Disarm should be a delay attack, pure and simple. Unequipping the victim's weapon is no biggie, since most of us have our weapons hot-keyed anyway. Damaging the weapon will lead to grief whining. A 5 second delay at disarm 1 and a 10 second delay at disarm 2 would be a welcome addition to the pistoleer skillset, IMHO.

(My armorsmith is also a pistoleer)

We agree ... we've asked for something similar to this, and gave some other ideas too. No response.

If I could reproduce what you're doing then I would agree, but I can't. No matter how much I spam any of my attacks I can only cause it to happen with DisarmingShot1. I can see full well that you are doing it with other attacks, yay you, congrats, have a beer. I, however, can't get it to happen with any other attack, and I find that very strange.

Unfortunately Kaern I can't reproduce what you're doing. I've tried, no luck. I have had them drop their guns randomly, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with DisarmingShot.

Maybe DisarmingShot just likes me

Well, if DS isn't already on the (large) list of our professions problems then it should be. And if everyone agrees there's an AI bug, then that belongs on somebody's list too.

Dont say anything about the AI bug untill pistoleer gets its fixes. Give them one thing at a time, and I think you all would want your profession fixed first.

Interesting thread. I will have to play with this shot tonight, since my favorite missions are vs. NPCs.

That being said, the delay suggestions sound much better than the unequip concept I was thinking of before. Much, much better. With PMD being so short term when it sticks, getting a delay would be awesome.

Does it work, and if so how well

This is completely random thread, related to pistol specials being broken. This doesnt do what I think it's supposed to do in PvP, but I did run some tests in PvE. Disarming Shot DOES DISARM humanoid NPCs. At a distance you can test this yourself by spamming Disarming Shot 1 at any NPC with a ranged weapon. It would appear as if the weapon becomes unequipped on your target and then it proceeds to charge you for melee. I hope this special gets fixed because it would give the other professions something to talk about if this shot 'unequipped' their weapons in pvp, causing them to have to re-equip them.

And, hello everybody

Don't count on it. Remember that this is basically a delay attack. Delay attacks were removed not to long ago. Or more correctly it was made that the delay automatically ended if you damaged the target while it was delayed. But hopefully they will add the delay attacks back in. **keeps fingers crossed**

It would be cool if--since this attack supposedly--according to the text--attacks the enemy's weapon--it would be cool if you would do massive damage to the condition of your opponent's weapon. How funny would that be to destroy someone's baby. lol

I think ive said this in any thread mentioning Disarming Shot. It should absolutely be a special that knocks your oponents weapon back into their inventory so that they must reequip it, not to mention causing serious wounds to their health substats. Every western/gunfighter movie I can think of has a scene where someones gun gets shot out of their hands by a pistol wielder. CMON now.....

even if it would disarm players...so then they have to scramble on the keyboard to press...F1? i always have my weapons on the hot key box or whatever it is called, it seems that most others would have their weapons up there too...so it is not like disarming shot would have much affect even if it does disarm a player.

It would still give us a second's advantage and spoil any combat macros or attack's that are que'd up. It's a distraction, something that is priceless in combat. And its not like you can have your weapon macro'd like people have the /stand command macro'd. That would be a sight to see, some guy's T-21 snapping in and out of his hands lol.
