Thread: if you don't have MBH is it worth having any investigation boxes for npc missions?
ah right so it is now all or nothing then?
*cry* ah well i ain't got enough sp to master bh without totally doing in my offensive skills or totally getting rid of my medic skills (I am 4-0-4-0 defender 4-0-4-4 bh, 4-0-0-4 rifles and 0-2-1-0 medic). Anyone have any ideas what it would be best to drop to get MBH or would I be better off dropping the investigation line and maybe picking up more from rifle?
Has anyone had success getting loot with no investigation boxes?

Um..... BHing is not about loot... Yes it should be all or nothing. I think yoru into this for the wrong reason. There are a few MBH / JEDI on our server. The took MBH for hunting Jedi. Not loot. Loot is nice, but should not be the whole reason you are taking this prof. If I am reading you're template correctly, There really is nothing you can drop besides defender, then dump into rifle and medic.. But I am thinking PVP and 35k marks.

Well the main reason I take (or dabble) in any proffesion is to addabilities to my char so I can do what I want in the game. I totally respect your views however, and I would prob have Jedi say exactly the same thing about only having part of Defenderin my template instead of full Jedi.
Is there a wrong reason for taking any skills in this game? Not in my mind, as you get this in everything, some people prefer to concentrate on mastering certain things and as a reward for putting in the time to do everything they have more scope in what they can do with it and how good they are, and there are some people that will study a subject/skill/etc to just get what they need from it and then move on to another subject/skill sometimes to compliment the first, sometimes not. Means that they are not as good as the master in that area but can do things that the master can't due to his devotion to his craft.
SWG is a great game for being able to dabble in all different types of skills instead of just being a Warrior or a Mage. I like Hunting NPC marks (and yeah loot is a major part of this) and that adds to my game experience, I never have been a great pvp fan (only taken part in it about 3 or 4 times in nearly two years) so it is not really an aspect that would entice me to spend skill points getting to that point.
In my opinion they should have the loot spread on the same tier system as the skill boxes are. At least this way it would reflect the investment in skill points and still makes sure that the "Masters" excel at there craft while the dabblers still have some reason to dabble, otherwise we may as well just eliminate dabbling and make it so that everyone has 2-3 master proffesions.
btw I do think it is wrong that Novice BH's could get the same loot as master, I am not just wanting master level stuff for a lesser SP investment hence the reason I did not just stick with novice but got as much Investigation as I could
im in this profession for the wrong reasons, lol, but i dont care, im all about loot
when the next patch comes through and its commando that gets all the good loot, guess what profession ill be dropping? lol

I'm sorry oh so high and mighty master i bow down before you......sheesh I'm sorry but I am in this game for fun. I pick up any profession that is gonna add to my enjoyment, so I say again what is wrong about picking up parts of a profession to get loot or to get healing for example, what would your response be if a master CM told you to stop polluting his/her profession by just taking healing?? It is exactly the same thing but I'm sure you would take offence at that. So please don't preach to me about what prof to take

What he said. If you're only considering BH because you're a lewt wh0re, kindly pollute someone else's profession.
I'm in it for the hunt - the loot is merely nice compensation.

/agree
I lost 300k last night hunting jedi because I had to purchase vehicle restoration kits (barc go BOOM!!! )
I could care less... I laughed the entire time. Hunting Jedi is such a rush, and it's really not cost effective when compared to hunting NPCs... I do a few NPCs at night just to try and recover some cash from droid/armor/weapon/barc explosions *cough*/remove-strange-cybernetic-arm-that-suddenly-appeared/misc. costs.
