It's been brought up by Smugglers that they wouldn't mind being targets of BH bounties. They are the ones doing illegal acts, after all. If they get caught, the BH's should have to capture them (or kill them) for a reward. Makes sense to me. Chasing and fighting Jedi is a thrilling experience, but really it's just a game mechanic to place a disadvantage for Jedi so that their uber powerfulness is somehow perceived to be in check.


Other than that I think the BH profession isn't broken, certainly not compared to rangers or smugglers. The BH profession does not warrant the cry for "BH Revamp Please!" at this time.

yea, i was talkin about this to a friend recently...


in EP2, Jango and Obi Wans Fight, Jango was using this awesome aresnal of weapons, flamethrowers, blasters, the wire and so much. He uses Stealth and tactics and his cunning... theres nothing like that in the game.


all it is at the moment: See target, Shoot Gun/Flail VK about, heal self, deathblow... BORING!


the game needs to involve more Role Playing, like Jla said, we Bh should be able to have people come up to us and get a mission on someone who isnt Jedi!


but yea, i agree, bh need revamped

The bounty hunter profession is quite nice as it is. Sure, adding smuggler bounties would be great, but smugglers have very little by way of combat skills to defend against us. Perhaps any master smuggler who gets scanned by imperials/droids/etc. for contraband will have a bounty put on them. That way players who dont wish to be hunted (since these arent jedi we're talking about, they're smugglers) could avoid troops and for the most part the probe droids, enabling them to stay off the terms.


The reason bounty hunters get jedi mission is to both A) make it a more difficult and longer process for jedi to become knights. B) give the jedi a significant risk to face in order to obtain their power (knights are extremely powerful :smileytongue and C) discourage players from becoming jedi, to somewhat keep the population in check. The players who dont want to be hunted can either become jedi and keep hidden (thus keep themselves off the terminals) or not become jedi at all, simple as that.


However, I would like to see bounty hunter a more 'stand alone' elite profession. Currently, if you went completely MBH (master bounty hunter, master marksman, scout 4000) you have no chance at all against people with other elite combat professions. all bounty hunter does is improve other professions. It would be much better if bounty hunter got a complete set of unique weapons (aside from just the LLC and scatter pistol, we need others as well), and got more bonuses to defense and use of their weapons. Instead of just speed/accuracy and a few specials, each tree needs to have seperate state defenses, melee/ranged defense, certifications for BH weapons, certification for BH armor, etc.


I'd like it a whole lot more if i could go MBH and not have to take up another elite combat profession, and still be as good as any other elite profession in combat. It would also be nice if master bounty hunters had no delay between weapon switching, so we could more easily use our advantage of being a 'versatile' combat class in pvp. with the delay its suicide to switch weapons in combat.


I'd also like to see group tef's removed (for jedi hunting). Bounty hunter gank squads should not exist, and nobody should be able to help the jedi when he gets attacked (including healing/rez'ing/etc). The jedi should be completely on his own, as should bethe bounty hunty hunter.


It would be nice if, along the investigation tree, we recieved certifications for armor. Say at investigation 2 you get certification for light bounty hunter armor (seperate armor type from the looted armor). This armor could be made by any master armorsmith, but the Bounty hunter would be able to use a generic crafting kit to create the schematics for each peice of armor, and give these to the armorsmith as a 'one time use' schematic.

The Bh 'light' armor would have something like 20-30% resistances to most weapon types, and say 25% resist to lightsabers (not a whole lot, i know, thats the point).


At master bounty hunter, you could get a second certification for heavy BH armor, which would have resistances in the 40-50% range. The advantages would be low to medium resistances against a large variety of damage types, including lightsabers. The armor wouldnt make us overly powerful (like this stupid 90% composite armor does currently, it should be removed completely), but would give us average resistances to a large number of damage types.


Basically, all im asking for in the upgrade is that MBH be able to stand on its own against any other pvp profession, and stand an equal chance to win. Im not saying they need to make bounty hunters godly, or more powerful in any way, but we spend more points than anyone aside from commando on our master elite profession, and we need something to show for it. A MBH with no other combat professions should be able to fight against your average jedi (not knights, they're way too strong, once a player reaches knight they shouldnt have to fear bounty hunters, unless the BH catches them afk or unbuffed, etc). If we were viable without another profession such as pistoleer or carbineer stacked with us, we would be able to take on something like medic, or a crafting profession (though you wouldnt have the skill points to master both). Currently, without pistoleer or carbineer, MBH is useless, you would be extremely hard pressed to win in a fight against any other combat profession. At least commando's stand a chance of nuking someone in one shot (as happened to me a few days ago, when a commando shot me for 3442 damage in one hit, lol)


Theres a lot of things that could be done with our profession to make it better, while not godly. Think about it

I was less crying for revamp then bringing up the subject for ideas and i think that though hunting jedis is all fun and good we need more all the proffesions really need more once you master maybe even the ability to hunt imperials/rebels that are high up in the ranking system ie. colonels and such like assasination missions for factional stuff so that people who move up in the ranking have advantages and disadvantages all things that would make BH much more fun and interesting and actually make Bounty Hunters what they should be and not just jedi hunters. Everything focus's on the jedi that we are just a inhibiting factor to them....this should not be the way it is.

Many BH complain about how High Lvl Jedi are so strong..


Jedi greind for a year to be what they are.


I propose a similar track for all BH's....Make them Grind 6months to a year as all Jedi do. And be hunted on Terms. When they reach MBH, they receive a suit of Mandolorian Armour, a ship, and weapons that they can only make that help them hunt Jedi.


So stop nerfing Jedi.



Why should a profession that takes 3 days or less to master be as strong as a prof that takes a Year.



Do this now, and end all the crying these BH's are constanty doing

Neither did we, probably 2% of the jedi population even TRIED to grind out AFK, what about us pre-pub 9's with saber tef? what about pre-cu? Your Vision is blinded by what you see others saying.

Because according to the developers, a high level jedi should be 1.5x as powerful as a level 80 combat profession. For the most part, a fully templated knight can easily handle 2 bounty hunters.

This idea is pretty lame, sorry. GivingSWG another uber profession wont make anything better but make things worse. If this were to occur, all that you see in theGCW would be jedi AND bounty hunters.


Giving bh a full set of mandalorian armor... I'm a mando fan too but that would just be kinda weak. AND I suggest you go read one of the threads that talks about mandalorians... They werent bounty hunters, they were super COMMANDOS, quit trying to copy the Fetts LOL.


Oh and on another note, this might make a few respec bounty hunter/ boba fett wannabes happy but it will most likely create more crying and complaining from every single other profession. Remember in the movies how the jedi were something special. Well us bounty hunters dont need anything like this. Your idea makes us seem weak by trying to give usthe special treatment.


We are the scum of the universe, not the second uber profession.



Oh and disrespect to the actual good respec bounty hunters.

using respecs and doublexp maybe, but remember not all Jedi used this method.


Also to figure how long it took to Jedi you really need to go look how long the whole trip took not the Jedi padawan to complete temp part.
