Thread: Jedi benefitting by just standing there

Valor and aura are force hogs, if he tries to maintain all those powers at once he will quickly deplete himself if you keep your distance.
If he is a full template jedi, you will be fighting him for a long long time. Aura and Valor are nice but you can take foods and eliminate having to use Valor. Then with the use of stims, his force will regenerate fast enough that the fight could possible last for hours.
It sounds like the original posters weapons simply weren't that great. I have fought many bh's with my jedi and the ones that have good weapons or the current FOTM, (BH/CM combo) will make you actually have to fight. In fact they do win many fights.
I have a 945 damage featherweight fwg and 66 SAC and +33 accuracy bonus. If that's not a good pistol I don't know what is. I dont think a max damage t-21 would've made a difference. At best you'd be doing 300 damage a hit to this jedi as a nonjedi.

That mdef was simply employing stratedgy to beat the bh. I assume the bh was a cm as well. It is very easy to run aura, infusionand valor (valor may not be needed) and keep your mind and force full. The Jedi probably would have sat down if he could.
It appears the Jedi was waiting for the bh's spice to run out before attacking.
By standing there doing nothing but 'Defending' the Jedi wasn't using force and mind by hitting a bh that could obviously out-heal his damage. Employing that technique would quickly drain the Jedi's mind and force.
I employ a different tactic however. I like to follow the bh, put snare on him and keep armor break and hit with a low level saber attack. The longer the battle lasts the better. I dropped his helmit 20K one time doing this.

The jedi didnt beat me. He basically avoided losing....thats it. I dont think a good strategy should be to do nothing. That's ridiculous. If you are faced with a combat situation you should have to do something, even if that something is running away. I can see waiting for buffs etc to run out but mine did and he still didn't do anything. Honestly is jedi really just such a gay profession that you do nothing and claim that you won? If that is the case I can look at the bh terminals and say "hey look I kicked those jedi butts". Grinding afk on the ryatt (and this guy did I know) and then turning on force abilities is hardly even playing a game. If you jedi want to do this, I really feel sorry for you. Is jedi really about that? Is being a jedi about running around with your glow stick saying look I'm jedi number 100098 and you can't hurt me?
If that's where this game is going then I hope they keep the xp nerf in and I hope these people that play jedi like this move onto another game and ruin that one.
I don't understand why you are so upset about this. Honestly, that is how he defends him/her self. There are many jedi who are not that way. I'm sure you could get another mission. I am not flaming. But you will come across a jedi who will do this.
Maybe your weapon of choice was not suitable. Not every mark will be that of an NPC. Some jedi will run, some will fight, and some will do what this jedi did.
A bounty hunter said that "A good bounty hunter uses his brain" you can hold his mission for 3 days. Im sure he will not maintain the appearance of a statue for three days.
it will also apply to the jedi in this case. He used what he felt was appropriate. Just like you did.
I apologize for your frustration. But I saw that as good tactics on both of your parts.

Ok took on a obvious Master Defender. Attacked him. Made him heal once. He turned on all the lights and buzzers, force shield, force armor, valor etc lalala right. So as a pistoleer bh I know that I have to keep hitting him, run his action out try to get him on the ground etc. It will be a long fight but I'll stay for the long run......BUT he just stands there. His action never gets low because he doesn't attack back. I knock him down he gets back up. He heals with stims mostly and when he does have to heal with force it doesn't matter to his mind. My pistols do about half their minimum damage since he's got all these things going. So he benefits by doing nothing. His action never moves, his mind recovers and no doubt his force is hardly affected. I'm actually playing the game and trying to beat him and I dont care if its a tough fight BUT really this is retarded. Eventually he runs away. I let him go because it was just stupid.
Is this intended?
1) Benefits? How? What "benefit" does the jedi get from standing there doing nothing? The ONLY in-gamebenefit a jedi can get in a BH situation is a little PVP rating if he/she wins.
2) How do you know the jedi wasn't roleplaying a "good" jedi who uses the force "only for knowledge and defense, never for attack"? Straight from the little green dude himself...
