Ok then, why not have it also remove that weapon from any bound locations on the targeted players toolbar? Thus no 'quickfix' OR have a delay put on that player arming 'any' weapon. (to simulate 'scrambling') Note: This delay would not end if the guy gets shot again.

Nah, you wouldnt even need to add that, because even someone who would be practiced in rearming themselves via hotkeys is still gonna fumble in the middle of combat if a weapon is knocked out. The very best will still make mistakes, and that would give the special some flavor, which is what pistoleers are asking for.

Disarming a person and putting their wepon into their inventory is against the code of this game and it wouldn't be able to be animated.

A few suggestions for disarming shot would be:

a.Make it a ranged warcry

b.Disable the target from using a special attack for a certain amount of time (this would have a 30 second or more timer on it)

c. Lower the target's accuracy and/or speed like this

Disarming shot 1: 15% accuracy/speed

Disarming shot 2: 30 % accuracy/speed

If Disarming shot can't disarm someone then it should be either a Stun or Intimidate. Come on, if someone shot your weapon wouldn't you be stunned? Or maybe intimidated that thisperson had the accuracy to hit your weapon?

Isn't the problem with disarm shot that it is just named wrong/needs updated discription? It really is a lair shot by doing double dmg. Never had a NPC drop its weapon by hitting it, but I will need to try that myself, just never really paid attention to it. It would be nice if there was a way to disarm an opponent, but my guess is this idea got shot down in development and the lair damage was implemented instead (anyone from beta have any experiences to share?).Many of our specials are plagued in this manner, the descriptions don't accurately reflect the nature of the special. Personally I find disarm shot very useful as is, and an delayed timer to equip weapons would be a fantastic improvement on an already sueful special.

I'd be happy if disarming shot just clear your opponents combat queue, even if it had a 15 or 30 second timer like a KD, as long as it had a seperate timer than the panic shot or Low blow.

Unless they stealth fixed Disarming Shot, what you're seeing is just a bug with the mob's AI. Search the forums here for a few months back, someone then was claiming it was working, but I posted screenshots showing that you can make an NPC drop their weapon without using Disarming, or any special for that matter.

Disarming works on NPCs? Not when I tried after getting each one of them. Tried it a few times.

Face it, except it, many of our specials don't work. And don't ask for them to get fixed before the Combat Balance.

Ideally, I would like disarming to be simply a shot to the hands, as BH have eyeshot and carbineers have leg shots. The natural pistoleer hit point is the torso.....which every other weapon hits by default anyway.

But the reason I would like disarming to work as a shot to the hands is for PVP. Most players only buy stun resist comp chest plates, for use against acklay stun batons, and helmets for use against BH eyeshot. I doubt many people have stun resist gloves

Being able to incap and then DB players by hitting their hands with geo gunswould be our PVP killer tactic....

As cool as it would be I know that on my server (Bloodfin) that would have little effect - since as soon as they found out the secret everyone and their mother buys resist comp gloves and we are back where we are started- we would have 2 weeks at the top at most then be viciously thrown back down to teh bottom

Aye, thats probably one of the Dev's biggest problems is trying to keep the profs balanced so EVERYONE isn't just one thing. If they make Smuggler as cool as it should be, thered be tons more than there are now, same with pistols, TK, and BH. These are professions that are either made famous by the Starwars story or are simply things that people enjoy doing IRL and like to emulate with their character.

well the code might

support guns being unequipped i mean, it does support trade thruogh players, and how do u explain how peeps get knocked off their swoops by NPC's. i wouldnt say the Code wouldnt support it beucase i dont beleave anyone really knows what the cdoe can do, they only assume.

Enless a Dev comes in here and says otherwise im not gonna just bealve someone becuase they say the code wont support when their experaicxne is from what is currently happening in game, i dont belave any gamer really knwos what this game can do, however Profession Correspondets might have an idea but i dont think they would want u to put them to the wall about what and what cannot be done.

anyway i think Disarming shot is where it unequips, disables any special that are showing on the action tab, and not be able to requip for 10-15 secondsthat would defiatantly be an edge for pistoleers, however this is soemthing i dont really think will happen.

now if only Delay shot would work like it used to.... i remember where i would panic shot a npc then lowblow would keep them on the ground for a good 5-10 secs, now that was cool.

i like kev0r's idea. like eyeshot only it is a shot to the hands...plus it could have stun, intimidate, or even dizzy...(like eyeshot with blind, right?)
