You all miss the little notice when you log in that gameplay experience may change?

I'm sure everything changed when the Execs picked up all those Jan 2004 Gaming magazines that called Galaxies "Coaster of the Year" and KOTOR "Game of the Year." What they failed to realize was it had nothing to do with Lightsabers.

Well here is my answer to this post.

STUPID.

There is no need to bring back old posts,
as for everytime you launch the game you push button called I AGREE. That means that you agree that player exp. will change. Thats what happend. It changed so bringing up posts that was for like 2 years ago or something is LAME.

And for the record BH and JEDI are 2 lamest proffesions of all time. My worst problem is that im stuck with both of them. Since i got 2 toons. But damn it people stop this.
BH will be wortless without jedis and jedis will be swarming all the planets if it wasnt for BH.

But how things are now i think it's pretty lame. There is like 50% of population that are BH and you all still screaming nerf jedi. If you look at jedi forums people are saying nerf BH.
This will never end.

I say roll back servers to old system.

HAVE A NICE DAY

One Toon is your Jedi, and the other is your alt BH that holds your Jedi's mission. BHs don't need Jedi. We want to have a cool BH/Smuggler game. That is all we have ever wanted. I think most Smugglers would like it to.

Did you miss that little story part in EPIV or V where it says that ALL Jedi are extinct?

Yah, it ranks right up there with Ben saying Luke was their last hope when there was Leia, and Ben saying that Vader killed Anakin.
And let's not forget Mace saying "we're not soldiers" mere days before he takes a commission in the military.

Message Edited by Caelrie on 06-09-2005 11:16 PM

Erm, Ben didn't tell Luke that Vader was Anakin simply not to lure Luke into the Dark Side.

Ben probably forgot about Leia, after spending 20 years and being an old fart it's kinda hard to remember stuff.

Mace? He was forced by the Republic to help in the Clone Wars (as all the Jedi were - they even belived it would be for the best).

But really, I dont remember seeing more than 4 Jedi in the original trilogy, and yesterday I hunted down 5.

Your Jedi character lives in a world of constant danger, and when a Jedi dies, he's permanently dead (your other characters will respawn at a cloning facility). But the opportunity is always there should they decide to travel that rough road. We intend to keep Jedi rare, and we will tweak the system on an ongoing basis to ensure that they stay that way (again, something we have stated before). Yes, it is our *opinion* that Jedi will be very very very rare, but we're also planning on working until they ARE because otherwise we would not be faithful to Star Wars. (And yes, we believe we can make it fun to boot). BTW, being a Jedi or Force sensitive in the time period the game is set in ain't no picnic."

It is every true Star Wars fans loyal duty to kill as many jedi as possible. Jedi are a faction in and of their own, they are NOT one of us. They only desire the powerwith out challenge and sport.

Yes the Jedi system we are keeping secret because we feel grinding multiple professions is a very secret and unique experience. it took us 3 years of development time to come up with this brilliant original idea.

Well before the holocrons, it was near impossible odds to hit the right profession mastery to get FS. Go look at the # of professions and calculate the odds of hitting the necessary professions needed to get glowy. The Jedi were so stinking rare, and they had no idea how they got to be Jedi in the first place, it just happend.

THat system would have worked fine, but then they added the hints and that blew it all to hell. Once that cat was out of the bag, it was hologrind till the cows came home.

And of course perma-death made them extra cautious. Would you want to lose a toon by something stupid like triple-incaps? This I think was a big flaw in the orginal Jedi system, because the risk of playing the toon far outweighed the benefit of having it,

FRIKKIN HILARIOUS READ, THANKS FOR THE FOND MEMORIES

Guess it was Ralph's opinion but obviously SOE marketing had a far different opinion. Marketing isnt about depth at all or immersion, its simply about catering to the lowest common denominator. In this case its all the Jedi-wanna bes. Marketing obviously is not capable of comprehending or caring about the depth of the Star Wars universe.
