you're not supposed to fight with dignity, that's the jedi's job you f*ckin moron...you have to be a melee player to solo a jedi or have some insane weapons to solo a jedi as a bh...

Bounty Hunters are professionals and work for money. Once you've been paid, your job is done, no need to spend anymore effort doing **edit** for free unless it's personal.

I bought a +9 mind enhancement tape today (also has +11 healing speed, but I'm working on that) for half of all the money I have. I laughed and said in spatial that the main reason I was buying it was so that a bot won't get it (I already have a 123% outfit) Someone who heard me in spatial told me to be careful that I didn't let anyone hear that was my reason for buying it because that is considered griefing.
Is it?

No, you can buy anything you like in the game, so long as the seller and you agree to a price and all conditions of the trade are met.
I could want a savage rifle with ridiculous stats just so a rival guild doesn't get it, that doesn't mean I griefed them...that means I bought the item as was agreed to. If I offer more, and my offer's accepted, the item is mine regardless of my motives for getting it.
No worries, it was probably just someone who wanted to spoil your fun because they have a buffbot, and didn't like your little indirect shot at them.

It's not griefing to buy the skill tape. There will be others the bots could get if they really wanted them. Also, my answer would have been something like this: "Well, I can't imagine they can AFK macro the negotation of a skill tape so they wouldn't have bought it anyway." /evilgrin

I can't believe there are foons out there who actually believe purchasing something to keep it out of the hands of someone else is griefing. I mean, think of it this way: If there's a legendary power hammer on auction, you're going to bid on it because you want it in your hands and not some other swordsman's hands. Is THAT griefing?
No. Tell this idiot to shut up and sit down.
Yes, I'm cranky, I had a flat tire today. >.<

OMG this really makes me angry!
Isn't it bad enough that most of the current Devs are Bot-lovers but now because of their action or more precisely inaction the general public is getting the idea that all it takes is for an ATK Entertainer to look sideways at a BoT and they can be busted for Griefing.
Something is VERY wrong with this picture.

I did exactly the same thing a few weeks ago - bought a bandolier with +5 music mind enhance because I suspected the other bidder to be a buffbot (even though I hardly ever buff anyone). Also cost me about half of my total funds... but as has been said already: what you buy and under what conditions is entirely up to you. Don't listen to the jerks.

Heh, funny, I guessin the unlikely situation itwas,it would be griefing a bot, but would the player be at the keyboard to see it and report you?

Yes, exactly. And this is also why I have no reservations about ruining a bot's business whenever I can. I don't do it too often, but every now and then when I'm in an outpost cantina, I'll invite them at the start of their cycle, do a /changeband to Western if they do music, and proceed to buff everyone who needs it (without inviting them of course).
If they feel I'm affecting their gameplay, they can tell me so at any time and I will of course stop it immediately. Never happens though ![]()
