Lol. The loss of stats you suffer from armor issmall in comparison to the protection you get. Kinetic and acid are the most often used attack types from mobs.

Not when your Constitution and Strength go down to under 200. I mean, it takes me a while to recover my health as it is without any encumbrance from armor. Having the armor makes it take twice as long. Besides, I like how my character looks in her Blue Tactical Skinsuit

When im hunting alone doing walk abouts no where the city, I just have my hunter fur lined shirt, and my hunters pants for the +14 camo...(yea i know the fact that stat enhancers are not really working atm) most of the red/yellows i hunt never get closer than 40' to me so being able to pop off a bunch of special shots, toss a trap if i feel the charge coming, and not have the ham encomburence is better for me in that situation... Although if im taping a nest where creatures assist, ill throw on a few pieces of my chiten set to absorb if i do get rushed, so i can hopefully get a few more pops in...

In group hunting swap back and forth... I end up trying to lag behind a group and keep the 60' sweet spot on my rifle, but ill run in and toss some armor on with a hand gun too some times...

really, long story short, might be good to have a decent rounded set of armor to swich on and off depending on what situations arise.

Well seeing we mostly deal with direct hits from animals it would be best to have kinetic armor with resists to Elemetal damage ie Cold Heat Acid etc...

Just want to point out that from what I have gathered from the forums and what not, person armor will NEVER have an AR greater than 1.

Don't know if this is completely true, but it seems to make sense.

If you are looking for my opinion, I never ever use armor in PvE. I tried the full suit of mabari and I can say I did not really see much of a change, aside from my slower HAM recharges and higher HAM drains. Now, as for PvP goes.. My best friend is a Mk3 Shield gen. Those are life and death in the harder duels and when hunting rebs/imps around towns.

Thats my 2 creds. Hope you find the balance that works for you

Sorry if this has been asked before. Is armor a good idea as a TKA? I'm just switching from carbine so I don't know alot about the profession. Thanks

Put your armour onto a quick-key. I wear full Chitin with TKA, and I love armour, but I don't wear it until I get into a battle. I am saving up to get to marine armour.

Very light armor like a Mabari o no armor at all, we get nice toughness and defensive skill mods from our lines.

It's like the stormtrooper for Imperials, but it's for Rebels. If you see people running around in yellow suits that kind of looks like a marine suit, that's marine armor. You get it for reb faction points.

My character use a 3 layers composite helm, boots, gloves and an advanced layer padded chest.

Don't listen to that crap. Composite armor is the biggest mistake in this game. The encumberance is too high to be considered as a armor that can be used normally. Unless that comp armor is all 65% or above, get some Ubese that will do a thousand times better at less then 1/2 the encumberance
