My suggestion for you would be to play what you enjoy playing. By the time you are halfway through the pistols you will have a sense if you are going to like it or not. Just because their are alot of one template doesn't mean it is the template that fits your playstyle. The thing to remember is that you can have the best template out there, but if the style doesnt' fit you or it isn't enjoyable then you will probably not reach your full potential.

I played on sonoma mostly and greatlakes part time. I switched to Great lakes after we had our house built because we can't get cable in this area but after the first of the year we might actually be geting cable but it is gonna cost me to extend the lines but it will hopefully ge worth it because to get a dish for sattelite it will cost me 500 bucks inmy area for high speed and the cost after words is 60 bucks a months and I am not paying that kinda cash for something that I will loose reception with if we get a storm here or any kinda of high winds that could possibly damage the dish. So I am going to pay to get the cable lines extended to my house and get road runner, heck RR is only 29.99 in my area so thats not too bad.

Chesapeake and Catskills man here, still activate my 3 accounts (rotate them every 2 months to keep my Towers/large houses) - but thinking of ebaying them and sticking strictly with SWG, EQ2and Guild Wars. Too many items accumulated over the years to just let them go, not to mention the time involved to get so many legendary characters. I cant believe I have been playing that game for almost 7 years now.

Like some people have said here, play what you like. Yes, you have to get closer to your mark and risk getting hit with saber throw, and if lag is bad, you're pretty much screwed...but you have more defense than most other ranged profs, and you a root as well. The main thing is play the way you feel comfortable playing...rifles is too slow for my own playstyle, but pistol and carbine both fit it pretty well.
I agree, though that you should get a ranged cybernetic arm, it adds 10m to your range. (I'm going to go this way myself).

well I dropped all my other games and I am focusing on SWG now, even with all the bugs I love this game it has been a great experience for me and I am dedicated to playing it now so I hope that the devs make this game the way we want it and make it the best MMORPG there is.

I played Baja. My chars name was MaStErMaJ or some people knew me as Majere =P, thus bringing my SWG name to AD_MAJ =p

Was MBH / MCM / Rifles 0004 did pretty well with that temp and got upto 25 heads with it. most full to near full temps.
Just re grinded to MBH / MPistols Cm 0004.
So far its a few wins a couple of draws and a couple of losses. Taking my time to learn this new temp and what shots do the best damage etc. My heals are still pretty good with some +17 healing efficiency clothes.
Paid a hefty price for my new Weapon. with a good grip PUP my mod dps is 811 and speed is at 0.82 with kinetic damage. Any Mark not a Master defender and Master LS is getting ripped into for 600 damage a second. Add in thyroid and electrolyte drain on them and its a pretty quick fight.
My last fight was MLS MDEF and that ended in a long fight that ended in a draw. So far i like it.

I think your template rocks and you can be succesful hunting jedi with it. Stopping Shot is one of the single best tactical attacks against jedi period. It can be used for defense and offense. You also have good healing. last but not least Scatter Pistols are just plain cool....have fun killing jedi.

Also load up on General ranged or rifle tapes and you can start damaging out at range, and switch to pistols when they get close. Just because your title says pistols doesn't mean you can't use rifles or carbines. You may not be as good, but there isn't a reason you can't keep up the pressure while they are out that far either.
