disarming shot does double damage to lairs. The descriptions are not accurate. A delay effect similar to warcry would be an interesting benefit to add to it. Use the same rules, so that if the target takes dmg, the delay is aborted, but it would be a nice crowd control to keep you from being overwhelmed.

I heard disarming shot hits the target's hands. If this is the case, it would be an excellent move to use against gloveless Trandoshans.

Disarming shot used to do double the damage to a lair that it showed in your combat log...
When did that stop? I remember it working less than 2 months ago, but I don't use it all that much. With the equip-delay, I've been staying with a pistol to finish a lair, and started using my /disarmingshot2 (x5) macro, only to see it wasn't working anymore.

Was it a 'bug' that's now fixed, or what?

The damage modifiers on both disarm shots vs structures, vehicles and lairs magically disappeared with publish 9.

No word as to why, if it was intentional, or if we are getting it back or not so far.

Cant say I miss it now really... having replaced disarmshot2 with fanshot in my macro.

I think with the new equip-weapon delay this is the perfect opportunity for the dev's to fix disarming shot. Why not have disarming shot unequip the weapon to the opponent's inventory. Yes, this has been mentioned many times before... But, it just seems like now would be the perfect opportunity. Even if there was a low chance of success it may be well worth the try. Heck, it may become one of the pistoleer's favorite specials. Imagine your a getting ready to one shot kill your target when suddenly you realize you have no weapon equipped. Madly you try to equip your rifle again while the pistoleer is closing the distance on you spamming his one or two other working specials, maybe even getting close enough to pistol whip your @$$ just as you get your weapon equipped.

Just a thought. I keep hoping that someday the Dev's will eventually fix us. I've been playing this game since "before" the opening day and still I have a broken profession. *sniff's sadly*

Unequipping your targets weapon sounds pretty similar to Warcry before it was changed. I doubt we'll see it. You have to admit, it would be pretty frustrating to our opponents if they had to go through the formality of opening their inventory and reequipping a weapon every time we used it. You may as well make it a delay, and we saw what happened to delays...

No word back yet on what happened to Disarming Shot. It probably wasn't intentional.

Most people have a quick key assigned to their weapon... But, I would be equally satisfied with a message stating "Your weapon has been disabled for 10 seconds" or "Your weapon is knocked to the ground, you pick it up" or something to that effect.

Add to that the fact that without a weapon armed, you lose most of your professions defensive bonuses and you'd get a move that would be quite powerful...

Is that an argument for or against it ?

Cause god forbid Pistoleer can actually do something other than bleed/target health & spam vanilla non-state specials.

Oh wait weve PMKD Wheeeeeeeeee, No only if we could keep the KD'd target down for more than 1 second.

As I understand it, the "Disarming Shot" special was a broken special that didn't work right. (Like many of the other Pistoleer specials) The side effect of the broken special was to that it did double damage to lairs. Since "Publish-9" it seems that SOE broke the already brokenspecial even more.

I had a hard time understanding how they could do this without fixing it instead. Then I used the analogy of a dropped glass. Once it was dropped, it broke... "Oops! I'll have toclean that up..." While stumbling around looking for something else, you step on it again and grind it under your boot!. Translated: SOE broke our special. Then instead of cleaning up the mess, the continue to walk all over us.

I want it to Damage weapons again, so I can find one of those "I HAV FOTM TEMPLATE AND UBAR RARE WEAPON, SO I M BETTAR THEN U" people and Duel them, then Spam it through the fight.
