Hey Grimjakk, just read your reply on the other post and you're quite correct in your point. Thought I'd reply here in order to try and centralise the topic, lol...

It does look like Bactashot will get nerfed somewhat, though I maintain my position that it's more "balancing" than "nerfing". As acombat-oriented profession, BH's shouldn't necessarily be able to heal so much without spending the SP to get some CM orDoc.Of course it'll make life a bit harder on new players, but Idon't think it's going to be *that* much harder.

And the alternative of buffing up theCM heals (and therefore the Doc ones as well, likely) will then unbalance the damage in the game, no?

I prefer using the bacta shot, even as a MCM. You don't have the hassle of tageting yourself. So this isn't a nerf to those who have a master healer in their template. But it will have an impact on those that just have the 4000 line of doc.

ah we already have an answer:

I am a little worried that this will be a big nerf... right now i have x/x/2/x medic and it sounds like they are going to make the regular version of bacta shot worthless...

At novice medic, you won't see any significant change in the amout of damage healed by (standard) Bacta Shot. However, as your Healing Efficiency increases, the gap between (standard) Bacta Shot, Improved Bacta Shot and Advanced Bacta Shot also increases.

At xx2x Medic you have a Healing Efficiency of 15. Prior to this change your Bacta Shot heals would average around 620 points. After this change, they will average around 535 points.

If you're stillworried about this change, then please take a little time to check it out for yourself.

They also nerfed the doc speed buff from 40 to 25% (compared to "nerfing" the Jedi buff from 25 to 20%) because, behold, you could stack doc and Jedi buffs. Of course they didn't make them unstackable.

Go figure.

The real reason for this was some ppl figured out that ALL spd buffs stacked. They would have a non master doc spd buff them, then get a master doc to speed buff them, then would use the mushroom pie from kash, then force spd. Agreed they should have made it where the spd buffs couldnt stack, but we all know SOE's track record of nerf nerf nerf, instead of, some very simple code changes which they already have done with spices/foods.

Well every time right before I start combat with a jedi, I always drink some Ruby Bleil to cut the cast time between usesing Stim Pac Ds. I use the 1100 heal Stim's for when hunting jedi and use the weaker ones for PvE.

I guess we will need to wait and see how huge the diffeence is, hopefully not that large.

I can live with a couple of hundred points less of bactashot... but wish they'd consider upping CM's "native" heal (bactaspray)to compensate.

I don't believe there's an "improved" or "advanced" bactashot in any CM line, and bacta toss isn't really useable in PvP due to the forced pause in movement.

Thats exactly what I was pointing out to Grim. People look at the Adv healing now if you are CM 4000, however people don't realize that this is actually bad for MBH's that hunt jedi and use their healing tooutlast them. Bacta Shot was the only REAL healing ability that we had because the Bacta toss roots you while it's being cast.

Ugh. I don't see this update helpful at all. Of course we need someone to test it on TC first.

Its pretty obvious that this wasn't a nerf aimed at the BH/J warriors, rather than a general bug fix to how basic heals were getting the same efficiency as advanced heals. This is probably intended to be anotherpub21 boost to the "the usefulness of Doctors in groups", like the buff duration changes.

As a CM4xxx (well, 3.9xxx), I'm dissapointed that my "best" heal (BASIC bactashot) is getting a nerf, but I'll wait to see how hard the hit is before I cry too much. If it's too much, we should start yelling for some buffage to BactaSpray's efficiency, or a removal of BactaTosses movement pause.

Or at least not having to target ourselves to heal. I can live with the movement pause, if i then didnt have to go look for my target again.

Can't you use "/bactatoss self;"?

Added another publish note:

Profession: Combat Medic, Doctor's and Medics

  • The Advanced version of Bacta Shot, Bacta Toss, Bacta Spray, and Bacta Jab will now heal more damage than the Improved or standard version of the same ability by a medic with the same Healing Efficiency
  • Players will always use the best version of the bacta heal available to that player

Assume this means your MBH/MR/Pistoleer xxx3/Medicxx2x toons are about to get the nerf stick.

I'm in the same boat though lol. Guess it's time to drop pistoleer all together and invest in Doc or CM.

Not sure I agree with you. As it reads, it says they are increasing the "Advanced" version, not decreasing the non advanced version. Of couse, that would not fit with SoE history, but that is how I read it.

EDIT: If it is a NERF I'd just like to say that I called it in Publish 19 when they NERFed Jedi healer that they would eventually NERF Medic because it was being used to kill Jedi.

I wish. I even run into problems with having to click back on my opponent to target them. One time i managed to accidentally hit invite while trying to retarget. I immediately got invites spammed right back at me by the jedi's friends.
Or at least not having to target ourselves to heal. I can live with the movement pause, if i then didnt have to go look for my target again.

Ive always been able to use Bacta Toss without targeting myself. I just hit the Bacta Toss button, and my toon would do a Bacta Toss at himself. Although I admit that I havnt used it in quite a while. I hate using the toss though because it makes me pause in combat. If I am Kiting, and fighting, I dont want to stop. Its bad enough I have to stop for Duelist Stance, but to keep stopping for a Bacta Toss too....I might as well just stand still for the entire fight, right there in striking distance of the Jedi.

One of the developers stated Bacta Shot before was averaging 620 before the patch and is now averaging 530 after the patch. He/She also stated the FS healing Line will now add Healing and Cure Efficiency.

Boxes 1 and 3 give +5 healing efficiency each, and 2 and 4 give +5 cure efficiency.

Just change you template to MBH, MR, 0003 Pistols, 0010 Medic, 3000 Heightened Senses.
