Thread: Regarding House-Jedi (Updated 10/14)
sf / on leave
sf jedi = on the terms and wants to pvp
on leave jedi = not on the terms / pve guy
this way, you always get a mark who WANTS to fight and will not be in a house. anything else will just be more of the same.
or remove xp loss. i might actualy fight. till then, i will be afk in my house. be sure to knock when you come by so i can wave at you.
ok, ejecting jedi from housing is unfair, jedi cloaking or sitting in a house afkis unfair, jedi losing xp for being defeated and gaining nothing for winning is unfair,a bh notbeing able to do anything in return after countless hate tells and harassment tells about hunting a jedi from his friends and the jedi themselves is unfair, heres my idea:
1. Jedi should have a time limit on their cloaking ability (I'm not Jedi so im not sure if this is already in place, i dont care if you flame me about this)
2. Jedi, if they are defeated, should lose no xp, but if they win, be awarded xp on a bases of how creditable a bh is
3. The BH Creditability system works as follows:
a. A BH will get creditability points determined by how many missions they sucessfully completed
b. A BH will be able to view their creditability points
c. A Jedi will also be able to view their creditability points only if a BH has the Jedi's mission
d. The amount of creditability points a BH has will determine what level of mission he can take
4. If a BH is defeated, he loses creditability points which will hinder him from aquiring hire paying missions, but if he wins, he will get his money and an amount of creditability points that corresponds with the level of teh Jedi
5. A BH ability to take a certain level of a Jedi mission will be determined by his creditability points
a. Level 1: 2000-3000 points (Padawans)
b. Level 2: 3001-4750 points (Knights)
c. Level 3: 4751-7000 points (Guardians)
d. Level 4: 7001-10000 (capped) points (Masters)
6. When a BH has enough creditability points to get missions from teh next level, he cannot take missions that are from the level he came from
7. Once a BH aquires a mission, a Warning Mode will be announced to the Jedi whose mission was aquired, this allows Jedi the notification that a BH is on his way and gives him ample time to prepare, but in addition, the Jedi cannot enter a private structure for approxiamately 1 or 2 hours after the notification was given
8. A BH can have aid with him only if the Jedi is of high level and power
a. Jedi classified as Padawans can only have 1 BH on them
b. Jedi classified as Knights can have 1 BH on them
c. Jedi classified as Guardians can have 2 BH's on them
d. Jedi classified as Masters can have 2 BH's on them
9. The Jedi's name will be given on the BH terminal
10. The Jedi when notified, will be given the strength of the BH in some form of a saying
a. Level 1 BH: You feel aslight disturbance in the Force.
b. Level 2 BH: A strong sense of danget overcomes you.
c. Level3 BH: You have a deep feeling of iminent danger upon you
d. Level 4 BH: You feel a strong disturbance in the Force, a dangerous foe seeks to find you
11. When the BH and Jedi engage in battle, no one from outside of the fight can aid either side
12. If a Jedi defeats 2 BH's, then he will recieve double the xp from each BH he would normally get
13. If 2 BH's aid each other in the fight and both have the same mission and they win, then the money and credability points are split between them
14. Creditability points can be redeemed to "BH Vendors" designated in specific spots all over the galaxy for such items as follows:
a. Seeker Droids (20)-25 points
b. Probe Droids (10)-50 points
c. Explosive Proximity Mines (used as extra damage to Jedi in combat) (25)-200 points
d. Assasin Droid (used as counterpart in battle, works like a pet) (1)-500 points
e. Advanced Assasin Droid (same as Assasin Droid only cause more damage) (1)-1000 points
15. If a BH caps his creditability points, he will become known as an Alpha BH
16. If an Alpha BH gets a Jedi mission, the Jedi will have a notification as follows:
a. A tremendous depression of the Force is felt, danger is now upon you
b. A Jedi will also recieve the name of the Alpha BH
17. A Jedi will also not be able to log out in the middle of combat with a BH, as also with the BH
18. Before a deathblow is administered, the Jedi is given the oppurtunity to use 25-50% of their Force depeding on their level to revive themselves
19. The BH or the Jedi cannot leave the planet, or when the BH or Jedi leaves the planet, the other party is given the name of the planet that the BH or Jedi traveled to and what city they went to (this can be decided by whomever cares)
20. A Jedi who is killed is given a 3 day period of grace where their mission isnt on the BH terminal or where they cant be attacked by a BH, if a BH is killed, he cannot aquire another Jedi mission for 1 day
My plan here is subject to change to whomever cares to add, remove, or edit something

Well the post I was going to reply to isnt there anymore, so I will copy and paste

