Thread: Jedi benefitting by just standing there

That mdef was simply employing stratedgy to beat the bh. I assume the bh was a cm as well. It is very easy to run aura, infusionand valor (valor may not be needed) and keep your mind and force full. The Jedi probably would have sat down if he could.

It appears the Jedi was waiting for the bh's spice to run out before attacking.

By standing there doing nothing but 'Defending' the Jedi wasn't using force and mind by hitting a bh that could obviously out-heal his damage. Employing that technique would quickly drain the Jedi's mind and force.

I employ a different tactic however. I like to follow the bh, put snare on him and keep armor break and hit with a low level saber attack. The longer the battle lasts the better. I dropped his helmit 20K one time doing this.

Hey Azfisher, that is a good idea, for master defenders that take low damage, just hit soft their armor to lower their condition, HAHAHA! that is good, they lost their armor and dont get cash HAHAHAAHA!!!

So Jedi bounties could be a way to waste cash if you have to much HAHAHAHA!

Can I suggest something obvious? you're not good

Many of BH give me a run for my money, then I come accross the likes of you, and yeah, I just stand their and watch in amusement w/o barely healing. I'm no expert BH, I don't have a BH alt (yet), but I do know there are two categories of BH, and you fall in the second category.

The jedi didnt beat me. He basically avoided losing....thats it. I dont think a good strategy should be to do nothing. That's ridiculous. If you are faced with a combat situation you should have to do something, even if that something is running away. I can see waiting for buffs etc to run out but mine did and he still didn't do anything. Honestly is jedi really just such a gay profession that you do nothing and claim that you won? If that is the case I can look at the bh terminals and say "hey look I kicked those jedi butts". Grinding afk on the ryatt (and this guy did I know) and then turning on force abilities is hardly even playing a game. If you jedi want to do this, I really feel sorry for you. Is jedi really about that? Is being a jedi about running around with your glow stick saying look I'm jedi number 100098 and you can't hurt me?

If that's where this game is going then I hope they keep the xp nerf in and I hope these people that play jedi like this move onto another game and ruin that one.

Why should he fight you if you can't prove that you can hurt him? Just standing there and doing nothing but defend himself is the ultimate insult to your pvp skills. Since he ran away he probably just got tired of you and wanted to do something else.

Against a Master Defender the max damage of your gun is irrelevant, the minimum damage is the important stat. His/her defence will be way higher then your accuracy. As for win or lose, if a BH fails to kill his/her target he/she has lost. A Jedi wins if they avoid death. As for Defender being overpowered go up against a melee stacker/healing template and tell us how you do.

Interesting your spice ran out and he didn't take advantage of it. I know one way to solve this, ask him.

The only possible answer I have is he was practicing. I've done that with krayts to break me of depending on macros to keep my defenses up.

Or, he may have possibly read one of my posts against defending against a bh/cm fotm. My first lesson was just to live... don't attack... just survive. Once you learn to defend against one of these, you can start attacking. It appears he passed with flying colors.

I always assume goodwill. Why you think he was intentionally antognizing (sp?) you is unfounded. Oh, and please stay away from dogmatic and sterotyphical terms like 'you guys'. I don't flaunt my saber or wear my robe in public.

i used to put on a macro with my knight while i was helping padies in ryatt, and one day i was watching a movie, so i was afk for about 2 hours, and when i came back ppl were telling me how this bh came for me, and couldnt kill me for nothing, so he just left

i had kd recover, infusion, valor, aura, infusion, channel every 40 secs, heal every 15 secsand dervish macro'd

they said the grinders toldthe bh iwas afk, and there was no way would would kill me, so in a lil bit he left

lol

ranged is broken atm in pvp it needs a fix. it's merely a semi-supporting role w/ it's roots delays and snares. the dmg output is minimal and the damage you can take as a ranged tempalte is next to nothing.

yes, he did beat you. you can argue, 'what did he win.' well, he won the same thing he would have won had he DBed you, no XP loss.

the object of the jedi in a BH - jedi fight is not to be killed by the BH, nothing more. did he occomplish this? yes he did.

his jedi is his toon, if he wants to just stand there that is his choice. you pay his $15 dollars a month then maybe you an tell him how to play.

It's called the Turtle Defense. Basically go inside the shell and take all the hits, which of course do little to you. Eventually the hunter gives up as they figure out they are unable to do anything at all. It appears that he played this defense very well and his strategy worked prefectly. You were defeated, simple as that.

I kill those melee stackers. I root them and hit them with vollies of attacks using quickdraw. But the defenses of a master defender just standing there is unkillable. It wouldn't have mattered if you had a damage capped t-21 with a damage powerup. It's not an issue of pvp skills...its an issue of game mechanics. I kill defenders that try to kill me back alot of the time. I wear their action down and can keep them on the ground. I make them use more force when they attack me back. I can get them to wear down their mind and action. So I think its lame that it's the best defense to just stand there. It shouldn't be that way. It's a flaw in the game design.

So you're all saying that I should just follow him around for the next 3 days and pretty much not let him play?
