Thread: New NPC Elite Marks Impossible!! Hardly....

I only had a problem once with a Bossmark. This guy was allways closing into pistol range and obviously switched to a kinetic pistol that did eat up my health in no time. After 2 incaps and realising that it was indeedhis pistol and not his carbine doing that massive damage on me i just had to stay out of his pistol range to be fine again. All other bossmarks are just a matter of Pixies, some food and stim healing.

Btw. my template is MBH, MPistols and carbine 4400 too and i am doing fine with the bossmarks.

Most of them have been easy just a matter of food and armor, but once I ran into a boss using a rifle and I am master pistols. He was hitting from 600 to 800 a shot on me and knocked me down twice. but the really kicker was his regen was out of this world. Thats the only thing that mad him tough.

OK, sorry, but I have to be honest, but these Elite Marks pose no serious challenge at all, provided you know what you are doing.

1. Tactics. I am a MBH / MP / L'il bit o' Carb and just cause I am fastest and most accurate with my Pistol, that does not stop me from plunking away from 65m with my new Heavy LLC (or whatever it's called.) I get in 3-5 shots before he starts running at me.

2. You using Duelist Stance? Reduce ranged dmg and reflect some back? Nice. Use a macro and stand still.

/dueliststance;

/pause 30;

/macro duelist

3. Food combos. Use the right ones to stack all effects and some Ruby Bliel for sure. I kill the 36K Health boys with maybe 2 - 4 self-heals per guy. Also got either a clear crystal, a BH schem or Reinforced casings off all of them (the elite boys, that is..., the regulars seem to think a Mandalorian Intraframe is something everyone needs 50 of...) except one. (That jerk dropped a jar of bugs on me... )

Gotta be honest, not finding any of the NPC's a challenge at all. Which is nice, cause I am straight up loot grinding. (At 31K a whack...) Used to be my BH was strapped for cash all the time, but the new loot sells... The new marks are like human krayts. I love this new publish upgrade!

LOL...I don't even wear armor when I go after NPC bounties. The elite ones aren't much stronger.

Someone said it earlier in this thread...if you are having trouble with NPC's, you'll never kill a Jedi. I suggest you go dance at the Mining Outpost.

I just started playing yesterday (sunday, before I was having problems downloading hte patches), not having played at all since the CU.

Trust me... my uber composite and my deadly DX2 and old combat tactics are useless now! Go figure!

I need new equipment and a complete revamp on my tactics before I can handle these dudes.

Still... I agree with you, you need a good equipment and food, then you can handle it.

Now... lets see how well I will do next weekend, once I have time to waste all of my remaining credits in refurbishing my stockpiles.

i guess no one told you yet, the combat upgrade was basically a character wipe, basically everyone got shafted on their conversions and then some people had crappy stuff randomly convert to top notch gear.

Even with good armor, I am healing during the whole fight. Not with all elites but just a few choice gold chevron ones. No way you can can take these without armor unless your template is just the end all beat all. For silver chevron elites and some of the gold chevron onesI agree with you.

I also don't find these npcs difficult at all. And I'm referring to the 30K+ Health npcs, not the 8k ones.

I would imagine that the people "complaining" are respecers with little understanding of how to be offensive and effective with their chosen professions. They probably complained in their LAST profession chose boards also, so it's not as if it's a new thing.

If you can put down a real live, full templated Jedi, then you can EASILY put down one of the boss marks in no time at all. Is there a sercret to it? Not really. Just know you're profession, how to be effective with it, and you'll do well. Otherwise, you'll be cannon fodder for the rest of us, if they ever create a BH Ranking system like the FRS.

i agree, these marks are tough but can be deffeated without a problem. Its all a matter of the tactics you use to whipe them out. And about the respecing to BH, thats just stupid...it may be easier and all but you dont gain the true nature of being a BH until you have done the grind.

I am not a respec BH, but this is BS, at least it used to be BS... I mean before you would go and kill a level 20 mark, the grind was stupid, boring and totally pointless, it didn't teach u anything.

Now that the marks are harder and with the elites in there, it is good prep for learning tactics, although those tactics u use against a ranged NPC are not the same you would use on a Jedi.

I have fought about 6 Double gold elites and only one incapped me, but I won anyways, the other 5 were not too hard, but I was afraid that one that incapped me would of killed me.

I think that it basically depends on the weapons the NPCs spawn with.

what we're saying is there are a few "real" boss marks that don't turn upvery often. the normal 33k double gold chevrons are a walk in the park for most of us, but you'll know when you meet a real "boss" mark. I've now done nearly 100 missions and I've only come across 1 of these proper bosses and it's like taking down a krayt.

Test centre hve just stated:

  • Master Bounty Hunters should see more Elite level marks.

  • so hopefully we'll all get a chance to see more proper bosses. i just hope they drop more than the usual bugs and hats.
