Thread: Why all the hate?

Jedi think that they should get all the high praise, just because they happened to make it past FS.
If all us BH's wanted to be Jedi, we would have already started working on it.. Our fate lies elsewhere.
Not ALL Jedi think like that....
By the way, since grinding does not appear to be an issue for you, check out my proposal for the "Hero Profession", I think it might interest you. Link is my sig..
kind of funny i was hunting down a jedi today and he managed to make it to his house before i could get him incapped.( I am sure he carries that house with him)
Anyway, the Jedi was sending tells to me and we had a nice chat, but all the while his guildmate was sending me abuse , now he wasn't a jedi but was a rifleman. In the end I had to put him on ignore due to the abuse he was sending my way.
So not all of the whinners are Jedi's some are the wannabes.

I am not defending the guildmate, as griefing is griefing, regardless of the purpose, and not only should you have put him on ignore, but also reported the harassment...
But, that being said, I do think I know why most hate comes from the friends than from the mark themselves.
When I get killed by a BH, I say good fight, and /bow... if they feel like a friendly chat afterwards, I don't mind... but when I am grouped with a friend, and that friend is attacked, I feel completely helpless because I can do NOTHING to defend that friend... So, I feel this urge to try to show my fallen friend my support by bashing the BH. Tho I hold the urges at bay, I can see how others can easily let loose without constraint. In this system, the trash talk is the ONLY way we have of showing support for our friends in cases like that, because to do nothing in their defense we feel inadequate, but to also SAY nothing in their defense feels like betrayal. So usually, the trash talk from a friend is not necessarily against you, it's just the ONLY way the system has for him to attack back in defense of the friend you just killed.
If that makes any sense.

It makes sense. I did have the pleasure of doing a mission on a Jedi where all of his friends watched the fight like it was something very interesting. After the long fight ended (with my death), the mark was very cool about it. Hell, even all of his friends were begging me to get my BH friends to hunt them because they wanted something to do.
They were all a cool bunch.

BH's hate jedi for the same reason every other type of player hates jedi. Jedi hate BH's because we hinder their unchecked progress to god mode. They have some emotional fixation with being the next luke skywalker and get upset when they get killed because they are group grinding generating all kinds of visibility for themselves in a profession that is implied consent to involuntary PvP by nature. They want to play but dont want to pay. Who cares, it's a very common theme these days, not just in SWG these people act this same way in RL too, most of them dont even play SWG.

My brother plays a BH and he has experienced the same thing..
