Thread: 75% AB Slice is 1 Million Now?
No it shouldn't, at least not in an economic sense. Go loot your own SAP and see how easy it is to find. The demand for the slice far exceeds the supply and people are buying at those prices so it's not overpriced. It sells at that price because it's what the market determines. Price will go down when and only when people stop buying the padding at those prices.

I'm not accusing the smugglers of price gouging, I just think that for such a common slice the materials should cost much less.

Thought I'd contribute a personal study I've done on Ahazi.
Last I checked around Noonish, Shock Absorbent Padding was selling for a minimum of 300,000 credits each. For a Smuggler to break even on a set of Full Armor Break sliced Armor (7 piece set) it costs them 2,100,000 credits. That's to break even, no profit at all! I recently ran out of the salvaged stock I had of Shock Absorbent Padding and at the price they're going for I cannot in good concience buy any and then charge upwards of two million credits for any kind of slice.
Simply put, it's not price gouging, not on the smuggler's side at least. If any price gouging is being done it's on the side of the people selling the SAP, however I don't believe they are to blame either. The Shock Absorbent Padding is dropping at a rate far less frequent than any other slicing parts that I can tell, and considering the demand is so great, the market simply cannot keep up, so prices go up. I doubt prices will come down anytime in the foreseeable future unless the Devs increase the drop rate on the padding.

Guys you hunted Jedi before AB slicing was around. It is nice and not absolutely necessary. I don't know why any BH would want to tank a Jedi. Use a carbine or rifle and kite them. If you don't feel the slice is worth the price don't pay it.

Underhand shot, or imp charge shottoimp panic shot|concussion shot, or paralyze....
BH can do the same thing. Beside does force sup have a range? Didn't know it was 50m plus.

not all of us get hawt moves like that. my startle shot lasts um...1 second. that'll hold em off. AB slice is worth it...and you're not going to be able to keep them out of range the ENTIRE time (unless you're a very skilled mcm)

Carbs also has imp crippling shot which you can stack adv suppression fire on top of that will slow anyone to a crawl. I am not sayingAB slicingisn't useful. Its need is relative to your template. If I primarily used pistol you can be your arse I'd have it.I am saying people hunted Jedi without it, and still do now. Same way everyone seems to feel you have to be MCM these days. CM paralyze is 35m or less? I'd rather snares and dazes from 50m, and that's personal taste.
Again the reason I know it is not a must is people were hunting them before AB and even do so now without it.

Well im on Chimaera and someone tried to charge me 4 million for a 75% AB slice. I said no thanx seeing as last time it only cost 1 million. My usual guy hasnt been on for ages but I think I will wait .. 4 million?!?
you wont spend less then 6mill for a full AB slice in corbantis.
Shock Absorbant Padding (SAP) is a hard to get item, but it is needed for that AB slice that is allthe rage. I have seen those pieces run for 1 million credits on the bazaar on the Itrepid server. You may find a few for less...you may see tham as high as 2 million. BH missions seem to drop the vast majority of smuggler slicing tools, and even then, there are pieces that are super rare. As a smuggler, I would not charge much at all for slicing weapons or armor if all smuggler slicing tools are provided. Now that there are discussions about revamping my profession, I am hoping this rtidiculous smugggler-tool-loot fiasco that was forced on us last minute gets resolved. I know many of you are upset about the slicing situation, but so are we. I have skill points Irarely use because I cannot even get MY own tools.
Some of us were fortunate enough to stock up on some crates of WUKs and AUKs, but even so, SAPs and powered motiviators are very rare pulls from these crates. Rare items in demand command the big credits, be it by smuggler or BH. They are important enough for me not to sell...I hold them for my own use and that of my associates.
