I'll have to go back and read the rule book again, but I think you got a good case ofvictimisation. Put in a ticket, you never know
It's possible. but here's my take on it Im not on Gorath so I don't know the OP other than by his posts on the board.
- "im not in a guild been kicked out of so many for hunting there jedi friends"
Acting against the general wishes and spirit of a guild or violating its rules and treaties is something that should get you kicked out. Self victimisation. - "guilds dont want to now me well the good ones dont cos i killed there poor jedi "
If he wanted to be in a "good" guild killing its members is not a way to ingratiate himself to the leadership. Self victimisation. - "now im being excluded from all good armour and weaponsmiths shops"
If he has offened all the good armoursmiths and weaponsmiths through his actions it is a consequence of the above 2 self stated facts.
Now as to the assertion that the Jedi have the best crafters on his server... well it takes a lot of time to become the best crafter on the server. How they choose to spend the fruits of their labor is entirely up to them. Some people will indeed sell to him i am sure, but if he wanted to ensure he had access to the absolute best on hois server, would it not stand to reason that he would not act in a manner that gets him banned form using their services? Do you take your car to the best bodyshop in town after an accident if you habitually slap the owners cousin and expect not to be told we don't want your business?

What about the jedi who are banning bounty hunters just to keep them from being able to hunt htem in that city?
This is a great example of a way to "grief the system".
Since when is banning a player from a city to prevent them being able to shuttle in there and therefore make it harder for them to hunt you "greifing"? Or were you reffering to some therorhetical implementation in the thread.
Thanks for asking that - - the theoretical implementation in the thread.

Um get ahhh i dunno a 2nd or even 3rd account and go buy the stuff.
I can't believe it took this long for someone to suggest this.
Hey! Now this all makes sense! SOE introduces the alpha class - Jedi. Then they create the Jedi-BH rivalry by putting Jedi on the terminals. As the hatred grows between the two groups, city bans and shop bans are inevitable, causing the problem described by the original poster. The only solution is for the ostracized player to purchase another box and pay monthly for the second account so they can freely browse the wares of merchants who have banned their BH.
What a brilliant marketing ploy! Good job SOE!
I'll admit that I'm guilty of a knee-jerk reaction, which was my post about knee-jerk reactions. My alt was mayor of a player city, so I fully understand the need for city bans and shop bans, and the right of the individual to service (or refuse to service) whoever they choose.
I'm not backing down on my contempt for Jedi who whine about losing XP, however. Anything that anyone does in this game, including the pursuit of Jedidom (is that a word?), is a choice. And there are a lot of choices out there that don't penalize the player for dying. In fact, ALL the other choices out there carry no penalty for dying
Life as a Jedi is tough... Wear a helmet.

I would love to be able to ban entire guilds from the city! There is one guild in particular, well known for load killing Special Forces at starports. I think the entire guild is jedi as well. It would be so nice to ban them from our shuttle, which gets used a lot for krayt hunting (near the west dune sea)
I was under the impression that it is possible to add entire guilds to entry/ban lists, you just need to use a painy syntax?
Or did they fail to fix that the last time it bugged?

You can put entire guilds (and I think even faction) on the ban list of buildings.
You cannot city-ban entire guilds since you need to city ban individual players while they are within city limits.
Consider that I am the person who founded it, paid for ALL of it's civic buildings, and has paid an enormous amount of creds in maitenance, I am *NOT* going to let some BH come to my city to murder me and get to use my civic structures and services against me. Also, don't go around in comp armor with the scatter pistol equipped flying a BH tag in cities.
Don't want citybans? Don't hunt Jedi in player cities. Learn what their guild tag is, and where it's based, and EXPECT cityban if you go there to hunt your mark. BH's are supposed to be INVESTIGATORS, not everything you NEED to know is given out by the terms and your droids, you need to do some of the investigating yourself. Again, don't hunt in player cities, there are plenty of opportunity to hunt us OUTSIDE of cities, in the field, in the NPC cities, etc.
But if you go to someone's hometown and expect to be allowed to attempt to murder them without consequence, think again...

FWIW: the syntax is actually rather simple. For guild entry/ban it's Guild:guildtag where guildtag is ... well, ... their tag. For faction, it's Faction:factioname where factionname is imperial or rebel.
