Thread: FEEDBACK: Jedi Missions No Longer Showing Player Name, or Bounty Payout
With full templates at least you knew you were going to get a good hard fight.
What is the problem you're trying to fix here? If it's bh taking the same mission over and over then make it you can't take the same mission over and over. These changes just give free passes to full template gank squads and grinding on kash. That's all these changes do.
You need to put the 4th tier of PvP in before killing BH like this because this just hands the GCW over to jedi groups with a nice little bow on it.

This change has really made me think about how poorly of a Job this Dev team is doing with this game. The jedi complain about "bottomfeeding" and greifing... so the devs think of the easiest way to fix the problem (backwards coding). So instead of actually fixing the problem, they dumb down the BH profession.
Thank you devs for ruining the profession with these changes.
To the jedi who are happy with these changes... I can only shake my head... I have always thought that the only way to make a good Jedi/BH system was if the 2 community looked at the big picture and got along. Its a shame that the majority of the Jedi and BH community act like childern on the forums.
Due to the length of time it takes to actually fight a half to full template Jedi, the reduction of the Tef timer is moot. It does nothing since they can withstand 5 minutes of fighting now, let alone 2:30. If anything, the Tef timer should double to 10 minutes instead of being cut in half. Fixing the Tef does absolutely nothing if the duration gets cut in half.
It will be necessary now to actually track a target over a period of days, and log in/out sessions rather than the previous method of swooping in guns a-blazing (although the latter is not endorsed by experienced bh's, it's still the more popular m.o.). Coupled with the fact that any mission stretched out for too long will inevitably end up incomplete due to another Bh getting there first, this will result in being very detrimental to the economics of the profession. The only way to balance this out, and to make the missions profitable to take would be to make them all the same payout, an across the board flat rate which also takes into account the disparity of number of missions a normal Bh will be able to complete post pub 20 vs pre pub 20. I would estimate between 300 and 500k per mission.
Not being able to find specific missions on specific players is the 'be all end all' of Kashyyyk. Name searching is the only way to hunt Jedi that are on Kashyyyk right now. If there is another, using ingame mechanics (not even forum lists which the mods have already told us without explanation are not kosher) and not running every dungeon end to end 10x over, than someone please post it. If names are being removed from the terms, than Jedi have a pretty much free ride to grind on kash. If this goes through, something should be done to balance it out, such as removing xp from Kashyyyk mobs, or making seekers work again.
It is obvious that the direction of SWG has changed from an in depth game of multiple interacting professions that all had extremely detailed nuances, which created an immersive 'Star Warsy' world to explore and enjoy and which relied heavily upon interaction and group dynamics to the quick sell, I want to be a Jedi and thats it and I need to get there as soon as possible and screw all the other facets of the galaxy. I bought this game because there were no Jedi in it. When I saw one for the first time, it was pretty cool, and I thought, 'wow - someday I think I may want to play a jedi'. But at what cost? As soon as Jedi started dueling in the Mining Outpost I started my investigation grind, and I have never looked back since. It seems like most of the new players are the 'IWannaJediNow' kids who will get it, get bored and leave. Please listen to the veteran players, who earned their Jedi chars the hard way, the ones who have been paying $15 a month for the last 12-24 months. They are the ones who are saying 'Jedi is hard, it should be hard to get, and should be harder to keep...' What is more valuable, the kid who pays $30 for the game and plays for 6 months, or the SW fanatic who paid $50 for the game, and $30 for each expansion, and has been(and will) paying $15 a month for thrice as long as it takes to grind out a jedi character?

What's unethical is the blatant misrepresentation and misinformation that's happening here. Honestly, I blame Auraboron. His post title says that payouts are being removed from the terminals.
That is a complete fabrication. And I cannot help but believe that is intentional.
What the beta-patch notes said was very different. "Bounty Hunter Jedi missions (1) no longer list Jedi names and (2) prevent you from determining Jedi’s level via mission payout". There are worlds of difference between payouts not being shown and payouts not letting you determine the Jedi's strength.
One possibility is what I suggested weeks ago. Base the payout on the Jedi's vis, as opposed to their skillpoint payout.
Such a change makes no sense.
Noone would accept a Bounty mission without knowing the person they were hunting and the amount they would be paid.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
Rather than this stupid mechanism it would have been better to have just had a timer, where you couldn't take the same Jedi's mission for a week.
What's going to happen now, is that BH goes to terminal and gets the mission.
Tracks down his Jedi and kills him.
Jedi goes back to grinding on Kash gets on the terms again, before the BH gets back to a terminal.
BH takes mission, tracks it again and kills the Jedi again ( the same one )
And this will happen......
Then the Jedi are going to cry its unfair and harassmentbecause they keep getting attacked ( which is their own fault for generating visibility )
While I would like to see a change like this, there are things that prevent the usage right now :
Kaashik, BH can't hunt on Kaashik.
Space, BH can't hunt in space.
If the Jedi get to be anonymous, the BH has to have all the tools to hunt his mark.

Be careful what you ask for. As the population of full template Jedi increases the population of active MBH's will dwindle. No one wants to put the effort into tracking down a mark(especially given the extra difficulty of working without names/current online status/player snitches) just to get his butt handed to him most of the time. The other possibility is that this could lead to further Jedi nerfs to bring them into line with other 250pt professions.
Step 1- Cancel account.
Step 2- Buy "City of Villains".
Step 3- Have fun!
Step 4- Watch "SWG" burn to the ground.
Step 5- Hopefully see some carnage between George Lucas and SOE.
Seriously, this has to be the most retarded idea ever. You can become a full temped Jedi in 1 week afk grinding on Kash...and now...there is NO risk. Great Plan! *thumbs up* ....f%cktards....
I am certain most if not all of this has been stated earlier in this thread.
I don't have any problem with removing the mission payout from the terminals but removing the names will make it very difficult for us. Imagine chasing the waypoint to your mark and finding a full group of hunters shooting a lair of bantha or whatever. How is one supposed to know which one is the mark? If the saber is out ... okay, you can manually click on the mark. Otherwise, until you have TAB'ed through like 30 targets to find your mark, you will have been hit by the /duel thing and off goes the Jedi ... the bounty hunter totally loses the element of surprise.
Now, if the name of the markwas given by the spynet operative, removing the names from the terminals and revealing them later would be okay though.
