what would your response be if a master CM told you to stop polluting his/her profession by just taking healing??

My response would be: Read my sig, dumbass. Want to tell me where there's room for a Master BH/Master Smuggler to dabble in Combat Medic?

The only thing I'd find offensive is that someone that stupid was trying to argue with me.

If you're serious, you're just as stupid as he is... I am a Master of it, you imbecile.

(my apologies if you were just kidding - but such a remark wouldn't surprise me.)

Completely incorrect and quite the opposite unfortunately.

The only thing that determines the quality of loot is the CL of the NPC and the only thing that determines the CL of the NPC is the hunter's CL. A CL 82 double gold chevron with 33k health from a MBH bounty can have just as good or better/worse as a CL 82 normal with 7k health from a NBH bounty.

You could pick up Master Rifles and Master CM to boost your CL to 80, then pick up Nov BH (no investigation) and farm CL 82 bounties inside Coronet all day. Your loot would be the exact same quality as someone with MBH, but you'd be getting it in a fraction of the time it takes a MBH to travel offworld. As shallow as this sounds, people are already doing it now (and for anyone who's upset at me for spreading this tactic: bite me. The more people who use it and the more public it becomes, the sooner it will get rectified).

But if you are concerned about your actual power in a fight, I'd suggest getting MBH anyhow. Advanced critical shot is king, I believe Underhand shot is the only non-AOE KD without an animation, Duelist stance is nice for anything (but Jedi, thanks to their small damage spread), and sprayshot will be very handy once states are fixed. You also get some mighty fine weapon certs and thegeneric modsstack with any ranged profession.

Oh yeah, and traversing the vast wilderness of the galaxy to fight a 33k ranged NPC is, for me at least, very enjoyable.

If you're in BH only for the loot, go for it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Novice BH was about the same as master BH loot wise, untill P23 (I think) where you could only get boss marks at Master (?). Don't know if that changed the loot much, but I would take the investigation lines for the NPC marks, because of the speed and effectivness which = faster missions...

BH isnt really a dabbler's profession anymore (pre-CU ), so its best to go for master, or at least 4xxx for NPCS.

Not anymore Samous...it has been tweaked to where MBH get the elite and bosses...as well as the loot.

You must be new here, or else you've forgotten how they "rectify" things. They don't fix it so that only the exploiters suffer, they bone us all. They'd probably "rectify" it by nerfing the loot back to the way it used to be (i.e., non-existent). I'll be damned if smacktards are going to screw us because they need something else to do now that the Bat Cave is out of business.

What he said. If you're only considering BH because you're a lewt wh0re, kindly pollute someone else's profession.

I'm in it for the hunt - the loot is merely nice compensation.

I'm sorry oh so high and mighty master i bow down before you......sheesh I'm sorry but I am in this game for fun. I pick up any profession that is gonna add to my enjoyment, so I say again what is wrong about picking up parts of a profession to get loot or to get healing for example, what would your response be if a master CM told you to stop polluting his/her profession by just taking healing?? It is exactly the same thing but I'm sure you would take offence at that. So please don't preach to me about what prof to take

Dont worry about what these a-type personality tards say. Originally there were no player bounties at MBH...it was all NPC missions, aka following waypoints. So this "Its all about the hunt" crap is exactly that. The fact is loot threads get more attention than any other in this forum, so youre not the only one after loot. If someone tells you that loot is irrelevant, ask them for it since they dont care about it.

If you want to dabble in BH feel free. It's a game in which you cando whatever you want. My first temp was MCarbs with0400BH for the speed cap.

I got a lot more loot at novice than i get nowat master. You can run more missions as a novice because there is no droid/planet hopping delay, so the law of averages will net you more loot, but the quality may vary. The only real way to know if dabblers get good loot isto test it yourself, and research the past loot threads.

First they came for the Jedi and I did not speak out because I was not a Jedi.
Then they came for the Bounty Hunters and I did not speak out because I was not a Bounty Hunter.
Then they came for the crafters and I did not speak out because I was not a crafter.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

no i dont think so .. in fact i dont think ANY skill boxes are worth having in BH if you dont plan to go master bounty hunter .. your better off getting master DOC with another proffession and picking up a CM debuff line or a pistol roots line .. and farming LOOT off NPC's

I find your opinion to be rather amusing. First of all, I'd reserve the label "a-type tard" to someone who chooses a profession in a role playing game simply because of the loot. These are the same types who try to tweak out the perfect template to "own" everyone else, the same type who used to roll the dice over and over until they got 18s for every stat on their D&D character...

And those NPC missions? There was no loot, except for a few credits. Those of us who were bounty hunters back then did so because they liked the profession, not because we wanted loot. It's nice that we finally get a reward commensurate to the challenge, better still that there's a challenge at all now. If making sure that the profession isn't spoiled by people who don't really care about it makes me an "a-type tard", all I can do is laugh and point you and the OP to the nearest CounterStrike server.

Do you have any patch notes for this? I'd be thrilled if this was true, but I thought all that was tweaked was what inv. levels get what kind of marks. I didn't see anything about only elites and bosses dropping better loot or normals dropping worse.
