Thread: A quick note on term changes...

Yay for an actual clarification on this!
As long as you're here, could you tell us why exactly was this change implemented? (specifically: what problems was it supposed to "solve"?)
This is going to be good for all you BHs out there !!!

The patch notes that were put up were only partial, so you missed a few of them. For clarity's sake until pub 20 is pushed to Test. Names will now translate into "Rebel Jedi", "Imperial Jedi", "Neutral Jedi". Missions will only be generated if the target is online at the time, this doesnt guarantee they dont log for dinner, etc. At least you know they are online at the time of mission generation. There is also a fairly significant one in there were once the BH attacks(even if the Jedi doesn't fight back), the TEF flag is set and prevents Jedi from doing things that TEF's prevent, like entering houses.

thank you Blixtev, the faction display and online status were the two things that glaringly needed to be included, and the tef change is quite sensible...In regards to any concerns regarding the reasoning for these changes, I have included an exerpt from a prior post on the Jedi forums:
now is a time for diplomacy, if the changes go through it is a new oppurtunity to make a fresh start with this mechanic that has been so awful for so long, abuses have caused it to take on proportions I'm sure were never intended.
what this will fix:
BH's systematicly targeting an individual or group of individuals in the hopes of halting their progression.
BH's in general going after younglings who have very little hope of defending themselves.
BH's in general never going after full template padawans or knights.
BH's sitting at terminal with other BH's to get the same mission and get a 2 on 1 or greater advantage, not by chance, but by plan.
BH's targeting a specific Jedi because they know they are actively engaged in combat in the hopes of cutting off assistance, in order to allow the other combatants an advantage.
BH's using their "friend" list to keep track of enemies.
BH's sending tells to Jedi for no other reason than that they are on the terminal.
BH's choosing a friendly Jedi mission in order to shield them from other BH's.
BH's taking a mission solely to die at the hands of a friendly Jedi for FRS advancement purposes.
What needs to be added?:
A BH should only see targets of neutral or opposing faction on the terms. Fixed
Some type of online status indicator, other than the actual use of a droid. Fixed

Nice try....but making us THINK we are getting something because the "TEF" is getting fixed is just pathetic. Your NOT giving us anything! Your giving our "TEF" BACK! This is nothing to get excited about, and hardly a "gift".
It's good to see you FINALLY found the cause of the "broken" TEF....and what convient timing. As far as I see this BH situation the Devs have created...the "significance" of fixing the TEF system is completely destroyed by this new system.
I'm so glad that a FRS Jedi cannot run into their house once they start to kill me. I think everyone (Devs included) have forgotten that there are MANY "fully templated Padawans" that cannot be killed by a MBH (another imposing change)...WTH is going to happen when FRS returns? You cannot, with ANY system, stop BHs from deciding who they try to kill and who they do not. As soon as I get to my target and see that it is a FRS Jedi (level 80), I will drop the mission, and go grab another.
This is a VERY bad move for the health of this game. First (inadvertently perhaps) you introduced HORRIBLE code with the LOS, then came Double XP....this sped Jedi production by almost 10 times as fast (6 months now takes 6 weeks)...is this your intention? Seriously?
Look...make your changes, and fulfill the Devs wishlist....but please DON'T insult me while you take my money and ACT like your giving this community something new. Fixing something your broke intentionally in the first place...is nothing to /cheer about.
Hey Blixtev....if I PM you with my telephone number, will you call me and tell me exactly what in the world the Devs are thinking? Perhaps at least fill me in on the justification for these changes...maybe you could just tell me it's money...I'd accept that, but at least I'd know.

very well, can you shed light on what problems these changes address?

They want to make Jedi vs. BH 1 on 1. That is not news. That's been the "rumor" since fan fest.
Then they need to make it 1 on 1 and not 1 on 1.5. They need to bring Jedi down to the level of other 250 point characters.
