB you. Even if you're the same faction as me, I don't tolerate exploiting a TEF, mouthing off, or LDing in battles.

yea BARC's are repairable. It was designed to where you had BARC repair tools (master artisans make em), that would be hard to make. But currently, you can just pull it out in a garage and repair it for no creds. Dunno if t's intended or not.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!!!!

Omg, the things you don't find out about unless you at least try. Here, I've been buying repair tools for 200-400k! /DOH! Imma go cry like a baby now...

OK. I'm back. To answer the original poster's question:

Personally, I think there's no "honor" in it. I know, I know... Depending upon your point of view, you may feel that bounty hunters "don't" or "shouldn't" have any honor to begin with. But personally, I really love one-on-one PVP. I have bases that I've paid tons of xp for that I don't lay because I know (not it's a possibility or that it might happen--I KNOW) that if I do, 4-16 jedi will show up within 24 hours and blow 'em up. I don't jump starport to starport, looking for a fight anymore because the only people who go special forces are those that are quite ready for the challenge, especially since TEF's have been removed where attacking NPC's is concerned. I don't stand in Theed or MO spamming "Anyone wanna duel?" because to me, it's just kind of lame. So, either I bought better armor, or the other guy bought a better gun or one of us didn't eat the right food... whatever. To me, hunting is what brings the adrenaline rush, which has so completely addicted me to this game. It's trying to stay as close to my mark as possible without him knowing I'm there... It's waiting for the right moment to strike and jumpin' on him from outta nowhere... It's a bit of cat-and-mouse with a little chess and some PVP thrown in. When it's all said and done and one of us is in the cloner, whether it's him or me, I'm always left a little shaky and I LOVE it!

I had a mark about two weeks ago who was in the Myydrill Caverns when I picked up his mission. I checked each instance before I found him, then got as close to him as I could (just this side of the unsor'is) and sent my R3 after him. He freaked and ran and the chase was on! However, he made it to his ship, where he pretty-much stayed for most of the next two days. I sent seekers every once in a while to try and determine whether or not he had landed. Whenever the seeker actually launched, rather than telling me my mark was "not online", I sent and arakyd to find out where he was and proceeded over. Sometimes the arakyd would actually tell mehe was in space and which sectorhe was in, so a couple times I launched and went to go say "hello" before landing and going back to my business. (still cannot attack, even if arakyd gives you a w/p in space). This goes on for THREE DAYS! Up and down, back and forth... trying to resist the temptation to just drop the mission and pick up another one. I kept reminding myself of how satisfying this hunt will be when I eventually catch up to him.

I had picked up a few parts while in space, so I decided to go see if any of them would be good replacements for parts already on my ships before I sold them. While I was in the starport, working on the terminal, my /target macro picks him up! I didn't even think about it; I swtiched to my food toolbar and ate everything I had lined up, then back to my combat bar just as I rounded the corner. Stopping shot, advanced chargeshot, confusionshot, torsoshot and a few critical to seal the deal. I got him! Double click for the deathblow and a few seconds later I was rewarded with my pay, my BH xp and my new PVP rating, but something felt wrong. I looked at the corpse, and my mark's name had "LD" under it. I checked the combat log to try and determine if it had been a cheap trick or what, but found that he didn't even swing at me once during the whole fight; erego, he was LD when he loaded into the starport and that had been why the fight was so ridiculously easy and why the victory had felt so hollow. Now I'm mad at him for robbing me of what was supposed to have been a tremendous amount of satisfaction! j/k. I wrote him an email and let him know what had happened so that when he logged back on in a cloner, missing a ton of xp, he'd understand that it had been an oversight on my part. Had I seen that he was LD when attacked, I think I would, at the very least, have had a very difficult decision to make. But on the other hand, I think I just may have waited for him to log back on. Considering how much time I'd already invested into this hunt, I honestly don't know which I would have done. What I do know is that though probably anyone would tell me I more than earned the right to collect on that bounty, it still felt a bit hollow. Personally, I'd have prefered him to fight back, even just a little.

But you'll only die tired.

but it shouldn't be easy to take a knight down 1v1

You're right it shouldn't, so killing em LD or AFK is a nice break.

There is no line. It's kill, or be killed. Collect money, or come out of a cloner with some wounds.

I got LD in about 15% of my jedi fights (bad computer problem i cant seem to fix- nor can the csrs)

I log in dead every time.

So yes, I'd gladly take the chance to kill a LD Jedi.
