Thread: Bounty Hunters... what can Dev do Right Now??

What i find the most displeasing is that the title is "BH...What can we do right now?"


yet in the thread JustG says:


"We are going to lower.....blah blah blah."


It could just be the way he was thinking when he wrote it. But it also seems like we don't have a choice.

G, for the first time since I bought this game in August I actually feel sorry for you guys. You are making a good change here, and trying to satisfy a long forgotten profession. Will you get any props for doing it? No, because people can't see the forrest from the trees. It's a good move, and I truely believe you'll make other enhancements in the future. There is only 1 issue, you have to drop the 5 sec delay on weapon changing. The armor is fine but the weapons severly hampers BH which is designed to rely on 3 weapons. You've go to change that, no matter what YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THIS TO KEEP BH COMPETITIVE. If you don't think I'm right I'd like you personally to tell me why I'm wrong.

Grow up. I'm a master squadleader. I can see moving hunting to MBH but I like the changes overall as it allows for different templates rather then the same old thing...cuz its pretty damn easy to counter something if you know exactly what you're fighting.






If you don't like the answer don't ask the question. You like the changes great, I don't, let me guess becuaseI don't I need to grow up?


I don't really care what you think. You're opinion is not very important anyways.

Ok... I for one appreciate the move. With how they have completely changed the Jedi profession, what makes anyone think that a BH revamp, if it comes, won't do that as well. I would rather have my profession be feared because we are now not limited to doing a few points here then wait till this revamp.


Why is everyone worried we'll be nerfed because of this? We are already gimped beyond belief. I started this game from day one and have never went any other way than BH. Now as a MBH I have so little offense its sad and no defense. With this change we will atleast hold our own again. When and if we are revamped, they can simply change our requirements and change the present BH's to fit those requirements, much like they did with Jedi. I would rather have this than nothing.


Now anyone worried that everyone will dabble to get Inv 3 and then what ever other professions to hunt Jedi, the Investigation line is the only tree that makes you a BH. Anyone who has gone through the Investigation tree IS A BH. I welcome any BH and a BH with Inv 3 can hunt Jedi, no matter if they are 3,4,4,4 or only 3,0,0,0. We need any BH to hunt Jedi, Jedi are leveling without fear, and at present, a MBH doing the job alone is a joke. The devs know it, and especially the Jedi know it..


We are already gimped, this boost will negate that and when the time comes, we will be fixed and for all we know everything will be changed including this change to our requirements.

says the TKM as he polishes up his VKs ready for some jedi pounding. No its not a good move for BH, its an admission by the devs that they cannot be arsed to think of a meaningfull way to make being a BH or a MBH worthwhile.


Please stop being naive, its not being done for BHs its being done because the devs know they have screwed balance and jedi control by removing TEF when they pull out a sabre in public, its being done as a half assed attempt to implement a way for the other combat profs to be able to pick up invest line while still retaining the functionality of their own combat style without having to handicap themselves by taking the BH combat boxes.


Wake up its you who can't see the forrest from the trees.

I agree but the developers disagree. That's why they are going to drop the prereqs so that more people can hunt you down and make your life hard through experience debt. BH is the control to Jedi, and it appears to be the only reason we are even getting looked at right now.


As for me I have no desire to bring it to you. You can go play with the other Jedi from now on.






Or maybe it's showing their laziness, or their too focused on the SE thinking that's their money maker and pushing the actual SWG under the rug.


BH will become the next dabbling prof... fotm... know what happens? It gets too powerful, and it'll end up what happened to CH.


I could see it now, a BH dabbled in boutny pistol line, or bounty carbine line, then master pistoleer if he goes bh or master carbineer if he goes the carbine route. Then he should have enough point to dabble in the other range defense. So now you have these BH with super accuracy with pistoleer or carbine, putting fencer's defense line to shame, making the master carbineer or pistoleer dabbled in the pistol line become the next range TKA...


Or even better, they don't even have to master anything, just dabble in the accuracy modifer in pistoleer for bh pistol, or same with carbine, then dabble in all the defense line in the range combat prof. You know how nasty that will be?


This is just going to end up opening a pandemonium of problems, then you have more issues that you have to try and balance on your hand..

make that two subscriptions have been saved because of this change...


I think i speak for most if not all...thank you for looking and doing something about this profession...

but please dont forget about us.....dont just do this change as a quick fix and forget about us..


We would all be happy if there was a steady progress in all issues....we dont expect it to be perfect from one day to the next, but signs( like this one) that its improving..

If anyone is taking a tally of who doesn't want those trees removed chalk up a mark for me.


The effort should be put forth to make BHs better, not to lessen their requirements.

now remove the weapon change timer from bh's so they can play the 3 weapon lines effectively

just a quick 2 cents


1) Remove the weapon delay (or something)...this is a real killer for BHs who rely on combining the specials of their 3 weapon lines. I'd rather deal with a weapon switching fiend than the killer delays. It really puts a hurt on those who rely on specials from different weapons. Hell, i just have visions of Boba and Jango quick-drawing and switching weapons on the fly.


The armor switch delay im cool with...make sense.


2) While im thrilled at the extra skill points, doesnt it make sense that BHs would need hunting / tracking (you know, for hunting down jedi / criminals...almost a prequisite to "investigation")?
