my reasons:

1. the trill of the hunt

2. jedi will be endgame of swg

3. bh is the underdog

4. everyone loves jedi, ( in movies to its k), but in swg what the game was meant to be which it isnt.

5. gotten sick of jedi

"First off, you say "ALL Jedi" wich is a HUGE generalization... there are plenty of Jedi that stick to their own little corner of the galaxie that you probably don't even know exsist. Some of these Jedi, however, do end up on the BH terminal for reasons partially out of their control."
__
I doubt it, i strongly do. SMART jedi, stay the **edit** out of town, they dont do missions where they get recorded and they dont ever use force powers for no apparent reson. I have guild jedi than we're never killed before, one of my guilds jedi has never been hunted by a Bounty Hunter...ever. Because hes smarter than your average dumbass out there who thinks he can own the world because they're Novice Padawan.
__
"Second, no amount of Bounty Hunters are gonna keep the Jedi poplulation down. To a Jedi a Bounty Hunter is simply a speed bump on the way through their journey. I have never met a Jedi who quit the game because they couldn't handle the Bounty Hunters lol."
__
Then you don't pay enough attention;

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=jedi&message.id=499573&highlight=#M499573

Thats just one. He posted a PETHETIC whine and threat to quit. I've seen some of these where a jedi was clone camped and he quit, a guild ganked a jedi so many times he quit, and combat medic killed a jedi in the squil caves and he quit."
__
"And even if they did quit is that what you want? To completely suck the fun out of someones gaming experience to the point that they would quit after months and months of dedication?"
__
Quote:
Do i hate Jedi? A little
Do i enjoy watching them suffer? No
UnQuote:

Maybe you should learn to read.
__
"All of your examples are just generalizations and cookie cutter things that you hear ranted on the forums w/o any specific examples. "
__
Nope, i play the game. I've been in a position since day two where i watched the Jedi from a neutral point of veiw, take over, the day i saw 3 Rebel Jedi in Theed (pre patch) slaughter 50 Imperials and then laugh at them was when i knew this game was going to hell. I saw their behavior getting worse and worse as time progressed. If you say you've never seen or heard about a Jedi being a complete **edit** to ANYONE, weather it be a Bounty Hunter or a Doctor who buffs them, then your either a Jedi yourself or your just plain stupid.
__
"How is it that Jedi abuse there power? Sure there are a few bad seeds, but that can be said for any profession."
_
Last time i checked Jedi just got two patches while we got jack f'in **edit**, you can't say we abuse our power when most of our power is broken. The Jedi are now the voice of the people, since most people now are, are going, or are considering to go Jedi. The devs think that what they have to say is always important, some stuff is, but sometimes they just complain and take GREATLY needed attention away from the rest of us who aren't glowsick weilding freaks who were only one of our proffesion for a few days.
__
"In reality they are very cordial with the rest of the player base, considering they are the fall guy for just about every problem in the game according to these message boards."
__
Not every problem, I never blame the Jedi because my Flamethrower doesn't work right, or that my Light Lighting Cannon needs more Accuracy, or that Smuggler has Zero content, or that the Galactic Civil War is a complete joke...Oh wait, i do. Because if Jedi never existed like they're supposed to then my Flamethrowe WOULD work, and Bounty Hunter specials WOULD be fixed, and Smuggler contend WOULD be added, its all just delays, delays, delays for the Devs...Why? Jump to Lightspeed and Jedi...their two "Favoirte" children. Their #1 Monymakers.
__
"Also, if you want to read some "OMGZOR we suck we need better powers" check a few months back on the BH boards... It was for a time THE primire board for whining, complaining, and genral hatred of everything in the game."
__
The farther back i look the more bitching i see, i remeber the forums to be a place where you could post your ideas and get FEEDBACK from the devs, thats how the AT-ST got nerfed, thats how the Creature Handeler got nerfed, thats how Commandos for their 4 nerfs. Then they stoped checking for things to nerf. We scream nerf, we make pettitions, we vent all our furstration on eachother because nobody will listen. If the devs listened to US maybe we would be a little nicer to you...All of you.

Now i'm tired, so if you have a snappy responce then save it, and post it a few pages back tommorow morning to i can continue to defend my beliefs.

I'm a Master Smuggler that has just started working on minimal BH... 3040 so I can add Jedi-hunting to my list of smarmy activities.

Why? Well in-character for the money.

Out of character because I want to include the Jedi-content in my game and I absolutely can not stand grinding. So, if I won't join 'em I figure I'll hunt 'em.

