Welcome to the profession

A couple things: THe ham costs on Headshot3 don't really scale right compared to HS2. Unless you're musician buffed or on Muon gold (or other mind-buffing foods) stick to HS2 if you need your mind for anything more thana couple shots. HS2 is more cost-efficient, unless you're mind is buffed.

The other thing- at 2 0 0 0 rifleman, you're really not ready for pvp yet most ppl agree that a Rifleman really has no business in pvp until master (unless you're grouping with a lot of players, but even then...)

The difference between 4444 and Master is night and day, and a +5 rifle speed tape on top of that really takes your skills to yet another level.

G'luck with the profession!

My PVP advice.

Master Sharpshooter First and then Join a good PVP guild.

As an unguiled person it's rough joining with any joe blow imp group with zero knowldge of eachother and zero tactics. Ya some pickup teams can do good if they have a good leader, but only a PVP guild with planning and knowledge of each other's capabilities can play in the elite PVP field.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

Thanks for advice. I was in a group, still kept getting killed! Had some standard composite on, on Lowca Good Composite armor goes for 700k+ so cant really afford it yet. I don't need to be the toughest character around I just want to compete, just felt like a joke not killing anyone meanwhile I get killed 8+ times.

CH is useless in PvP now... still good for PvE.

Pistoleer doesn't have a HAM pool to attack... they are fairly useless as a result. Check the Pistoleer forum for confirmation.

Artisan is pointless for PvP as you know.

In other words, at this point, you should either go Bounty Hunter Pistols with Pistoleer or surrender all of your skills and start over.

Pistoleer has bodyshots and healthshots which target the, you guessed it, health pool.

Double tap, and eventually stopping shot! target health also, something that attacked Mind would prob be better. Correct me if I am wrong but every attack affects HAM in one way or another otherwise it is not an attack.

Poorest attacks in the game... the health pool is easily healed.

I currently am a master marksman, artisan 4/0/3/2, novice medic, pistoleer 2/2/1/2 and ch 2/2/1/2. Itried some PvP yesterday and got owned died 10 times killed 0. I like CH and def want to keep novice medic, and would like to have some ranged attack for PvE. Any recommendations on how to balance my combat abilities?

If I were you, I'd get rid of all my marksman abilities except pistols, then master pistoleer and supplement yourself with ch/medic abilities. You could also take your skill points out of artisan and put them into smuggler, a profession which complement pistoleer quite nicely.

However, the only way you'll "own" atPvPis to become a flavor of the month character, which is currently rifleman/tka with the rest of your points towards combat medic.

CH's will always get owned in pvp, creatures are not a threat to the hardcore pvper.

i suggest you take the points from medic (keeping novice of course) and some from marksman, to master an elite combat profession. you can keep ch but let that not be an stragety in pvp - its only a distraction in pvp not a power. (bounty hunter is a possiblilty but its a lot of skillpoints)

armor is a must in pvp, get a suit of composit if you dont already have one, and a good shield genn wont hurt.

in the end you must have high lvl combat skills to compete in pvp and for your first few encounter go in a group, youll learn more and survive longer

Im kinda new to PVP... can one of you elders (heh, /bow in respect to fellow BH'rs) point me in the direction for a nice indept info on PvP.

Im currently at BH 0.4.4.3/Carbineer 0.0.0.2/Pistoleer 0.0.0.1 - I'll probably drop Pistoleer to dabble more into Carbineer. But I have a few questions; Like is wearing full armor worth it? or just like the helmit, Chestplate and maybe gloves good enough? Is it important to has the other person challenge you instead of vice versa? Dont you get a free shot in when they challenge you? What skills should I be consentrating on?

thanks for your help.
