In regards to visibility, why not remove the ability to view another players Bio and Badges unless the player chooses to make these visible?

1. I don't see how someone I never met would know my resume by just examining me, knowing where I've been and what I've donethe past year.

2. I really don't want players to have an advantage of knowing I'm a Master of many professions

3. If I was a Jedi I wouldn't want people to be able to read my bio and follow me around waiting for me to pull my saber, so Jedi are going to need some travel clothes too.

4.Give Bounty Hunters ability to scan a player and see a players Bio when reaching Invest 2, Invest 3 can IdentifySmugglers if on the terminals, Invest 4 can identifyPadawans if on terminals, Master Bounty Hunter can Identify Knights and Masters if on terminals.

5. Jedi Knight can Identify Non mastered BH and players, Master Jedi can identify Master BH. Due to implied experience.

6.And this is a stretch but if a BH scans a player and they are on the terms that data comes up and there is no need to go through the whole tracking procedure and mission can be accepted or declined. This is considering that at higher levels in our profession we have aquired the cybernetics to link to the BH terminals. This also adds the factor of fellow players sending us tells that possible jedis are in the vicinity of a city. We can travel that city and scan for any bounties. Plus a 4000 BH would need to use the terms for anything higher than Padawans so Jedi's will be happy that less BHs can detect them in a crowd.


I think #6 would add to the excitement and the terminals considering the technology and future introduction of cybernetics is pretty outdated. They should just incorporate mission terms into vehicles and ships to tell the truth.


Also get rid of the HAM display when selecting ona player unless engaged in combat. How would someone know I'm buffed? Are my veins popping? When engaged we can just assume by the wounds we wouldin realitysee inflicted that the guy is low in health. Then maybe if grouped so you can see healing progress on teammates, but anyone else you heal, dancers etc. can't tell, so they'd have to say thanks. If they're AFK thats their problem.

only 1 problem i have is with part 3. 1 mission per visbility type. i can see a guild having a BH nab their jedi's mission so no one can hunt them, they can walk around saber equipped with impunity. maybe having 1 mission per time the jedi is reported... just maybe

Read again, up to 15 can take this one same mission. If one takes it, 14 more could take it. But there won't be more than one mission on the same guy, unless he has landed on the terminal for one of the other bounty types as well.

I'm only touching on a cpuple points here.

1 If you dont read the entire post dont respond to something you obviously didn't read.

You know who you are!

2 Jedi Vis should be interactive!!

I heard Han personally put a mark on Luke's Head (sarcasm)....think about it it only makes sence to do it this way or very similar.

"Vis is not Vis" if someone wants to stay quiet about a Jedi friend they should be able to.

NOTHING else makes sence.

AND plenty of people will report other jedi...opposite faction, hate that particular person, andmany other reasons.

I have many other opinions but dont have the time to type them out.

GL with this it's a good post if nothing else to get something started.

Gizmo - I really love a lot of the ideas you have. I hadn't thought of most of them.



AWESOME work.


My biggest complain though that your system doesn't address is the actual hunt itself. I've gone in depth towards altering the actual method of hunting, to make it more immersive and also, to require more skill. I too was inspired by reaing the BH books, and the one thing I noticed is that NO ONE launched an arakyd or seeker that lead them directly to their target.


Please take the time to read the thread in my sig and if you want to take any of my ideas and combine them in to your post that's perfectly alright.


I think if you took just a few of my thoughts and added them to your great work, it would be incredible.

I would like this:


1. Terminal with both faction and smuggler. (For BH's that hunt both sides.)


2. One terminal for one Reb and same with Imp. (For BH's that do not wanna hunt own side.)


That can't be too much work.