Its the ultimate end game. Hunting down a more powerfull profession that may be protected by several FOTM template stackers is my content. I do nothing else. Ever.

1) I like being the underdog

2) I like the thrill of hunting a mark who, most likely, will kick the crap out of me.

3) I want to humble Jedi. Not grief, Humble I like taking the arrogant types and knocking them down a peg. Most Jedi I know are the type 1, "Whoopse, got on the boards!" Jedi who accept whats going on. But those #2 Jedi... thems are fun to kill. I like knocking jerks down a peg.

4) The thrill of the hunt itself. Chasing a highly mobile target is challenging.

5) Jedi who pretend to be BH's so they can come to our boards and whine about being hunted, because they think saying they are a BH will make us accept their ideas and not call them what they are, whiners.

Another thing to note is that in the Jedi forums he said he is about to become a Jedi.

Interesting thread, I've played a great deal of the game as a Master Bh and as a Jedi, as a BH I would hunt Jedi for, well the thrill of the hunt, certainly more challenging then usual PvP or any NPC mission.

I would also like to take a moment to remind some of you that the Knights you see showboating around the starports are doing so because their template is done, so XP loss (or debt, so to speak at that point) has minimal impact on them.

I assure you, these guys while certainly being the most visible, represent maybe about 15% of the total Jedi population on each server, there are plenty who do everything humanly possible to stay off the terms, hunt in seclusion and fear XP loss greatly.

Don't be quick to judge all of one group by the few pompousfew you happen to see, that wouldn't be any more fair to Jedi then it would be to judge all BH's by some of the more infantile posts on these forums.

I am a long time player that is currently working on the Jedi quests to open up my slot. I'm getting closer every day, and a couple day ago I started putting together a template that I really want to persue.

My first question is, will Master Saber / Master Healer / 4/0/0/4 Enhancer be a viable template in PvE and PvP? ...

My last question is in regard to Jedi Healing and visibility... It seems kinda unfair for a Master Healer to gain visibility by healing commrads and such.. I mean the powers are built directly into the tree. If someone could varify that they do gain visibility from using any of their force heal specials on another player, that may be enough for me to rewrite my template.

Hmmm, I can see now from the above post (post history is a great thing), why the only option you suggested for rational of BH missions was griefing. I guess you do want to play a Jedi, but not be a PvP char. Well, not at least until you are a Knight anyway .

A simple question that I am very curious to see answered by the BH community...

First off let me say that I am a Master Bounty Hunter and have been so the better part of a year.

A few months ago when the droids started working and what-not, I started taking player Jedi missions... I have a list in my bio of all the bounties I've collected, but lately I am starting to wonder why I ever did player bounties at all.

Recenly a very good friend of mine, and the person who got me involved with SWG in the first place unlocked his Jedi. This made me think. I thought about all of the Player Jedi that I have hunted and it really put into perspective how pointless and just plain mean taking player bounties is.

The way I see it there are really only 2 reasons that someone would want to hunt a Jedi.

1) They are a hardcore Roleplayer and are simply playing the role of a ruthless Bounty Hunter. (However this, at least on my server, is not very likely seeing how almost nobody roleplays in any form)

2) They are a pure griefer, and take pleasure in physically causing unrest in other peoples lifes and gaming experience.

I flat out stopped hunting Jedi for this reason alone... It's not going to "control" the population in any way to hunt Jedi and cause xp loss. People who play Bounty Hunter under this guise are fooling them selves because anyone who is playing a Jedi went to the extreme lengths to reach that goal... Simply put, I am not going to participate in this act any more because it involves another players personal time, wich is something I have no right to intrude on in such a large fashion. There are a lot of good people out there playing Jedi just to have fun, and the grind is already bad enough for them that they don't need some random BH comming to add hour apon hour to that grind.

Because I enjoy playing a gimped profession takeing on the end game of many other players, testing my brains vs their brawn and see who wins.

Because Patience is a virtue, I waited until the right time to kill them, they can wait for the right time to finish that template.

Because they convince several people to sacrifice their time to protect, heal, or whatever for them so they can grind.

Because once they start to PvP, their ego's become impossible to contain-Humility is a lesson that most refuse to learn, it takes a good teacher to really get through to a thick-headed student

I have a few reasons to hunt jedi. It isn't any kind of personal grudge. I feel this is the only real star wars-ish experience in the game. I know the chances of me taking out a jedi are slim to none, butwhen I manage to killa jedi my job is done, then I'll go and kill another one. My character is aligned with the Empire and sees that destruction of jedi is necessary. There are no sacred cows in my book. So I guess I'd fall under merciless BH... muahhahaha
