Feign Death, the Jedi/BH skill.
Disable FD from working during player bounty fights and leave it alone otherwise.

Tell that to your average Joe who knows how to check a pulse.

The skill alone won't unaggro them. But there are at least 2 ways to unaggro while in a state of feign.
First option, if there are other players around, or npcs that aggro on whatevers killing you, once they aggro the guy, you can peace out of battle when you stand up.
Second, If you run far enough away before your feign, when the mob wanders back to it's home area, it will despawn, and thus combat will dissappear.
I use the first when I'm up on the corvette, I use the second when fighting nightsisters. Both can take patience, and you kind of have to figure out the specifics yourself, but they work.

Your best bet is to be buffed and let your HAM regenerate while you're Feigning Death or to use it in a group and let your buddies tackle the enemy for you. Just make sure to notify your group if it's only a few people and it's a rather tough MoB.
As far as Feigning Death when you're solo against a tough MoB, that gets pretty tricky. Max's advice was good but be carefull. I've had even low to mid-level MoBs come after me (or warp back to me) from hundreds of meters away while they were being attacked by multiple other players.
ex. At the Tusken Fort, me and 4 other people were tackling an Executioner. He got some good hits on me and I Feigned Death. My buddies took him down to the caves pretty darn deep, something like 100m down and probably 200m of running. I stood up and low and behold, the Executioner warmed to me and put the beat down on me. All I could do was Feign Death again while I waited for my buddies to run all the way back up top. This wasn't the first instance of something like this.
As far as against a PvP opponent, newp. They can beat the Hell out of you while you lay there and collect maximum wounds and battle fatigue. And if you're wearing armor, it's pretty well toasted down to zero condition.

I need some advice please...... I am going into jedi trials in a couple of days ..
Currently my template is master swords/master brawler medic 2040/scout 3000
How advantageous would it be for me to drop all of scout and medic to novice and pick up feign death instead?
I appreciate any advice and the reasons for it ... Thank you

Actually I think you'll find master brawler and your current medic/scout skills much more beneficial than FD personally. I don't use FD and never have on my Jedi. Master brawler makes a huge diff for you with berserk prior to novice sabers, and int2 all throughout your template. Int2 will be the absolute last thing I drop from my current template.
FD is a tactic that's mainly used against BH's though it can ocassionally come in handy in PvE. However, as long as you pay attention and try to stay off the terms then there really is no need to have FD.
