Were you looking at the damage in the chat box or the damage over the target's head? The main advantage of the laser carbine is that it's AR2.

wat are u talking about with laser i always get around 1400 and mine is a lot worse then yours lol

If you only use it to apply status effects and knockdown from skills such as Confusion and Underhand/FireKnockdown, use a low HAM carbine like the DH-17 snub-nose.

If you want to use a carbine to do the majority of your dmg, you need to have several types. I recommend at least a laser (energy) and DXR6 (acid). Both have armor-piercing > 0. When you get to your mark, /examine it's resistances and armor-level, and use your judgement on which carbine would be best. If you want to be completely well-rounded, carry around an EE3 for heat dmg. Most of the time, though, the laser and DXR6 should be enough.

Adding a +max_dmg powerup to the laser carbine makes it very deadly

I would have to agree with using a laser carbine. Mine does upwards of 1100 damage using a 'special'. The only problem is the minimum damage when not using specials can be horribly low (not a problem for PvE though).

As is always the case, variety is your best option. Have at least 3 different types of damage to do - whether it's a Acid Pistol, Energy Carbine, or Heat Carbine etc etc.

Im a novice carbineer and I just wanted some people to post the stats of their carbine so i could get an idea of what a good one is like. Also wanted advice on the one i should get

im currently using a laser carbine that is 3.0 spd, 39-264 dmg and HAM costs are 29 45 22

the HAM costs are killing me and im finding it difficult to level up. im 0002 atm and probably only going to go up the abilites line. It seems overcharge2 is still my most powerful attack and its only doing about 600-1100 dmg and is pretty slow. Mostly i wanted to get a better gun though, anyone have any good krayt carbines?

I would suggest 0-3-0-2 at a minimal. Following a KD with cripple shot, you can do around 1k damage in PvP. As for the HAM costs? Welcome to the wide world of carbineers. It will be adressed by the DEVs at some point. I would suggest ya brown nose adoctor, eat food, inject drugs, etc. But I hate that line of play.



That being said, our counter insurgency line is getting a huge boost soon. But, a lot of things still need to be worked out. We are not a horrible class by any means, but we do have a lot of broken specials atm.



If HAM bothers use, find a good snubnose DH17. IMO, that also is lousy answer. ATM, Laser carbine outshines most others. Sure, theres the off chance that Mob x may have vulnerability Y, so use your DXR6. But, 999 times out of 1000 I stick to Laser.

just the fact that my laser is AP2 and double the dmg of my dxr6, i always use it unless the mob has 100% energy resists (almost never)

I went from a 4.7 Laser carb made for HAM (20-200 dmg after dmg slice) (Ham is 16 23,20, I think) I went to an Elite Carbine with 2.6 speed and a hams in the 20s and 40s for action and it's so much nicer firing specials.

Im currently using a krayt laser as my main weapon. Stats are as follows:



Attack Speed 2.3


Damage 56-344


50/60/47 HAM.


It was built using 60 damage tissue (dont remember the speed, but I think .402) the best resources available on Chil. server, stocked, and scoped.


Im working on getting tissue now for when Elites are fixed. Im hesitant to spend a good chunk of credits on an Elite now, in hopes they will be fixed soon.

60 action cost?? how many specials can you fire off without buff?? I thought the 40 action cost on mine was bad :S those are nice dmg and spd though
