bah,I just had aglimmerof hope Ican kill jedi by beginning the fight with a few spray shots, but guess not

I personally like my template, the pistoleer is good for when I have to pvp against non-jedi, the carbineer is what I've been using to kill Jedi

Try MBH, Carb 3440, Pistol 0044. The best of both worlds, except no DE-10.

Does the shortage of pistol accuracy hurt though? I would think pistoleer 0440 would equate to more hits.

I am trying out a master rifleman, 4/0/4/4 pistoleer, 3/0/4/0 bh template. I've achieved the pistoleer portion and lack 3 skill boxes on the rifleman. I'll post my thoughts when i've tried it out. All I can say so far is that i get some nice defenses for being a ranged profession.

Well I've been having fun with Carbines, after revamp I may go master Carbines if they state effects stick around or they get better weps (which I believe is in the works).

So I vote Carbines:

The Good:
(state effects, posture change)

I can support my melee guild mates with AOE/Cone attacks. The AOE state effect (posture change, KD) are great in support of the group in largescale PvP, and the KD's state effects and posture changes are pretty good in small group PvP.

The Bad:
(lack of effective dmg)

My city holds a weekly PvP tourny, I've been able to KD guys, and keep them down. I can screw up their armor because spamming my favorite Carb attacks they will stay down as long as I keep hitting F5-F8.... but I cannot kill them. The Laser Carb though AP-2 doesn't do enough dmg, and with the delay changing weps I can't macro switch to my pistol for a shot to the torso then back to the KD's.... and as soon as I stop spamming, most will get right up from their KD before I can switch to my LLC or Geno etc...

So for my play style and guild niche, I choose carbines, I've never been uber in PvP so I don't mind not getting all the DB's.

Just my two cents

Good luck BH's!

At MBH you are speed capped for both weapons.

You can eat a Citros Snowcake and have enough accuracy with both weapons to reliably hit your target. +165 with both after a snowcake.

Spending SP on accuracy or speed is a waste IMO.

Spending SP on skills (Intimidate), State Defenses, Certs (Geo) and Ranged/Melee Defense is a better investment IMO. Hence, I recommend Fencer and Tech line from Pistoleer.

Spray is almost as powerful as Crippling shot yet it has three state effects, use it. Stun from Spray + Intimidate + 165 accuracy from Snowcake is a target that will get hit.

Tosro or Eye is better than Stopping or Last Ditch because of it's specific pool attack, use it. Big damage numbers are nice in the combat spam but when they are random pool then you're gambling.

MBH has great specials but lacks defense. Accuracy is as easy as popping a snowcake. Speed is capped. That leaves defense. Get Intimidate (awesome special), Ranged/Melee D and state defenses. MBH with snowcake is offensively sound. The defense is the weakness.

You aren't speed-capped for either weapon at MBH. The accuracy and exrra certs/specials do help, btw, as well. But, yes, having no D really sucks a$$.

As far as grabbing something like Master Fencer goes, I have no clue. I have an alt that's a stacker, but my main guy, my MBH, is a ranged fellerall the way.

I'm under the impression that you need to really load up on one side or the other unless you're fighting noobs or strictly doing the gank-squad thing.

I don't think so. You have to chose between 30 more pistol accuracy or 40 melee defense, really. I almost went 0440 but went with the defense. Seems to keep me from getting easilyobliterated by TKMs and such.