If BH's lost exp when they died, I would fight 10 times more. If I got the mission payout, I would be far more willing to fight. If I could attack them on sight, I would be happier still. I still think we should be able to take out missions on successful BH's as jedi. Heck if we could do that, you would have alot more PvP than you wanted. I know an entire guild of finished, Pre-CU jedi that would line up to kill some people on Ahazi. Until then, I fight when attacked at my option and on my terms. I have no reason to do anything else. I might be your content, but you certainly aren't mine.
It's been clearly stated that alot more jedi would fight if there is an incentive. Theirs no FRS now so a BH fight leads to only a down side for the Jedi.
Specifically Aimed at Darth_Spike: If the company you work for in real life turned round to you and said, "your working for us, but we're not paying you. Your our content, so tough if you don't like it" would you actually stay with that company ?
And this is a game world, if I was a jedi in real life I certainly wouldn't be able to go AFK and people would be able to break into my house, but it wouldn't be asif I couldn't see what was going on and therefore react to it. But this is a game and peoples real lives are there and will always prevail.
On a personal basis most of my guild couldn't give a hoot about gaining vis, we fight the BH as and when they come, but if we're AFK it's mostly not because we want to be away, I'd love to play more and not have time restraints etc to play. But we have lives outside of the 1's and 0's flying around the internet.
Now if their not going to have any upside for jedi then this will continue, this issue will keep going and you won't win any victory and neither will the jedi population. Why don't you look at some of our proposals and back those. Getting an incentive to fight you as BH would give us a purpose and give you the content your looking for. Maybe we could loot your character (and no I don't mean take your items) and be able to get an uber skill tape, or maybe they could reintroduce premium pearls, linked to your Bounty hunter success rates, so if you killed say 20 jedi or more the jedi that killed you would be able to loot a prem pearl ?
It's all about ideas, not about one class telling another class how they should play the game to best suit their own.

Whatever way you wish to argue it, it's not fair that Jedi can't go and do their RL things such as answer the phone, without worrying about getting killed while afk. To do that safely they need to drop a house as we all know.
House sitting Jedi who go afk just to p*** off BHs, well thats another issue.
A suggestion, Jedi that are in houses can be attacked by bomb droids, /picklock whatever. They are supposed to be hunted.
Give then a /safe command. My idea works like this:
for a period of up to say 10mins, the Jedi character is 'locked' out of the world - ie they can't move, nothing can attack them, they can't attack obviously, they get no cash or xp if they part of a group, buff timers are paused. The toon is visibly there but effectively not present.
It cannot be turned on if they are in combat, have a BH TEF, within range of an NPC or mob etc, say 20m etc etc. It's not to be used an escape.
This would allow Jedi to leave the k/b relatively quickly without worry to deal with RL stuff. They could macro it if they were going to be away for longer (perhaps for a max period of half an hour?)
Actually this isnt a bad idea. /safe or /pause it is essentially what you are doing. There would need to be a re-use timer that prevented continual use, but the idea is good. I would actually take it a step further and have the game automatically log you off if you are on /Safe for over 10 minutes and do not respond to a pop up telling you the time is up.
Unfortnately that wouldn't resolve this issue. It is evident by many posts in this thread that many Jedi house-sit specificaly to frustrate and grief BH. Not all of them, but enough to be a problem. Even if the Jedi has something to gain and a BH has something to lose, the Jedi doing this for the purpose of griefing will continue because they can.
I read the first page, not really interested in the rest.
I will sit in my house because:
1) I had to go do something in RL or on another character
2) I'm crafting
3) I'm not in the mood to fight
4) I know I'm wasting a particular BH's time who constantly griefs and does not deserve my time
You chose the BH proffession, If you cant handle targets sitting in a house then you should go work on playing the flute in Theed cantina in your hawtpants. Deal with it, move on, killing an afkjedi whowanted safety in a house does not make you uber.

One of the things that often gets mentioned is the plan to remove recursive macros. If that was the case those macros that keep you logged on by standing/sitting would be gone and you'd be kicked automatically, so no more Jedi afk in a house for 18hours.
Using cunnning rather than straight out attacks, she deploys a slithery insect to despatch her mark.
.....
1. Log out. They are in a safe house so logging out should be immediate.
2. Sit their /afk whilst the critter gnaws away at their force bar/health bar, in chunks large enough that it will eventually kill the /afk Jedi.
3. The Jedi attacks the critter, thus getting a TEF, and being ejected from the building. No doubt after the Jedi has had a chance to buff themselves.
Far fetched.. you damn right, but you asked for options.
Will never happen though, as I do believe the Jedi should have a sanctuary someplace.
