Before reaching Jedi on my main toon I had a template that was even "worst" than this and I still maintained a combat rating in the high 1600's. Before CU I was MBH, MP, Novice carb, FS Relexes 4400, FS combat 4400. Being that I had invested the skill points and not able to respec out of FS my template stayed the same after CU. My only healing was from stims.
Being that I liked my old template so much I made my kids toon, on another server, with the same template your suggesting. Now that I have the healing abilities from CM I am able to take down jedi even better. So far I have had about a 85% success rate with my kids toon and its with a pup'ed unsliced proton carb, pup'ed unsliced scatter with base dps of 307, crap armor, and no skill tapes. The only thing I do use other than stims is food.
Don't listen to all those people telling you to go carbs or pistols because of saber throw. Try digging up a few of my old posts where I talk about fighting Jedi with this template and remeber SABERTHROW IS YOUR FRIEND.
Pistoleer is wicked awesome cool.
Not everything in the game revolves around hunting jedi...the template is fine

Well, you have the right attitude kid. But don't think for a second that it's going to be like playing Super Mario Bros. Games have advanced since your dad played. Keep in mind that every Jedi that you fight will be different. Also keep in mind that they are already stronger than you. Your template is only 25% of the fight. Keep in mind that good foods will be 25% of it also. The other 60% will be skill. And if you know anything about math, that equals 110%.
Use tactics, never go in guns a blazin' unless you know for a fact that they are weakened. Think of yourself as the lion and the Jedi are the elephant. If the lion runs in on a healthy full grown elephant... he's not going to walk away from the fight. Watch and follow your mark for a bit. Attack only when you know you can win.
My template is MRM, MBH, CM 1003, i still get a little healing (not as much as if i just get 4000 cm, but enough) and im using a T-21 1.45 speed, 1200 max damage with slice/power up...one sniper shot does 1500 damage from 75m (I got the +10 ranged arm) now, i just finished this temp yesterday (i used to be MP, MBH, CM) and i like this one a lot more, first jedi mission i took i pwned, he didnt even see me to run away, just sniper, kd, snare and crit. shot and head shot ftw. i never took down a jedi that fast with pistols, but, if you get the right equipment, and use the right strategies, then you can be a good bh with just about any template, its all your play style, and i found out that i was a master rifleman type play style.
i also have a T-21 fully speed sliced and having a speed power up on it, its got .81 speed, and 955 max damage, my modified DPS is 875, and i attack with that faster than i used to with my Scatter Pistol
and, to avoid the accuracy thing at close range, i take a accuracy boosting food (cant remember the name) but, it increase it like 125 for a min or so, but, thats all ive needed so far.

I only get to play at night and on weekends because I spend the time I get off of work with my family. I have a lot of experience with online role playing games.
