Thread: Why are we getting a mission revamp and the smugglers are getting squat?

Why must it always be a conspiracy theory? It is as simple as I was working on BH/Jedi missions and ran a few NPC missions and went "Wow, these are lame, Why would anyone want to do these?" So I came into work over a weekend and made some new challenging Marks, created some new loot, and re-itemized.
It was as simple as something was lame, I thought I could make it better, andfixed it up in my freetime.
Not everyone is about the PvP game, and even those that are like a bit of respite from it every now and then. Plus withnice new loot on there, who wouldn't want to kill some Marks?
It's always a conspiracy theory because the player base has no idea what's going on, whats getting fixed.
We understand that when you guys are posting you're not fixing but perhaps this could be avoided if, for example, if on a Monday a red name posted "this week, we're going to look at profs X,Y, and Z, Issues A, B and C, they might not get fixed immdiately, but we are looking at how to fix them."

I somehow doubt the Community Relations red names who should be doing the posting have much to do with fixing and coding...

Man, this community is pathetic. If I was in Blix's shoes, I'd consider quitting just so none of you children got any fixes.

With a sig like you have, I'd have thought you'd be fed up with this crap too.....Most here are not upset at Blix for actually trying to make things better, people are upset because everyone else at SOE don't seem to give a rusty f$#@. The point of most of these responses are that people are at the end of their rope...yes, we love to play SWG we wouldn't be here if we didn't....and yes we are concerned about how this community is being treated by SOE, if we were not we wouldn't be posting our outrage...we'd just cancel and that would be the end of it. Pathetic? It's pathetic to hear people degrading the player base that actually cares enough about this game to make their feelings heard. If you were in a devs shoes right now, I really hope that you'd separate the people crying about their proff and begin to listen to the people that actually want this game to get better, because if you weren't, you wouldn't be earning the paycheck you got every payday.....the paycheck that is taken out of the $15 bucks a month that thousands of people pay to play a game that should be growing and getting better, not the one that is festering in broken promises and catering to one profession like that's all the player base is. Sorry if I sound a bit hostile, I am.
Threads like this... Where a DEV comes in and explains that he did something in his 'free' time to make something non-consequential and easily coded. Then even takes the time to come in here and tell us his reasoning and say that he's only in charge of this thing that he was working on...
And yet still people come in here and flame him...
It really makes me wonder why the DEV's don't explain anything they do, or come in here and respond to any questions or concerns we have...

Blixtev,
Thats the entire problem with this game and why it is dying/not the #1 mmorpg like it should be, you guys have kept adding/changing things yet it seems you refuse to address basic core game issues that the player base has been constantly complaining about since launch.
This is a perfect example, Bounty Hunters have been telling you guys about this issue since launchand yet it hasent been addressed until just now.2 years of headaches for bounty hunters for somthing that was fixed in a weekend.
This is why the community is allways so negative you guys dont listen to anything we say.

you know what.. I hear that a lot and really dont understand why I hear that. I work for a development firm myself. We do a lot of turn-key solutions for websites that require both front-end and backend clustering and zero downtime. One such site is the ______ lottery. Out of every lottery site that hosts the Powerball this is the only one that is ever still able to connect to when the jackpot hits over 250million. Its not uncommon to receive 300-400 hits every single second. My team does a fantastic job with this website keeping it running, keeping exploiters/hackers at bay etc. But you know what happens if some guy in a trailer home calls in because he cant check his all-time record score on this Java basketball game(one of many free java games members can play)? I get woken up at 3am by someone on the night shift at the main internal serverfarm at that lottery. Not only do I have to find out why he couldnt check his score but my entire team shows up for a meeting the following Thursday with incident report in hand, to see if anyone needs to be thrown under the bus. This is how real software development works. Those being paid to do a job have to report back to those that pay us to do a job when even the most minute of details isnt working. If we took a page out of the SOE handbook of software development and simply didnt communicate with those that pay us we would not only lose our contract but they would sue us on breach of said contract and recoup every bit of financials they have paid us to date.
We are the paying customer. We write the salary checks. yet our vendors are chosing not to report back to us with regular updates as to how our game is comming along. Being a software developer is about talking to the customer for better or worse. We all take our beatings.. and we do the best we can do. Remember no good deed goes unpunished.

All im trying to do is point out that this has obvisouly taken a toll on the game no one can deny that. Id imagine around 50% of the games problems could be fixed "in a weekend" and yet they arent. Just look at how some small tweak has fixed half the BH proffession yet it took 2 years for it to happen. If your a BH and not mad about this thats redicules.
There needs to be a total halt on new content until every single proffession is fixed! We got shafted on the CU cause the dev's were forced to release itto early because of ROTW and the result is nothing is really fixed. The dev's told us the CU would fix the proffessions and it didnt so why shouldnt everyone be mad?
I am sure that you know that the content team is a separate group than the core programming team. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Except it has changed about 6 times completly from when I started my jedi. Lol this is pointless trying to argue with kiddies.
Hehe... I was a Master BH before you unlocked Jedi, fool. Feel free to look back at my messages from April 2004 if you wish, to confirm it.
Though I am done trying to educate small kids who play with mommy's credit cards. I am, however, full templated. I like it when you respec noobs come after me... I 3 incap every time to teach you kiddies a lesson. Too bad ur not on eclipse.

sorry, but bounty hunters shouldnt be allowed to track on kashyyyk as of yet. not until a substantial amount of the server population has the RoTW expansion. until then, no tracking on kashyyyk.
is that sarcastic or something? otherwise I don't get it.