Or just make the faction show up on the terminals we have today. =)

I find it disconcerting that those who chose to troll boards like these are the ones who are totally satisfied with just "hunting" jedi. yet i see these same names in various other posts crying about this. or supporting this exploit "cause it limits the jedi population!" well regardless this is SWG. not actually starwars.. as i understood it.. each of the servers is a "galaxy" of it's own.. more like a parrallell universe to the REAL Star Wars. i mean. our characters didn't exist in the REAL universe of Star Wars.. yet this argument of "Realism" is the common debate behind why this should be or that should be. When i first bought SWG i wanted to become a bounty hunter because i thought i'd be able to hunt other players.. and the way it was marketed.. MBH where to do just that.. but low and behold. if i want to hunt other players. it's either jedi.. or GCW. people who post supporting changes.. (unlike the one saying who does SWG need saving from?) are trying to keep this game enjoyable for EVERYONE. this arugment about "thats the risk you pay to play" is unfair because no one else has that same risk. IMO it would add ALOT more to the game if some of us had similar risks.. ya know. i'd actually care about the "faction" system beyond imperial. having -5000 Hutt faction should mean more than just being KOS to that faction. pissing off jabba has always warranted a bounty. if a chef cooked bad food pffft. he'd be dead... as for the whole "This is just giving jedi all the pro's none of the cons" it makes no sense. jedi have it triple stacked. (which i agree it should be tough. but not down right stupid to play) i took the respec as an opportunity to go back to BH roots i started with.. i took a few jedi bounties.. and most ended with me actually talking to the jedi. the Respec has allowed swarms of MBH to go against them.. and regardless about the hard core anti jedi people.. this is highly unfair. the original system for visability and BH terminal DID NOT support such a massive amount of MBH's taking the same jedi over and over. and those MBH's that think this is a totally acceptable system as is really are the piss poor griefers that so many claim the MBH community to be. if the tables where turned you'd be equally ticked off.. this is an insane double standard. and the argument "price you pay to play" doesn't warrant it. if you MBH's had more to loose then you'd ALL Reconsider the effort of being MBH let alone what a privilage it is to hunt other players. Thought i have is those MBH's out there that claimed they only become MBH to hunt jedi.. was it to really hunt Jedi? or other players? i honestly believe it's the later.. and that's what many who support this thread believe.. not cause we think jedi need "even more slack" (when they don't have a whole lot of slack to begin with) but we wish to keep the spirit of STAR WARS alive.. that's what SWG needs saving from.. the SOE nerf juggernaught that will turn SWG into one of the worst Star Wars related games out there. and for what? BH/Jedi Wars? so honestly. instead of trolling good ideas. (and only picking ideas that concur with what you think you should be getting / entilted to) and be more supportive and return SWG to the spirit it had at release.. then SWG will truly have been saved.... from itself

I always thought faction should play a major role in bounty hunter missions. IE not only jedi get hunted. In my opinion if you are an imp bounty hunter, you should be able to get missions to hunt any rebel player with enough negative imp faction. In role playing terms this would be like lord vader contracting a group of hunters to track down and kill leia, han, and chewie. If you have super negative faction, wouldn't the empire want to hunt you down, even if your not a jedi? I mean hell, in real life if you kill one cop the whole world is looking for you. How come you can get away with killing millions of stormies.

Of course, this could be a problem to implement into the game, and there would probably be a million and a half bugs, but overall, these ideas are pretty great. Having read the Bounty Hunter Wars books myself, I think it would be pretty awesome to have some of the stuff that goes on in those books be seen in SWG. BH vs. BH - great idea. It would turn the bland profession of being a bounty hunter into something really exciting. The the biggest problem with SWG currently, as I see it, is that there is not enough player to player involvement and not enough depth. SWG has the potential to be a great game. The visuals are great, sound could use a little more variety. But if the devs could add some excitement and depth to the game, I think they would see that the players would love it.Gizmo's ideas are pretty awesome. If the devs don't majorly change this game - SUCK FAILURE, FREAKS!

I like it so far, except for a few things:


Bounty hunters Need to be able to group up (how can a BH solo a knight?)


5.Bounty Hunters with the same mission are prohibited from grouping with each other. If they don't havea mission on the same mark, they can group, but when they both have the same mission, they get a message 'cannot group with a rival'. Once a bounty hunter is grouped with a bounty hunter that already has a mission, he cannot pick up the same mission as his groupmate or is automatically kicked out of the group when accepting this mission.


6. Only special forces Bounty Hunters can hunt special forcesmarks of the opposing GCW faction. That means if a mark isPVP-enabled, the Bounty Hunter will have to be of the opposing PVP-enabledfaction as well to get the mission in the first place and be able to attack it. The reward for bounties that are members of the opposing faction special forces will be considerably higher to warrant the higher risk involved for the Bounty Hunter.
