Thread: Bounty Hunter is not Cost Effective and Not Worth Doing, Devs!
The whine part was aimed at the OP. The point is that yes it is hard.....so maybe he shouldn't be doing it. Just because he can't get a group doesn't mean the game should be rebalanced so that he can solo it. There are plenty of BH's that are making tons of money soloing Jedi, so his entire argument is invalid. It's not that it can't be done.....it's that HE can't do it. Two entirely different problems.

I don't whine I just agree with the thread starter and disagree with people who says that hunting on Rryatt is easy. It isn't and it sure isn't cost effective. These strategies are based upon having at least 2 other people with you and these people are expecting to be paid more than 226/3k / (at best). I am also not factoring in AFK jedi but Jedi who move around. Would you help someone out for an hour for this amount unless he's a close friend?

Real Bounty Hunters Make it cost effective and if its not cost effective for them then they're rich enough to just enjoy the content. If you were after money why didnt you Pick up artisan
heaven forbid people take time to understand their profession and limitations and thenlearn how to make money rather then whine!

Okay so my OP was made in a moment of utter frustration, and thatcolored my opinion on things quite a bit at the time.
Its not that I can't do it - I bagged a Jedi this morning finally and got 170k - Its that it took me endless hours to try to find a Jedi let alone attack them the night before. There were no other BHs around that I could see, so no one to tagteam with, and there were almost no Jedi hiding down there. I checked 4 of the 6 instances of Ryatt - after spending a ton of time doing the Trailmaster Mission to let me at least go directly to the Webweaver trail - and there was *no one* in any of them. The Marks that I had picked up Kadaara ended up logging off while i was searching for them multiple times. My frustration was the result of the fact that I had just wanted to get a good fight in - win orlose - and had ended up spending 6 hours and found no one.
I realized I was doing it in reverse this morning, so this time I went and *found* the mark, then went and got the mission, then went back and killed them.
It was never about the money. I have never had any problem in this game making money since I first got Master Droid Engineer/Master Merchant/Master Artisanyears ago. Its about finding something entertaining and enjoyable to do, and I got bored with crafting and decided to see more of the world. My OP was mostly a vent due to my frustration at the barriers put in my way from doing my job due to the multiple instances on the Ryatt, the incapping and DBing mobs on the webweaver etc. I stated it was not being cost effective because I had layed out well over 120k at least in order to gain tools to earn say 100k - and not even gotten that in the end. If it was just about the money I would simply do NPC missions and rack up a ton of credits easily but slowly. BH is the only profession I know of that has it that easy for making money in fact.
Now this morning I reversed my process and earned 170k. If I can do that again at least once without spending more money on supplies then I will most likely be back in the black again - even allowing for dmg to equipment etc. Still, overall I have laid out well over 1m credits in equipment and supply purchases and have yet to make back even a fraction of that. For you BH that are racking up the millions, good on you, but I have yet to see that level of recompense from missions.
I have had some good fights, which is really what its all about for me. I respecced to BH so I could try it out and see what the PvP was like post-CU. I enjoy the fights immensely, even though I lose some of them. Really all I want is good fights, and its frustrating to find that you can't find one after hours of searching. I have to conclude that Tarquinnas has a much lower Jedi population than some of the servers you folks are on.
At any rate, I am not giving up, I will perservere until I decide to try something else. As for all those who dismissed my comments - to each their own, sorry you didn't see my point.
BH is already buried, my advice to all BH is pick a profession other than BH, do the village quests and become a jedi yourself. Lets turn this game into one big giant jedi joke.

So I take it that goes for all professions? People who don't have any possibilities to play on the right time of day to aquire money, XP and most importantly connections got no one but themselves to blame.

I don't need to keep any of that in mind because none of it is a problem with the bounty hunter profession. The profession has all the tools necessary to kill Jedi. An individual who can't accomplish the task because of personal issues or playstyle is no one's problem but that individual's.
The reason there are so many different professions in this game is because every profession isn't supposed to appeal to every single player.
Caelrie, as much as you complain about newb Jedi having it too easy, why do you support a system where Jedi can macro grind a static spawn from paddie to full-template and remain viturally un-hindered?
To be honest, it's gotten to the point where I spend more time scanning the terms for a Jedi not on Kash than I spend searching the instances.

Real advice - drop mission on kash as soon as you get em, i do. id rather spend my time killing 2-3 jedi that are on dant or rori or wheverever that waste hours of my life to run down to the wookies on the rryatt trail and have my mark just run to the bugged spot there where you cant shoot at them, and log out.
Once you get a rythem, you can really rack up the credits fast, i can make about 700k - a million in a day if i stick with it and get lucky, especially at primetime(evening and weekends)
Pull 70-120k mission, those are usually the most cost effective in the beginning till you learn the ropes.
