No its not a case of we dont want anythign but whatthey want to give us, its a case of we want the right thing which is to "actually revamp" our profession and lot let rank file into it to controll jedi population because they creewed up by removing the TEF when they pull a sabre out. Reduction inthe pre reqs doesn't fix us, it just lets other more capable profs do our jobs for us, effectively making us redundant
I don't care if it is because they made a mistake or not, all I care about is being usefull and fun again, I am sorry, but MBH is not fun now, without this change it will continue to not be fun.
Be realistic here, this change is one they can make now, allot of the other things everyone wants aren't going to happen anytime soon. To make MBH useful in its current state is beyond what can be done here over the next 2 days, or 2 weeks or 2 months. They are way too busy with everything else right now, we either take what we get (and this isn't a bad thing we are getting) or we get nothing. If this game has taught us anything it should be not asking ourselves to be nerfed or better yet, stay nerfed, there are plenty of others to do that for us. And if you guys think that everyone will yell nerf BH they are too powerfull, what Specials do we really have that are so great? Those days have come and gone, we have no uber specials, even with using another profession.
If we take this now its game over over for BH everywhere. If we take this now we will NOT get any meaningful fixes to BH profession. Being a MBH will still be useless. The only thing we will get is another series of nerfs. Do you actually remember why our specials were nerfed in the 1st place ? they were nerfed because of dabblers taking select lines out of BH profession so the devs nerfed them hard to stop this from happening. All thats happening now is other more powerfull combat profs are gonna get to dabble in our lines again and this time the nerf will be even harder.
So what you are saying is you would rather not have anything now and wait for that magical revamp we may never get? They have not slated for us to be revamped...which in my mind tells me it will happen a long, long long time from now. If we were being retooled in a month or 2, that would be one thing, but what we are asking for will not happen anytime soon if ever, I would rather have something now than 7 months from now.
Our specials are already weak, what possibly could they nerf? What if I take TKA up, how can they nerf BH specials if I am unarmed? Everything is going to be nerfed when the CB comes about, everything is to be in its place, this will atleast allow us to hold our own until then.

i think most of the negitive complaints stem from the fact that BH wont seem as special to the people who mastered it already. Everyone else in the game will like it, and everyone will try BHnow. (sounds a lot like the Jedi forum too)
The more BHs running around, the more the Devs will fix the other major problems with this profession

The cost was WAY too high to be a BH before, most of you guys became a BH for the cool factor.
hell, i was grinding survival and traps for BH and i hated every moment.
Master Scout and Master Marksman are a joke to grind. The hardest part of Bounty Hunter is grinding investigation, which isn't hard, just boring beyond all reason. There is a justifiable reason to make Jedi missions BH only, but I think there is a post, from the devs, stating that it is not feasible to put Jedi missions in the master box.
The posts against this change are written in the EXACT SAME STYLE as the Jedi complaints about patch 9.
- "The change takes away from the value of the profession"
- "People shouldn't be able to dabble in our profession"
- "Fix our current setup, the new system will be a huge nerf"
- "Grinding the profession should be hard and rewarding"
Guess what, the game is about skills when it comes down to it. Each profession carries certian skills that people can choose to acquire or pass over. The character you play is not a class, but a conglomeration (sp?) skills that results in their overall effectiveness. Hunting, trapping and surival do not benefit a combat class in anyway. Placing a ton of skill mods in the master box results in top heavy profession that is heavily effected by the remaining skill points. I welcome the change as it will open up new avenues for profession and allow the diversity that should have been in the profession to start with.
This is pissing me off... now that we can dabble... they wont fix the profession at all...

I hope the rest of you Bounty Hunters can see where this "fix" is leading us too... you will regret this fix in the future..
I am now ever closer to the cancel button for the fact the devs ignore our fixes and just give us a crap excuse of a fix...

Seems like a fun idea, not sure if they could open the profession up like they did Jedi and require you to "specialize" for certain BH attacks. I only see one problem. BH SHOULD be good at PvP, since the end game of this profession seems to be hunting player Jedi. That involves PvP. lol I really would love to see them revamp this profession, to require people to spend all their skillpoints in marksman, then into multiple lines of BH, just like they've done with Jedi. It would keep BH from template stacking, and open the profession up to some "customization" so that every BH was not the same. Will they do it? I hope so!!

First off, I applaud you for at least doing this. I know it's far from what we all want the BH profession to be, but it is a start and we are grateful. Now, with that being said I simply don't understand that if you guys had time to do braindstorm and implement this on test center.....why can't you go a step further? What is a step further? "Bounty Only attacks"
These would be attacks that can only be used against a players "mark." They can't be used anywhere else. Not in PvE, or PvP. These would be overwhelmingly devistating attacks that would easily give a Master Bounty Hunter the ability to take out their bounties. We aren't suppose to be PvP or PvE gods. We should be mediocre in that. But the ONE thing we should excell at more than any other profession is the systematic extermination of our bounty. THAT is what we are. THAT is what we are about.
If anyone can find a flaw in giving bounty hunters very powerful, "bounty only" Please let me know. I'd really like the devs to make us good at what we are suppose to be good at.
Oh, and fix our tracking ability. If the system honestly can't do it then we deserve to know. Not o be told "Meh, we'll get to it later."

Imo, a BH should have multiple skills in which to take down their mark, and none of them include Scout. **edit** does camping, trapping, etc have to do with taking down a mark for crying out loud. Nothing, which is why they should've never made scout a requirement in the first place. They are fixing a problem with this profession that's been there from the beginning. For months people have complained that BH had 0 defense and used too many skill points for what they are getting. Now the dev's remove the skill point obligation, give people the ability to add defense and some offense to the class and people are pissed off. Now wonder JustG sounded tired. I'd be tired of hearing you all cry day in and day out too.
