you know the animation that commando has where they sit their pistol down to use the rocket launcher or whatever...disarm shot could just be like a 2 or 3 second animation that has a 30 second timer. they could get the weapon shot out of their hands then pick it up in 2 or 3 seconds...probably 1 or 2...what you guys think?

nahh, what would happen is, it would slow people down, stop them, and make it super hard to react, sometimes an animation could be unbalancing to the pvp element


edit: dont get me wrong though, it would be cool, but in pvp time is worth more than gold. 1 or two seconds could mean the death of you

I myself would prefer the chance to knock their weapon back into their inventory. I sincerely doubt it is outside the realm of the coding and it would be a unique attack. To prevent dabbling they might make it only for Disarming Shot 2 though as that is a powerful tool.

If it was reduced to targeting hands though I would not complain.

a disarming shot that actually disarmed (unequiped) a weapon in pvp would be very cool. I would prefer though that it didnt do dmg to the opponents weapon though too much for griefers there.



I only use disarming shot against lairs when I do use it. Does significant dmg to lairs at low levels

As a CH this happens a variable number oftimes an hour. Pets autostoring during combat, usually whilst tanking the aggro mobs.


On top of that the pet can't be called again until combat has finished, generally meaning when you incap, db or run away on a speeder.


When you then factor in an additional random delay of at least 7 1/2 real-world seconds until the pet actually appears... We just accept it as a bug, of course


No, I'm not serious and I'm not naive. That's why I'm also playing with Pistoleer, but I hope it provides some perspective for the 'combat' classes.

At one point disarming shot did damage the condition of the opponent's weapon. I have this on good authority from Pistoleers on the Shadowfire sever. One of my guildmates was talking about he was using our guildmaster's legendary "Desert Eagle" fwg5 (uber krayt loot and before fwg5 nerf, 900 dmg puped - this actually exists; I've seen it!) and disarmingshot2 to destroy peoples' weapons in 5 shots or so inPvP back in the day. But we tried it just recently and it didn't do jack. I equipped a crappy weapon and had him spam disarmingshot2 at me. No condition change on my weapon.


Oddly, I've noticed that disarmingshot2 seems to hit multiple opponents for some reason, but doesn't do anything special aside from that.

it may just be a coincidence....but from my experience it is disarming NPCs. Or perhaps the NPCS are just switching to melee, Im not sure. I use disarming shot and the NPC with the rifle no longer has it equipped. Try it a few times. By the way, it's with white cons or less if that means anything.

That's not so odd, the two master specials are both AOE attacks. It's a pity that the disarming shots don't really 'do' anything.

That's perfect, i love it The animation's already in game, the coding for the weapon switch can be made to be an un-equip. It's like they dropped their weapon and have to pick it back up, which is exactly how the animation looks.

it does do that


it also causes a lot of damage to someone now wearing gloves (ie. trandoshans and wookiees)

I know pistoleer needs a revamp as our shots are lacking but.



As I understand by reading the description of disarming shot it was ment to do damage to your targets weapon. Does it and if so how much.


If not I would like to see it cause a stat effect like dealy or cause the weapon to be unequiped making the target have to equip it b4 firing again. after all it is called Disarming shot meaning to unarm someone. I do think if it does damage the weapon that about the most usless skill ever. let me target a weapon that players have dozens of and when I am done distroying one they pull out a new one. Are they for real.

I see that point but do you think your HAMs would outlast the condtion of there gun. I mean if you bring there gun to say 0/1000 they arnt incaped there gun is just useless. So the whole time your raining in shots on there weapon they are shotting you and hurting your HAMs.


This is why I asked for something like if disarming shot hits a targets weaponit unequips there weapon thus disarming them. This would have a chance to be very very nasty. Picture this rifleman raining in headshot 3 "faster then posable" and you whip out disarming shot unequips the rifle thus droping the combat que to nothing forcing the target to have the weapon hot keyed or have to pull up their inventory and click the gun close the window all the time your shotting them as they are disarmed by disarming shot.

Disarming shot still does damage to the HAMs though, we would see pistoleer capping up disarming and just spamming it at everyone and watching defenceless people get disarmingshotted to death. It would be the end of PvP plain and simple, and although it would be nice to stand by the ticket guy and say "anyone wanna duel for fun" and the reply to be "no thanks, you're a pistoleer" I don't think this would help us any in the long run. That's my thoughts anyway.
