Don't see a whole lot of permadeath in MMOG's for a reason. It's not good business, and they know it.

Neither have I seen ALPHA professions in major online games, particularly PVP based. But as you and Caelrie once said Leatherneck,

GAME EXPERIENCE MAY CHANGE, LOL

City of Heroes has two alpha classes actually.

Little mini Arena battles in COHdon't come close to the type of pvp that is in SWG.

The first two points alone disqualify the second character slot as a reward. The third just nails the lid on the coffin.

I guess that depends greatly on your own point of view. Without buying a second account, you can have +10 lots and (more or less) +250sp added to your account. Granted, they have to be split between two separate characters and the exact same effect could be duplicated by buying a second account.

As a crafter/resource merchant, I want the +10 lots and +250sp for crafting skills. I need another char to do this. If I could afford two accounts, it would not be a second SWG account, it would be MxO, WoW, CoH, or something else so that when this grind gets boring, I can have a whole new grind to deal with

Different strokes for different folks.

Ok... to make an *on topic* section of this post... As per Episode ][, it was a really close fight between Obi and Jango. Difficult to say who would've emerged victorious had Jango not had the opportunity to flee. Personally, I think that Obi would've triumphed but that's beside the point. Mace didn't seem to have too much problem with him, but that was most likely because of the jetpack malfunction - I think Jango would not have fallen as easily otherwise.

My point is that neither Jedi nor BHs should be uber. They should be a good fight! There's nothing more exhilerating than a really good PvP fight - even if you lose! Getting ganked sucks though, but as long as people continue to be arrogant and self centered, there's not much to be done about it so suck it up and move on. I mean honestly... It would've been hilarious to see Jango stand up after being defeated saying something to the effect of "OMFG! u n00b pwrlvlr1! u need nerfd!11! NERF WINDU HES GOT PURPLE!1!!1"

Flame away... elemental damage isn't in effect yet anyway

/say I'm sorry, %TT, but your Imperial HMO does not cover wound treatments with a Battle Fatigue over 500. Please see an entertainer to receive treatment.

Huh?? What's Battle Fatigue?!

You may be out of touch, but CoV supports PVP.

As per Episode ][, it was a really close fight between Obi and Jango.[Mind you that was a close fight 2 v 1-if you consider being shot at with ship-class lasers to be anything vaguely resembling dangerous-and Obi was unarmed for much of the fight.]Difficult to say who would've emerged victorious had Jango not had the opportunity to flee. Personally, I think that Obi would've triumphed but that's beside the point. All that bit about the movies is largely irrelevant. The game doesn't closely resemble the movies except superficially.

can we define irony, i was talking on the chat channel earlier and tiggs asked somebody if they thought jedi should be uber (ps i think she thought i was sayin that cuz i asked wat was in store for pub 20 for everybody) but i was like no way, finally they are being put into balance with every1 else so that we stand a chance in pvp. Yesi hav a jedi toon that is still a lil padi, but i would rather be part of the gcw in which every1 was just about equal in almost every aspect rather than hav as we would call it uber. In fact my alt is goin to be a MBH/Pistoleer and i will be doing much pvp with that toon now that i can fully participate in the GCW without worrying about bein slaughtered to death by a jedi in the matter of about 15 seconds.

Great. Got a link to it? I can provide one to my example.

You keep moving the goalposts here HeadRoll. Just can't stand to be proven wrong, can you? Here's a hint: accept it gracefully. A simple "Thanks, I didn't know that" would suffice but it's readily apparent you have....issues.

Ummm. hehe.. Yeah, I would have to agree with you here. See, there are ranks past Knight(once the FRS gets implemented again, that make a Jedi so much more powerful. A Jedi Guardian should be about 1.5x that of a normal profession and a Jedi Master should be 2x. These are the more rare Jedi. Since Knight is so easily attainable now, a Knight should be on par with BH, 1 vs 1. If you want to be more uber... fight amongst yourselves over it.

By making fun of my board handle, you have insulted over 200 years worth of military history in the form of United States Marines. Good going, Captain Manners.

I didn't state that I have a link to CoV release date. Maybe instead of reflexively typing out the online experience changing bit even when it has nothing to do with the conversation, you might want to look into some reading comprehension classes. Obviously your ability to grasp the meaning of what's written is sorely lacking.
