My helmet decayed so I bought my new one and there's no way I'm paying 1,000,000 for a slice on that. I'd rather shop around to find a smuggler. I will not pay above 400k for this slice. No matter how rare the components are.

That's fine - then go FIND the components for your smuggler.
I wouldn't pay 400k for that slice either - if you find the needed component, most smuggler's would do the actual WORK for about 10-25k, or for free plus a tip. But you cannot expect the smuggler to pay 500k to a million for the parts and then only charge you 20k for the slice.
Don't like it? Then complain to the DEVs - not the smugglers. The cost of the slice is directly proportional to the assinine difficulty in finding the loot required to do the work.

I am not complaining about this, just showing the differences. When I first found a smuggler, he said he was not doing AB slicing because he was low on a component need for the slice, I asked what it was to see if I could find it, he told me SAP's need 1 for each slice plus 90k for each slice. I then shop around but don't see anything but on the trade forums for 500k each minimum. I bid on them hoping the bids would not go too high, but then someone else put up an advertisement for full set of armor AB slice for 2 million. that was the better deal so I dropped out of the auction. I have no problem with anyone charging what they have too, it's the way the economy works in SWG and RL.

OK. Have fun trying to find someone who will slice your armor when you're not even willing to pay the replacement cost though. If people weren't paying those kind of prices, they wouldn't be charging that much.

With all due respect, you aren't understanding the situation. Smugglers aren't the problem, we don't set the price of the component. Shopping around for a smuggler won't make the price of the component go down because we don't control the price of the component, the drop rate and the person selling it determines the price. Good luck trying to find a smuggler.

Getting smuggler componments are getting much much harder these days, especially ones that require finely crafted toolset and simple toolkit but I've noticed with BH investigation 2-3 you get them more often than a MBH does but who the heck wants just inv 1-3?

Ok so let's say I decide not to get the helmet sliced. Can I still hunt Jedi without much of a huge difference? The rest of my armor is AB sliced.

99% of Jedi with a LS has headhit, it will specifically target your head.

You can get them off master missions too if you don't mindrunning missions lower than level 80.
Them = finely crafted toolsets.

It really don't matter if your guilded or not if your smuggler guildies don't have any padding. I WISH I could pay 200k per piece sliced, but for 3 weeks I've not been able to find a smuggler with the paddings to do it...

whoa whoa whoa. Doesn't a lvl 3 armor break slice require Reactive Micro Plating?
