Let me ask you a question. Would you operate a real business that way. I dont think you would.
Lets see. You do something that annoys my customers I throw you out. You vandalize or steal I ban you from my store. You offend my prime customer base I throw you out and ban you. You come into my store and slap a customer... Now substitue sister /brother/mother/child for customer.Umm yes MANY people run businesses this way, Even Large chain stores use their security to remove know problem customers from the premises and ensure they do not return.
Yes, as a matter of fact I would. If they are fighting in my store, not only would I ban them from every coming in the store, but they would also be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

And don't be jerk on this account, you'll probably find yourself welcome in most cities.

It never ceases to amaze me how not being a jerk directly corrosponds to people not hating you and people not hating you corresponds to allowing you to use their services.
There's some kinda lesson in that, I'm sure.

if you mean kick a troublesome customer out the door, yes i would. i'd also ban some guy from my store if he beat up a friend.

I can't believe it took this long for someone to suggest this.
Hey! Now this all makes sense! SOE introduces the alpha class - Jedi. Then they create the Jedi-BH rivalry by putting Jedi on the terminals. As the hatred grows between the two groups, city bans and shop bans are inevitable, causing the problem described by the original poster. The only solution is for the ostracized player to purchase another box and pay monthly for the second account so they can freely browse the wares of merchants who have banned their BH.
What a brilliant marketing ploy! Good job SOE! ![]()
I'll admit that I'm guilty of a knee-jerk reaction, which was my post about knee-jerk reactions. My alt was mayor of a player city, so I fully understand the need for city bans and shop bans, and the right of the individual to service (or refuse to service) whoever they choose.
I'm not backing down on my contempt for Jedi who whine about losing XP, however. Anything that anyone does in this game, including the pursuit of Jedidom (is that a word?), is a choice. And there are a lot of choices out there that don't penalize the player for dying. In fact, ALL the other choices out there carry no penalty for dying
Life as a Jedi is tough... Wear a helmet.
