if it happend i'd cancel all 4 of my accounts for good. my main character became my jedi...when i started the jedi grind, it was with the understanding that i'd get to make a jedi alt and my main wouldnt be jedi. all my friends and enemies know my main but not so much as my alts...my main is ME, its who i am in this game, and if i lost my main...that'd be plenty of reason for me to finally quit.

/think oh god, i cant wait to hear the 'go ahead and quit then' lines

before you get all hostile, just stop and think if this happend to you...your playing your main you've had for 2 years and suddenly a patch hits that ALL proffessions (including BH) will get perma death. you've died and lost your main, 2 years down the toilet...how would you feel honestly?

Ok, since people prefer to beat a dead horse (myself included). Permadeath is not an option anymore since it is the main. How is rerolling 1 jedi to another one that could be reground to finished template population control??? The game has grown and changed so I think some of you should do the same. In all actuallity the only thing the BH really does is template control. With group grinding a must now that really isn't the issue anymore with the respec's/double xp they have been throwing around, which is getting out of hand imo. They got rid of permadeath cause of bugs/crashes/disconnects etc. If they did then you would have groups of players clone camping/shrine camping to cause more deaths along with the BH deaths. Just not an option anymore.

Well, we all can agree that the persent stiuation isn't good either. We get flooded in jedi characters.

Today I'd say that the regular profession is jedi. It's not supposed to be that way.

I have seen more and more players quit the game since jedi came into game. And more and more kids-jedi-wannabees are starting the game. I see less and less artisans and fewer and fewer of them left are main characters. Feels like the game economy is collapsing.

Game content is deterioating and gravitaiting to be more and more focused on jedi grinding.

Nerfing jedi to become a less strong profession isnt a good idea either. If this keeps going jedi will be about the same TKM used to be. That will make players quit even more.

Still, as I see it, is makeing jedi rare the only solution. Make jedi stronger ( a paddy should be 1.5 of a regular profession and a knight about 10 and a master almost undefetable) and make jedi a temporary profession with permanent jediskill loss when DBd in pvp. Also set a server cap of 10 light and 10 dark jedis per server.

Make every jedi knight be able to take one jedi apprentice who he can train and help in pvp/pve.

These changes won't be popular among many, but it will save the game. Those who wont like the changes are prolly those kid-jedi-wannabees. I'd say go play KotOR instead, there you can be jedi and fool around as much you want without spoiling the timeline /SW feeling for others or unbalancing an potentially good MMORPG.

Absolutely agree.

"Normal" Knights should be just *slightly* over CL80 in power. FRS masters should get dramatic increases... at the price of maintaining their standing on the ladder.

Yes.

I'm afraid this is the only way SOE can prevent this game from becomming Jedi Academy Online. About 60-70% of the playing population are going jedi or are already jedi. It's an unacceptable situation.

There's no MMORPG where 60-70% of the player are the same profession. No game like that will survive, the Devs knows that, and we players know that (exept for those jedi players sticking their heads in the sand, pretending all is fine)

I guess they are only figuring out a way to break it for you...

First of all permadeath is not something that i would want, primarily as a bh. Permadeath would cause many jedi to quit and that means i do not have as many targets. I think if they bring jedi down to a reasonable level so that we have a reasonalbe chance of beating them then that is all that is necessary. I dont care if they want to run around in pajamas and swing florescnet baseball bats as their primary profession as long as I can kill them and collect my money

and that, my friend, has already been done.

Welcome to the New Galactic Empire, a very hidden organization that has managed to kill far more citizens and destroy far more communities than theImperial Navycould have ever dreamed of.....

until they fix the internet so that no one ever goes linkdead and the servers so that they never crash permadeath isn't coming back.
besides the devs have decided to let everyone become a jedi and have watered it down so much that permadeath just isn't a realistic risk for the massive effort and minor reward.

yes I am hoping this is true. I dont want to beat full templates all the time, but if I do everything right I want a reasonable chance. I dont use gank squads, not to say I have never helped someone kill a mark. I like the challenge of going alone. It wont bother me in the least if they remove the ability to gank a jedi with multiple bh's since I am a loner anyway.

There should be serious penalties for being killed by a BH, but a permanent death penalty is a little steep. XP loss is fine.

OK, so perhaps I should have titled th thread differently, but I thought ppl would read my first post.....

Anyway, point is, I wasn't suggesting permadeath, but permanent loss of ability to wield force after set number of PvP/BH/Jedi deaths. To make myself clear, your toon becomes a jedi. Your toon then gets killed PvP X times. Your toon then loses all ability to wield force, but you DO NOT lose your toon, or your creds, or your kit. Perhpas the loss of force ability should be permanent, perhaps it should just be temp, and you can re-grind jedi if you want? I think permanent would be required to limit jedi pop to reasonable numbers, but perhaps temporary would do. In game testing is all that would prove either case.

Permadeath :it would be the worst think to do! and im not a jedi, my alt is bh.

Many jedis hide because they loose xp. Imagine what will happen if permadeath is back?

Or completely change all the game.

i guess jedi will stay the most valuable combat skill. But "god template" won t exist anymore.
